Today's the day. You're going on a long awaited hiking trip with your friends.

But, not only are your friends going, but some of your friends friends, along with their friends, are also attending, which means there's quite a bit of people.

But the more the merrier, right?

It didn't affect you much, as you were quite content going with a large lively crowd, though the crowd did consist of a lot, and I mean, A LOT, of soulmates.

Everywhere you looked you could see two people sweetly holding each other's hands and being all lovey dovey.

You would gladly contribute to the amount of people acting sweet, but, as much as you wanted to, you needed a partner first.

You let out a small sigh as you looked away from the couples, and focused on a little stretching before the hike started.

Once everyone had made it, the huge crowd of people began to make their way towards the base of the mountain, and everyone began going up towards the top.

You walked with friends, making small talk and having a blast, except the entire time you had an uneasy feeling in your heart, making the hike a little less enjoyable.

You could tell it was your soulmate, probably in danger once again.

This uneasy feeling was a common occurrence in your years of existence, and you could tell, just from the amount of times that you have felt your heart sink that your soulmate was a very clumsy and or reckless person.

You let out a small breath as you continued to climb up the mountain, the uneasiness creeping behind you as you made your way up the muddy dirt path.

You decided to stop and take a break, falling a little behind, but it didn't matter much to you.

As you admired what scenery you could see from a little over halfway up the tall tall mountain, you noticed a small male, with messy (uke hair colour) locks that were bouncing up and down as he struggled a little to walk upwards.

He seemed to have fallen or tripped over something, as there was quite a bit of mud on his clothing.

You walked down a little to go and help the male, but before you could reach him and say hello, he had tripped over himself and fell down, over the edge of the path.

"Watch out!" You cried, dashing forwards to try and grab him and possibly save him from falling down the steep mountain side.

Luck unfortunately wasn't on your side, and you, along with your heart, dropped down the rocky mountain side.

You had the other male in a tight hug as you could feel your body come in touch with the bottom of the mountain, and your heart had felt as if it had plummeted down as well.

You ignored the feeling, as there was something much more important that you had to take care of first.

"Are you alright?" You asked the other male, who had sat up and rubbed his leg.

"I think so.. My leg hurts a lot though," he replied in a small yet sweet voice.

"It looks bent in an odd angle," You commented, feeling a chill down your spine. "Can you move it at all?"

The other male tried, but immediately winces in pain, and shook his head.

"You probably broke it when we fell," You said with a soft sigh.

After repositioning to under a tree, you sat down, and pulled out your phone to call your friends, to inform them on your situation. However, luck really wasn't on your side, as your phone was smashed from the fall.

"Could I borrow yours?"

"I-it's broken as well.."

"Oh, alright then. Looks like we'll just have to wait until someone notices we're gone," You said, stretching before sitting down next to the other male.

"What's your name?"

"(U/n), what about you."

"My name is (Y/n), pleasure to meet you, (U/n)," You greet with a smile.

(U/n) smiles back, and shakes your hand.

With a lot of time on hand, the two of you talked a lot, mainly getting to know each other more. You quickly learned that (U/n) was a very clumsy male, and couldn't help but think of your clumsy soulmate, though you thought the odds of someone you had just met would be your soulmate was way too low, and in such a cliche manner as well.

You could feel the uneasiness from before fade away the more you talked with the other male.

(U/n) had told many stories of times he was clumsy, and you couldn't help but notice they all lined up with times you had a rather strong uneasy feeling, which lead to you being a bit suspicious.

Maybe he was the one? The soulmate you'd been searching a looking for. Was he right in front of your eyes?

"Ah! Ow.." You heard the small male hiss, as another chill was sent down your spine and bringing you out of your thoughts.

You could see a cut along (U/n)'s palm, as he probably cut himself along a sharp rock, and could immediately feel the uneasiness again, which lead you to believe that your thoughts were correct.

"You're my soulmate," You blurted out, realizing your words a moment after and immediately heating up from embarrassment.

You tried to keep cool and went to treat the cut wound, getting out some rubbing alcohol you carried in case of emergencies, and began to treat the wound.

You felt calm, and a great sense of protection. Without a doubt in your heart, you could tell you've found the one. Your one and only soulmate.

You could tell (U/n) knew too, from the way his cheeks were brushed with a light pink blush, and from how he was nervously biting his bottom lip and occasionally gazing up at your face.

"Does it still hurt?" You asked, referring to the (uke hair colour) haired males hand.

"Mm, not really. T-thank you," he mumbled, turning around and hiding his face.

He's definitely the one, you thought to yourself, siting still and waiting for your friends to notice your disappearance.

About half an hour later, you could hear your friends calling out for you above, and it took a little shouting to get them to realize your location.

After explaining what had happened, and getting your friends to call your soulmate an ambulance, you and (U/n) arrived at the hospital to get both of your wounds checked out.

While you only had a could scratch, (U/n) had broken his leg, and would need to be in a cast. You thanked the doctor for his time and left to go check up on your soulmate.

As you quickly navigated your way around to the room (U/n) was in, you couldn't help but think about your new discovery. You were lost in your thoughts as your feet auto piloted to the room (U/n) had been put in after his examination.

You knocked, and could hear the sweetest sounding "come in," before opening the door.

"There's nothing serious going on with the broken bone, right?" You asked with concern, walking up to him to see how he was doing.

"Nope, just needs time to heal," he replied with a grin, as if breaking his leg was a perfectly normal action.

You let out a sigh of relief, knowing nothing too serious or life changing would be going on.

But you did know that what you were about to say would be a life changing moment.

"(U/n), I know we've only met just a couple hours ago, but like I said while we were down there, you are my soulmate, and I would like to do anything I can to protect you. You don't have to date me yet, we can start as friends if you wish, but, I do hope that maybe one day, we could form a relationship."

The smaller male giggled, and looked at you with warm and loving eyes.

"How about, we start a relationship then, (Y/n)? A romantic one, to be specific."

You grinned, and without saying anything in advance, leaned in to press a sweet kiss, on your soulmate, and lover's lips.

And at that moment, you knew, that there would be many more kisses, just like this one, to come.
