《Nothing Lasts Forever》4. This Is A Disaster

I jump with shock at the sudden banging on my door.
They are knocking on the door so quickly that it is only natural of me to assume that it is something urgent.
I place my movie script on the empty couch space in front of me, leaving it open on the page that I was just memorizing.
After making sure that it is not going to fall closed on its own I hop up from my couch.
I hurriedly make my way towards my front door.
Quite frankly I am worried that this person is going to break my door off of its hinges if I am not quick enough.
Thanks to me lightly jogging I reach the door in record time.
Once I reach my front door I hurriedly unlock it and swing it open, not thinking to check the peep hole.
What if there was a paparazzi at the door?
Or worse, a potential murdered?
"Bea?!" I voice, appalled at her uncharacteristic actions
Has she completely lost her mind?!
"Why are you banging on my door like a madwoman?!" I question her
"Have you seen it?!" The blue haired girl completely deflects my question
I furrow my eyebrows at her question.
I unconsciously take a few steps aside so that she can enter my apartment.
"Have I seen what?" I ask as she briskly enters the apartment with no questions asked
The blue haired girl turns her phone screen around so that the illuminated screen is now facing my direction.
My eyebrows remain furrowed at this.
I shut the front door behind us using my back.
"What is this?" I ask
My friend gestures for me to take the cellphone from her hand, which I do.
"It was published an hour ago," she tells me
"I sent it to you as soon as I saw it, but judging by your clueless facial expression I'm assuming that you haven't seen it" Bea continued
I use my thumb to scroll down the webpage that she has pulled up on her phone.
As I do the the title 'American Singer, Delaney Carson Just Signed A Movie Deal With Brite Entertainment' graces my eyes.
Nicole must have leaked this to the press.
I glance back up at Bea and hold my hand out for her to grab her cellphone from it.

"I signed a movie deal, so what?" I ask
I was going to tell her.
If I am being honest I thought that I already told her.
Bea pushes the cellphone back towards me.
"Continue reading, I think that you'll want to know who your costar is before you meet her" the blue haired girl vaguely mentions
I am slightly taken aback at the words that leave her mouth.
Nicole told them who my costar is?
Then why was she so adamant on not telling me?
I glance back down at the illuminated cellphone screen, reading the small black words on the white background.
I continue to read the words on said screen for around a minute before sighing.
"I do not see anything about my costar on he-" I begin to say only to cut myself off when my eyes land on a name I have not came across is awhile
'McKenna King.'
Or rather 'Hunter' I remember it being.
"Actress, McKenna King is set to star alongside the singer in this upcoming film" I read out loud
To make matters worse, just as I finish reading this sentence a photograph of the actress finishes loading above it.
She seems to be at a movie premiere of some sort.
If I am not mistaken I think that this photo was taken a week or two ago.
"How do you feel?" Bea questions when she notices my silence
I knock out of my shock, shaking my head at this entire situation.
"No," I say
I hand Bea her cellphone, waiting until she takes it to walk past her.
"There is no way that they would purposely put Hunter and I in the same project," I firmly voice
"They know how the two of us do not get along. Hell! Everyone knows!" I rant as I enter my living room not too long after
I hear Bea's footsteps not too far behind me, alerting me that she is following me.
"Hunter? I thought her name was McKenna?" The blue haired girl questions
I roll my eyes at her question.
Is that really all she caught?
"Whatever her name is I refuse to work with her, she absolutely despises me and I do the both of us a favor by avoiding anything pertaining to or about her" I grab ahold of my open script and close it before plopping down on my couch

My best friend does the same as I, plopping down on the cushion in front of me so that she is now facing me.
"Don't you think that this rivalry between you two has gone on long enough? Maybe this is the world's way of telling you that the two of you should try connecting with one another again!" Bea adds
I just give her a bored look.
"I seriously doubt that is the case" I deadpan
Bea rolls her eyes at me, annoyed that I am not seeing the 'benefits' of this situation.
I am sorry that I do not wish to have my head separated from my body by a six foot tall actress who made it quite clear over a decade ago that she never wants to see me again.
It is kind of hard to see the positives in this situation when every scenario of Hunter and I being within the same proximity as each other for hours at a time could possibly end with me losing a body part.
Oh, this is going to be a disaster!
"You're so stubborn," Bea groans out
The blue haired girl retrieves the closed script from my lap and opens it to a random page.
Her eyes immediately begin scanning over the dialogue on said pages.
"You know, I did some research on McKenna and you two have a lot in common with each other," Bea distractedly spills
My eyebrows furrow a bit at the words that leave her mouth.
She researched her?!
"If you two weren't so adamant on pretending that you hate each other then I think that you two would be so cute together" my friend continually rambles on
My eyes widen at this thought of hers.
Hunter? And I? Together?
My stomach feels like there are dozens of butterflies freely flying around in it, their wings brushing against the interior of said stomach.
"I think that I am going to throw up" I groan out
The thought of Hunter and I being more than... well, whatever we are now making me sick to my stomach.
"Just because we have things in common does not mean that the two of us will get along any better than we would now," I tell the blue haired girl
She continues to scan through the pages of my script.
"The two of us are just going to film this movie together and then go back to ignoring each other," I assure Bea
"In the end it is for the best" I sigh
I do not want to even think about how much work it is going to be to try and avoid Hunter.
Maybe I should ask if I can bring Bea with me to set for emotional support.
There is a calming silence between the two of us.
Well...that is until Bea decides to interrupt it with a loud yell.
"No way!" My blue haired friend yells out scaring me
I jump from fright, averting my attention away from my nails and towards my ecstatic friends.
"Have you read page one hundred and eight yet?" she asks
I shake my head only to realize that she is still looking at the paper.
"No, why?" I ask back
The blue haired girl finally glances up from my script, an amused but shocked facial expression coming onto her face.
"McKenna's character kisses your character"
The worst possible words that she could have said leave her mouth.
My entire body freezes at her answer.
No.
No! This has to be a mistake!
"What?" The word barely leaves my mouth
Bea nods her head.
"Yeah, twice" she adds
Oh no!
I rip the script out of Bea's hands and bring it up to my face.
I quickly scan over the page for the horrid words.
"Genevieve leans in and kisses Elaine, the two engage in a prolonged kiss," I read out loud
My eyes scan over the stage direction multiple times.
I cannot believe this.
Eventually my mouth begins working again.
"I have to make out with her?!" Is the first thing that leaves my lips
Bea hums at my outburst.
"I'd talk to Sean about this if I were you," she chimes in
"You know how possessive some men are" she continues to go on
I ignore her concerns, fear consuming my every being.
This is it.
I am going to die filming this movie.
