《GAMMA COLE & THE SILVER WOLF》PART 32 - COME BACK TO ME

"Baby, you don't want to fight me." Jay says smoothly as his penetrating eyes watch my every movement. He's trying to play nice, but his body is poised to attack me at any given moment.
I smile sweetly as I stalk forward seeing how dishevelled he looks up closely, his nose has bled badly all down his face and his clothes are all torn up, he looks like he's been run over by a car. But from what I know about Jay Miller is that he should never be underestimated.
"Oh really?" I smirk at him as my wolf eyes glow brightly. "... and why would you think that? Are you scared to fight me now I'm not drugged or tied up?" I mock him.
"Baby..." Jay begins to say as he raises his hands as if in surrender.
Internally my wolf snarls in my head, that little pet name of his getting on our last nerves. We're out for blood and we want to get this over fast so we can find Cole and make sure he's safe.
"It's not too late for us. I know that I can make you happy. Run away with me and I'll treat you like a queen. There's a fire escape ladder at the far end of the roof, all you have to do it take my hand and come with me. I still have friends in the south." Jay pleads.
I look at him with utter disbelief, knowing now that he will never let me go or give up trying to claim me if I let him live.
"I'll never be yours." I say firmly.
Jay face turns deadly at the flip of a coin, his good guy facade slipping as he struggles to his emotions under control.
"Well, you'll never be Coles! He's probably already dead!" Snarls Jay as he loses his temper.
Fuck. Him!
Like lighting, I slam into Jay hard then dart back to where I was standing as if I'd not even moved. Jay stumbles, his eyes grow wide, shocked at how fast I can truly be.
I've spent the last two months training relentlessly every day with the Black Mountains Delta squad for this moment. I've never been so thankful for Lucas for giving me the antidote, for giving me the chance to be the one to take Jay down.

I smirk at Jay once more. My wolf preening in my mind at her power, strength, and speed.
"You're finished Jay. You've betrayed your Alpha, attacked another pack... you had my dad killed." I seethe, finally losing my fake smile.
"Now that was an accident, all I've ever wanted was to keep you safe, just as I promised your brother." Jay tries to reason.
I shoot forward and land a huge hit to Jays stomach making him double up in pain before I return back to my spot in a blur to the eye.
"My brother would have hated you for what you've done to me!" I scream at him in disgust.
"Alice. Baby, please!" Jay grits out through clenched teeth, as he stands back up slowly. He looks like he's about to speak once more when he suddenly pulls a dart from his pocket and throws it at me hard, aiming for my chest, but I catch it using my increased speed and look at it with revulsion before throwing it to the floor.
"You're trying to poison me again?" I growl. My anger turning to liquid fire in my veins.
I'm done.
I charge forward at high velocity and pound blow after blow onto Jay as fast and as hard as I can from every direction before he can block any of my attacks. Jay growls enraged as he can't keep his balance as I shove him closer and closer to the roofs edge.
"Alice, stop!" Jay urges as he tries to lash out at me to block my attacks, but he's just not fast enough.
"Alice, I said stop!" Yells Jay as he stumbles once more from my attack and nearly loses his footing over the roofs edge. "All I ever wanted to do was protect you!"
I stop my attack, so I'm face to face with Jay whose trying hard to find his balance on the roofs edge.
"Sorry baby, did you forget?" I say to him with an evil grin. "I'm a category three. A dangerous wolf and I don't need your protection!"
And with that, I push Jay with everything I have at full speed and throw him off the roof. I step to the edge of the roof and watch as Jay's body falls five floors down as he screams my name before his body crashes to the floor in the middle of the courtyard amongst the fighting wolves below.

My wolf howls in my head loudly with triumph as the reality of Jay being finally gone hits home.
I'm free from Jay, I'm done with running and hiding. I'm so ready to put my past in the past and look to the future...
...and my future is Cole.
I spin around and run towards the smashed-up doorway to get back into the pack house, skipping past several steps on my decent in my hurry.
I frantically use my senses to try and pick up Cole's scent, but gasp when I discover I don't need it as there's a large trail of blood running down the corridor into one of the bedrooms.
My blood turns to ice with panic as I follow the trail, throwing open a door to find Cole's huge body laid out unconscious on the bed and Alpha Drake giving him a blood transfusion. An aged healer is on their knees working on his wound.
I run towards the bed, but Lucas grabs my arm before I can reach it. I turn to look at him with confusion and a frown.
"He's not in a good way Al. Let the healer finish working on him." Lucas says to me seriously.
I bite my lip and nod at him before turning back to look at Cole and my heart winces.
"You get him?" Growls Alpha Drake to me.
"Yeah, Jay's dead." I whisper back, but my eyes are fixed on Cole.
A warm blanket is gently wrapped around my shoulders, I look up momentarily to see that it's Allannah who's draped it around me. A kind smile at her lips as her eyes look down at my thin nightdress and I'm suddenly very aware that I'm practically naked in front of the Alphas.
Grateful, I tug the blanket around me to cover my exposed skin as Allannah returns back to her corner seat curling up in her own blanket. I don't miss Alpha's Drake watching her every move before my eyes return to Cole. His skin looks so pale and discoloured from the blood loss.
Lucas slowly strides to Allannah, rubbing a hand over his neck looking uncomfortable. The Lady of the pack chews her bottom lip nervously, her eyes don't lift from the floor.
"I know we have a lot to discuss, I'll come find you tomorrow. For now, I need to get the pack under control as it's chaos out there. My brother will escort you to your bed chamber and keep you safe." Lucas says kindly.
As soon as Lucas mentions Drake, Allannah peeks a look at the Alpha of the Grey Crescent pack who gives her a small smile back, before she looks back at the floor nodding nervously.
As Lucas leaves, I stand trembling at the end of the bed watching Coles ragged breath and chest move up and down slowly. My eyes run down his body until they land on the large bandage the healer has just finished attaching to his side. The healer removes the transfusion tubes and get to his feet from where he was kneeling.
"I've done all I can do. Now it's down to his wolf to save him. He needs rest and time." The healer says to Drake, his words giving me no comfort as he quietly leaves.
I had no idea Cole was hurt so badly; I curse myself for not finishing Jay off sooner so I could be at his side.
Drake sighs before looking at me. "Coles strong. He's gonna make it." He says quietly, his gruff voice full of emotion. I can tell he's just as worried as I am.
Drake walks over to Allannah and offers his hand to her; she slowly takes it before he gently pulls her up from her seat.
"Come Lady Allannah." Drakes says to the petite blonde she-wolf whose face is burning red from a huge blush that's blossomed across her face. She's too timid and shy to even look at Drake in the eyes but manages another small nod. Drake smiles at Allannah warmly before gently pulling her from the room leaving Cole and I alone at last.
Taking a deep gulp, I slowly walk around the bed and slowly climb in next to Cole. My fingertips run over his face before I plant a slow kiss on his lips as my eyes well with tears.
"I came back to you. Just as you asked." I whisper to Cole. "Now you come back to me."

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
