《Nothing Lasts Forever》8. Breakups Are Inevitable

I silently pull up in front of Bea's apartment before gently pressing on the brake.

There has been an awkward aura around us all day.

To be more specific it made itself apparent after I heatedly yelled at her for offering me a cheeseburger.

I awkwardly shift in my seat so that I am facing the blue haired girl.

She avoids all eye contact with me as she unbuckles her seatbelt and goes to open her door.

I have to be honest, my heart hurts at the thought of losing her.

Before she get the chance to climb out of my car I grab ahold of her bicep, this action immediately causes her to freeze in her spot.

"Bea," my voice cracks against my will

I assume that the blue haired girl catches this judging by her choice to finally turn around and face me, albeit slowly.

"I am so so so incredibly sorry," I apologize to her

She continues to stare at me with an unreadable expression on her face.

"I swear I did not mean to shout at you earlier,"

The blue haired girl continues to stare at me in complete silence.

I begin to become worried that she is plotting ways to tell me that she does not wish to be friends with me anymore.

My heart beat quickens with fear at this realization.

"Please say something...anything" I barely get out

I am taken by surprise when she reaches across the arm rest and pulls me into a tight hug.

At the feeling of her warm embrace I bury my face in her shoulder and allow my tears to exit my eyes.

She allows me to sob into her shoulder until I have no more tears left to cry.

"It's okay," she gently runs her fingers along my hoodie covered spine

This simple action does wonders to calm me down.

"I know that you were just ticked off by what Nicole said to you" she says

I silently nod my head against her shoulder, sniffling my nose.

The two of us stay in this position for a few more moments, eventually separating from one another.

As my face comes into Bea's view she brings her hands up to gently rest on my wet cheeks. She takes the pads of her thumbs and delicately wipes my tears away.

I give her an appreciative smile which she ends up replicating.

The two of us are left in another odd silence. However this time I can tell that she wants to say something.

I bring one of my hands up to rest on top of one of hers.

"Just say it" I gently encourage her

She glances up from her hands to meet my eyes.

"I want you to be honest with me," She says after a moment of silence

I silently nod my head at this, not really knowing what she is going to ask me in any way, shape or form.

"Delaney...is there something you're not telling me?" She asks

I notice her eyes briefly shift down to my hoodie.

I furrow my eyebrows at this question.

"Uhm-" I glance down at said hoodie

"If you want to know where I got this from I apolo-" I answer her

The blue haired girl cuts me off with a vigorous head shake.

"No!" She stops me

My friend sighs with a sad look etched on her face.

"Delaney, do you have an eating disorder?" She asks me a serious tone of voice

My entire world stops as these seven words leave her mouth.

"U-Uhm-" I stutter out with panic

Bea frowns at this.

"Don't even try to lie to me, I can read you like an open book,"

I continue to allow my jaw to lay slack in the air, unable to come up with any sort of answer.

"You always deny me when I offer you food, I only see you wear hoodies, you're always freezing, you barely have any strength nowadays," she lists off

"Not to mention that you're thirty times skinnier than you were last year and that was the year you were bordering a skeleton"

I sigh and look down at hands.

"You do not understand-" I try to tell her

"No Delaney," she cuts me off

"You need help,"

"You need to go to a rehab facility or- or-" she tries to convince me

I lift my head up to glare at her, removing my hand from hers.

"No Bea! Okay?! I cannot risk my career for a month of unqualified 'doctors' forcing food down my throat and hoping that I do not throw it up at them!"

Bea nibbles on her bottom lip as she listen to me.

"No one cares," I sigh out

"This is Hollywood after all, if you do not already have an eating disorder you are bound to have one if you stay here long enough" I shrug

Bea is silent for a few moments, a sigh eventually leaving her lips.

"Delaney, I love you," she tells me with a truthful tone of voice

"But I can't continue to hang out with you if you're just going to slowly kill yourself in front of my eyes"

My heart shatters all over again at the words that leave Bea's mouth.

Before I can say anything the blue haired girl exits my car and makes her way towards her front door, not once looking back at me.

I solemnly enter my apartment, still in shock from Bea's words.

I cannot believe it.

I lost my one and only true friend in this fucked up industry.

As I make my way through the living room I am stopped by a voice coming from the kitchen.

"Where the hell have you been Delaney?! I've been calling you all day! Imagine how I felt when I woke up alone and you were nowhere to be seen. Now here you are strolling in at eleven at night-" Sean rants

I massage my temples before swiftly turning around to face the blonde haired boy.

"You need to leave Sean." I tell him with a firm tone of voice

I assume that he is taken aback by this outburst considering his shocked facial expression.

"Excuse me?" He questions with an oddly calm tone of voice

"You've changed," I tell him

"When we started dating you were a gentleman and actually seemed like you genuinely loved me,"

"Now you are acting like the mere sight of me disgusts you" I throw my hands up with frustration

The blonde haired boy furrows his eyebrows at me.

"What are you even saying Delaney?" He asks

He already sounds annoyed with me.

I sigh and shake my head at him.

This relationship is way beyond saving.

"I am saying that I do not love you anymore Sean,"

"Therefore I want you to move out of my apartment" I make sure to say this slowly so that he understands

He crosses his arms with a challenging look on his face.

"My name is on the lease as well, in case you forgot," he reminds me

"You leave" he retorts

I raise an eyebrow at him.

He seriously wants to test me right now?

"I am the only one with a steady income who also pays for all of the bills every month, in case you forgot," I fire back at him

"Leave my apartment Sean" I give him one last chance

The blonde haired boy stares me dead in the eyes.

"Make me"

I glare at him.

"You know what? I will do you one better" I say before making my way towards our bedroom

This confuses Sean.

"What are you doing Delaney?" He groans out

Ah! Annoyed as usual.

"Packing my bags, if you want the apartment so bad you can have it."

I cannot wait to see how he pays for all of the bills because they are most definitely far from cheap.
