《Nothing Lasts Forever》24. Unnecessary Drama

"How do I look?" I ask as I exit my closet and enter my bedroom where Hunter is currently laying in my bed

I have spent the last two hours getting ready for my date with Wesley.

I was originally planning on rebelling and wearing normal clothes to this bogus date with Wesley.

Eventually I rethought that decision when I remembered that there are going to be paparazzi following me.

I spent an hour alone mentally fighting with myself on whether I want to show some skin or not.

My instinct says 'definitely not', but my head says 'fuck it'.

I have not showed skin in quite literally years.

All because of a comment my own manager made about my body.

As the days go on I realize that most of what she says is quite literally complete bullshit.

I made the last minute decision to wear a designer dress that was gifted to me when I did a campaign for their brand.

The dress is on the longer side, ending around my ankles. It has a rather large slit that exposes a significant amount of my thigh area. To combat this I used a thigh chain to accessorize this area.

Due to the dress being a size smaller than I am it forces my breasts to touch, the dress as a whole being held up by two thin straps on my shoulders.

As for my hair I just parted it a bit to the side and brushed out most of the curls that were left in it.

Finally I finished my look off with a pair of matching red heels.

Hunter turns away from her cellphone to face me.

I try my best not to laugh as her jaw drops, her eyes trailing over my figure.

"Beautiful" she ends up admitting

I smile at her compliment.

I make my way over towards my mirror and begin to apply a red lipstick.

"Hey, where are you going anyway?" I hear the curiosity in her tone of voice

I can tell that she is trying to be nonchalant about this but she is not doing the best job at it.

"I have a date with Wesley," I reveal to her

I can feel the energy in the room shift after I tell her this.

I avoid her eye contact as I put my lipstick away, inevitably giving in a few seconds later and turning to face her.

I can feel my heart physically drop in my chest as I recognize the hurt on her face.

"Nicole thinks that it will help shift the public's attention from all of our headlines," I tell her

Technically this is not the full truth.

Hunter nods, but her facial expression does not change.

"I do not like him if that is what you are worried about" I tell her

Hunter shakes her head this time around.

"No...I was just hoping to spend some more time with you...alone...you know, before we go back to set tomorrow" she says

A smile makes it way onto my face at her confession.

"I promise that I'm all yours after this date" I inform her

She nods her head, a smile of her own making its way onto her face.

Not too long after this I hear the doorbell go off.

That must be my bodyguard.

-

"Hey" Wesley greets me as I approach the table

Due to us sitting next to a window, most likely per Nicole's request, I see the flashes from the paparazzi out the corner of my eye.

I assume that the entire restaurant has been rented out due to there being no one else here except for us and the staff.

Wesley pulls out my chair for me.

I am silent as I sit in said seat before looking down at my menu.

"Are you- Are you going to say it back?" Wesley awkwardly speaks up when he realizes that I am not going to say anything

This causes me to glance up at him, a look of annoyance in my eyes.

"You could not have warned me about this date? You just left me in the dark and made Nicole tell me" I finally speak up

Wesley is obviously shocked by this, rarely seeing me truly annoyed with him.

"I'm sorry, I tried to tell her that this date would be a bad idea but she offered me a quarter million dollars to do it" he desperately tries to defend his decision

I give Wesley and incredulous facial expression.

"Are you seriously telling me right now that you are only sitting at this table because you're getting paid to do so?" I ask him

"Be careful how you answer this question Wesley" I warn him

Honestly I am prepared to walk out of here at any second.

Wesley nervously glances out of the window at the eager paparazzi before glancing back at me.

"I told you about my grandmother's chemotherapy, it's going well but my mom and I need more money to finish paying for it" he says

I take a moment to think back on when he told me about this.

A scoff immediately exits my lips as he finishes talking.

"You are full of shit Wesley Williams!" I cannot help the annoyance that overtakes my body

Does he think that I am an idiot?!

I close my menu and place it down on the table.

Wesley is taken aback by my language.

"Excuse me?" He questions

I noticed him glance over towards the paparazzi that are now snapping photos of us at a quicker rate from outside of the large window.

"You told me that it was your mom that needed chemotherapy, not your grandmother" I tell him

The blonde takes a few moments to think back on our first conversation about the subject.

I see the exact moment realization dawns on his face.

"That's what I said, I said 'my mother's chemotherapy'" he desperately tries to get me to forget

I give him a disgusted facial expression.

I cannot believe I let another boy trick me!

"Our deal is off" I say as I stand up from the table

"Delaney" he says but I ignore him

As I begin to make my way towards the door to the restaurant I feel a hand tightly wrap itself around my wrist.

I turn to face the culprit only for my eyes to land on Wesley.

"I hope you know that I can and will press charges against you if you do not release me" I threaten

Wesley smirks.

"It seems like someone forgot about our contract,"

I feel my entire body go completely still at this sentence.

'Shit!'

"I suggest that you take a seat...babe"

I can practically hear the smirk in his tone.

-

"Hey," I hear someone call out

I jump at the sudden interruption.

I turn in the direction of the studio door only for my eyes to land on Hunter who is entering said studio.

Oh...she found me.

I try my best to give her a smile but I am physically unable to do so, still feeling angry from Wesley and I's date.

"I've been waiting for you to come home since yesterday" she says as she closes the door behind her body

The corner of my lip turns up at the mention of her calling my new apartment our home.

I adjust the blanket that is currently covering my legs due to it falling off of me.

As I do this I hear the raven haired girl begin to make her way towards me.

I only turn to face her when I feel her sit beside me on the couch.

"What's wrong?" She asks with genuine concern

I shake my head.

"Wesley is not the guy that I thought he was" is all that I say

The raven haired girl instantly sits up straighter at my confession.

"Did he lay his hands on you?" She questions

"No...well he grabbed my wrist...but that was it"

A pissed expression makes its way onto her face which persuades me to reach out for her hand.

"I never told you this, but I signed a contract that says that I have to publicly date him for two years minimum" I decide to tell her

Hunter just stares at me.

"Why are you telling me this now?" She asks

I stare back at her.

"Because I don't feel comfortable hiding things from the person that I like" a small smile makes its way onto my face

The actress smiles back at me.

"We should...uh- head to set before we're late" she eventually voices

I nod my head, agreeing with her.
