Mina's POV

Hiring an escort for my family's Christmas party had not been the ideal plan for me this year. I figured I'd just go, get drunk off my mom's secret egg nog and come home to pass out at midnight. However, that was not the case when I found out that my ex fiancé, Jungkook was on the invite list. Why my mother invited him is beyond me. When I addressed her about scratching him off, she claims that he's still good friends with the family. By family she means my father.

Jungkook works at my father's company. When we were engaged and everyone thought we were forever, my father extended the offer for him to join the company. The downside, when we broke up, my father kept him around. They play golf on Sunday's and have lunch on Wednesday's. It's all good with my father. It's torture to me.

All of those past events have lead me to this point. Now I'm sitting on my sofa with a glass of wine and my laptop, looking up escort services. Most of them have a steep price for the evening, but it's totally worth it. Anything to see the look on Jungkook's face when I waltz in with some arm candy and a dress that would make Santa's cookie crumble.

Most of the guys on the site are extremely handsome and well put together, but none of them really catch my eye. That is until, I click on one website and see her. Chaeyoung is her name. She's 26, dark hair, slight chubby cheek but has an attractive jaw, nice plump lips. She also has good posture. She's hot. She's perfect. She's fucking expensive. $1300 a night is quite steep, but it won't even dent my bank account. My only problem is wanting to know what she has to offer that deserves that sort of pay. Does she do magic trick? Juggle? Sing? Does she have penis or a pussy made of solid gold?

Unfortunately, none of those things are specified in her description.

Leaning back against the sofa, I stare at her picture for a while, nibbling on the end of my black card, wondering if she's the one. She seems charming. My mother would love her. My father wouldn't, but that's because he has Jungkook as his guy friend already. He probably thinks that if he keeps Jungkook around then we'd get back together. Absolutely NOT. The Jungkook and Mina agenda is over.

Deciding to just take a leap, I fill out the online questions and when I'm done, I click submit.

Holy shit, I just hired an escort. Hopefully, this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.

A week passes and before I know it, it's the day of the party. My dress, a tight red custom made gown is hanging in the closet, ready for my body to slip into it. Ready to have Jungkook drooling in his Rum and Coke. Ready to wow my escort.

When I get home from work, I drop all my things by the door, kick off my shoes and cut some Christmas music on. For some reason, there's an extra pep in my step at the thought of showing up with Chaeyoung. I haven't had a man or woman on my arm in 10 months and it's been brutal.

After breaking off the engagement with Jungkook, I jumped into work at my art gallery. Pure determination and heart break drove me to sign 6 new artists in the time frame. All are making pretty good money selling their work through me. Before Jungkook, I used to paint myself, but the engagement then the break up stumped my motivation. The asshole stole my happiness.

As I'm digging in the fridge for a quick snack, my phone rings. I don't recognize the number, but I answer anyways.

"Hello" I say, popping a green grape into my mouth.

"Yes, is this Myoui Mina?" A deep voice says and I perk up a bit.

"Yes, it is. Who is this?" I eat another grape.

"This is Chaeyoung."

I choke on the grape.

Coughing, I pat my chest, rushing to the sink for a glass of water.

"Are you okay?" I hear her say, but I continue to cough. Grabbing a glass, I fill it with water before chugging it. The grape goes down and I live.

"I'm fine." My voice croaks and I clear my throat a bit.

I hear Chaeyoung chuckle a bit and it's lovely. "I take it you weren't expecting me to call."

"Um... not exactly. Is there something I can help you with? Is there a problem?"

"Oh, no. I just called to confirm our date." She says and I can almost hear her smiling.

"Yes, we're still on for 8." Nodding, I pop another grape in my mouth, this time chewing it slowly.

"Great. Also, I need to know what you're wearing so I know what to pull out of my closet. I take it this isn't a jean and shirt event."

Like a little school girl, I giggle. "It's formal. I'm wearing a red gown, silver heels."

"Great. That's all I needed. I'm sorry for calling so unexpected."

"No, it's fine. I mean I would feel bad if you'd shown up in jeans and a shirt."

Chaeyoung chuckles again and it's like a melodic song to my ears. I can only imagine her laughing like that in front of me. After hanging up the phone from Chaeyoung, I throw the grapes back in the fridge and head to my room. I only have three hours to get ready and I need to give myself a full spa treatment.

The first thing I do is start a bubble bath in a jet tub. I drop a bath bomb in it for added effect. After putting my hair in large pin curls, I strip and stand in the mirror, applying a green tea face mask. In preparation for tonight, I went and got my legs waxed. Feeling hopeful, I also got a Brazilian wax. Do I think I'm going to have sex with Chaeyoung? No, but you never know. For $1300, anything is possible.

When my bath is done, I slip down in it, body sinking down into the bubbles. The anxieties of being around my upper class, uptight family begins to drain away with each second soaking. I mean they are great people, but they tend to be a little judgmental. I used to be the same way, but when I met Jungkook, I realized that the life I was putting myself in wasn't what I thought.

I wasn't happy yet my family insisted that it was wedding jitters and that I'd be a fool to lose Jungkook. Their words, not mine. Now, I'm actually happy with my life and where it's going. Well, except for being very much single at this point. I've reached an all-time low by hiring someone to be my date for the night.

Once I'm out of the bath, I wash my face and rub down in some lavender body oil before putting on my red bra and pantie set with little rhinestones snowflakes on them. Nothing short of festive.

After doing my makeup and hair, it takes a little longer to slide the gown on seeing as I made the seamstress adjust it to form my body. I'd lost 20 pounds since I ordered the custom dress 6 months ago. I wasn't expecting to go on a health kick after the break up, but it did my body good. I have so much more energy and my body has never been so tone.

After getting it on and zipped, I step in front of my body mirror to make sure everything is in place. The dress is absolutely gorgeous. I hope Chaeyoung likes it. I know she's just an escort, but I want her to actually like me. I don't want to come off as some snobby woman who just needs a date to make an ex jealous. I'm a nice, down to earth woman who needs a date just to make an ex jealous.

At 8, I grab my clutch and dump my phone, credit card, lipstick, and license into it. Opening my night stand, I see a lonesome condom sitting there. Should I take it with me? Shaking my head, I close the drawer. I don't want Chaeyoung to think this is for sex. It's not. This is a paid date. I just need her to impress my parents and make Jungkook jealous.

A few seconds later, my door bell rings. Getting downstairs, I grab my coat and open the door. I'm immediately taken aback. So taken back that my jaw literally drops.

"Mina?"

I nod. "Yes."

Chaeyoung smiles as her eyes run down my body and back up.

"You look gorgeous."

"Thank you." My words and sense come back to me and I return a smile. "Nice suit."

"Just something I had in the closet." She chuckles and it's even more beautiful than it was over the phone earlier. Cutting the lights off, I close the door and lock it as we head out. As we're riding the elevator down, I hold my coat up to put it on and Chaeyoung stops me.

"Here, let me."

"Thanks." I smile, giving it to her. Turning away from her, Chaeyoung puts my coat on, her perfume hitting my sense. As I'm taking in her scent, I hear her inhale deeply, letting me know that she's taking in mine.

"Bvlgari." She mumbles and I nod.

"Smells divine."

"I could say the same for you. Chanel?" I smile as I turn back to her, her brown eyes catching me off guard.

Chaeyoung raises an eyebrow. "Yes, how'd you know?"

"I love that cologne." Thoughts of Jungkook on his birthday come to mind. I'd bought him the cologne, but it literally sat in the box for weeks before I decided to just give it to a friend. He never liked anything I gave him.

"You have good taste." Chaeyoung smiles as the elevator comes to a stop. Outside, I see a limo waiting. Hmm, I was expecting a car, but I'm not going to complain.

"Hope this isn't too over the top. I figured since this is formal, we should take something upscale." Walking through the falling snow, Chaeyoung opens the door for me and I ease in carefully, not wanting to snag my dress on anything. Reaching for the end of my dress, I see that Chaeyoung has already gathered it for me.

"Thank you. Most dates would have just stepped or sat on it." I laugh as Chaeyoung gets in, closing the door. "I like to pay attention to detail. Speaking of, this dress is amazing on you. Not too over the top, but still very sexy."

I don't know why, but I blush. I'm used to compliments, but to get one from a woman who literally spends her days catering to women just does something to me. She knows nothing about me or my background. She doesn't have to compliment me, but it's nice. Even if it's just a part of the job.

"Thanks. I had it made. I could never find a gown that just suited me. I wanted something simple and elegant with a little touch of sensuality. If I could, I'd sleep in this dress. I love it so much." Giggling, Chaeyoung smirks at me and her eyes say something that her mouth isn't. Something that is either insulting or inappropriate, but by the way she's looking, it's definitely inappropriate.

On the way to the party, the car falls silent as I stare out the window, watching the snow fall thicken, wondering what everyone will think. Maybe they will see through this whole charade and I'll look like a fool. Maybe Jungkook will bring someone better than me. That's what scares me the most. The possibility of him finding someone beautiful after hurting me so badly. My parents may like her and tell me I'm a fool for leaving him as if I haven't heard it a million times. It's sad that my own parents look at me like I'm the one who lost a good thing.

"Mina."

I turn at Chaeyoung calling my name. "Huh?"

"Are you okay?"

I force a smile. "I'm fine. Just a little nervous."

"I'm no one to be nervous around. It's just a date." Yeah, a date I'm paying for.

"It's not that. I'm fine around you and it's a little cocky for you to think that you're intimidating to me. I'm nervous about being around my family."

Surprisingly, Chaeyoung doesn't react to me calling her cocky. "Why are you nervous about being with your family?"

"Because they look at me like I'm a failure. Not that I should be telling you any of this, but I'm paying you so you're basically a therapist too." Realizing that I'm starting to sound like a bitch, I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to insult you or your...profession. When I'm upset or nervous, I tend to get a little flip at the mouth."

Chaeyoung sends me a warm smile, "I'm here for you, Mina. And yes, you're paying me, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends or you can't tell me things. I'm still a person. And honestly, I like a little attitude in a woman. I was starting to think you were too sweet."

I snort. "Sweet. I wouldn't exactly use that to explain me. I've been called many things, but sweet isn't one of them."

"Then those people don't know you well. I've only been around you for a short time and I find you very sweet and a little bit of spit fire." Reaching over, Chaeyoung runs the back of her fingers down my bare arm, creating little chill bumps. For some reason the small contact calms me down. My eyes lock on her as her hand remains on my arm, caressing my skin softly. It isn't until the driver hits a bump in the road that our moment breaks.

For the rest of the ride, we don't speak, but except for going through the things she should expect from my family. I didn't tell her about Jungkook, because I just didn't want to talk about her to Chaeyoung. I should have, but I didn't. I rather her not know Jungkook is the real reason I hired her.

When the driver pulls up to my parent's large home, she comes around and opens the door for us. Chaeyoung exits and waits for me with her hand out. Taking it, I carefully get out. On my two feet, I look up at Chaeyoung, smiling softly. We make our way up to the door where there are two reporters and a few camera's waiting. Crap, I totally forgot about the reporters. Before I have time to brief Chaeyoung, they come over to me as we're walking up.

"Mina, how are you feeling this evening? How much do you think you're going to raise this year? Who's your date this evening? We heard exclusively that your ex Jeon Jungkook is in attendance. Is that true? How are you handling the failed relationships?" They pile drive me with questions and I force a smile.

"I'm fine and we hope to raise $500,000 for the Santa Claus foundation. This event is strictly for the children who need a little extra help from Santa to get presents. I doubt your questions about my personal life will get a little girl her own American Doll or a little boy a life size Darth Vader. So please, if it isn't about charity, don't ask. Thank you."

Chaeyoung squeezes my hand as the door man greets us. The reporters try to shoot out more questions, but we're already in the house. Chaeyoung takes off my coat and checks it with hers. Taking a deep breath, I look at Chaeyoung.

"Sorry about all that."

"It's fine. You answered beautifully. Even though when I was a younger, I wanted a Red Rider BB Gun."

"Did you get it?" I smirk.

"Hell no. I could have shot my eye out."

I burst out laughing as Chaeyoung places her hand on my back. When we get to the main room, the doors are opened and the event is already in full swing. A few eyes fall on me and Chaeyoung, but I try to ignore them until I recognize two set of eyes belonging to my parents.

"Mina Baby, you look absolutely ravishing!" My mother approaches with a glass of champagne in hand. She engulfs me in a hug and it's even tighter than the dress. When she pulls back, my father steps in.

"Hello, Dad" I mumble.

"Hello, dear. Who is this young woman?" He doesn't believe in wasting time.

"This is Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung, these are my parents, Darla and Manson Myoui." Both of my parents eye her up and down as Chaeyoung smiles. "Nice to meet you both."

"What do you do, young woman?" My Dad asks.

"I'm a lawyer."

I look up at Chaeyoung who simply smiles and wraps her arm around my waist, pulling me tightly against her side. My Dad frowns, but tries to cover it.

"Well, good profession I suppose. So how long have you and my little girl been together?"

"We just met recently, I didn't know if it would be right for me to come, but she's very persistent." She chuckles. Her smile not even reaching her eyes. Damn, she's good.

"Maybe, you can persuade Mina here to join the family business. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. She's some hippy artist with a little gallery." He waves his hand around like my accomplishments are nothing. Tensing up, I frown. "Dad, please don't."

"It's the truth. You should talk to Jungkook and see if-"

"Not now, Dad. Just stop! I'm here with Chaeyoung." I frown, feeling Chaeyoung's hand flex on my side.

"Darling your father is just trying to help. Surely, you and Jungkook can be civil." She giggles, but nothing is funny.

"I can't believe you two. Chaeyoung is right here and you're talking about Jungkook." I roll my eyes.

"You're the one who broke up with him sweetie. It was your loss. You can't blame us for liking him. Maybe had you been worrying about the marriage more than yourself then it would have worked out. Our little girl can be quiet self-centered at times." My father chimes in, sipping his Brandy.

"I'm not sure we're discussing the right Chaeyoung. This woman right here is absolutely amazing. Might get me to settle down soon enough. I'd like to meet the man who lost out on this one." Chaeyoung smiles, kissing my temple and I'm at a loss for words. So damn good. I'm about to say something when someone comes into my side vision.

"Mina."

I cringe at the voice. Looks like Chaeyoung will get to me the guy who "lost" me sooner than later. Turning, I look at Jungkook. His smug smile and arrogance showing.

"Jungkook." I mumble.

He steps to me and pecks my cheek before I can move away. "You look amazing."

"Thank you. Jungkook, this is my date Chaeyoung." I watch them shake hands and Jungkook flinches. "Nice grip."

When Chaeyoung lets go, Jungkook flexes his hand. I peek up at Chaeyoung and she winks at me. Jungkook hugs each of my parents like he's their long lost son or something. The sight of them makes me uncomfortable. When they finally break apart, Jungkook stares at me for a moment before clearing his throat.

"Mina, can't I have a moment alone with you?"

"No." I say, quickly causing my mother to frown. "Of course you can, dear. Come Manson."

"Chaeyoung, why don't you come with me. Let's talk legal woes while these two catch up." My father says with a sly grin on his face. I want to object, but my father already has his hand on Chaeyoung's shoulder nudging her from my reach. My mother gives me a small smile before going off to get another drink, most likely.

I slowly turn back to Jungkook who is grinning like a complete fool. I don't say anything as he runs his disgusting eyes over my. "Mm, Mina, I could just eat you up."

"And I could just knee you in the balls."

"Ooo, feisty as ever. Can't say I miss that mouth. So who's the girl toy? Surely, she isn't jiggling your Christmas bells like I used to." Jungkook chuckles as I frown. His sex was mediocre at best. I hardly ever came and if I did it was with the help of my fingers. Partial credit isn't enough, buddy.

"Don't be a pervert, Jungkook. It's not attractive. You're a pig."

Jungkook steps to me and I step back, slightly, not wanting to trip over my dress. Jungkook smirks, reaching his hand forward. His fingers graze over my cleavage and I smack it away.

"Don't touch me!"

"Oh come on, Mina. It's been months. You can't still be angry."
