His pale hand was clenched so tightly around his phone that he thought it might crack the screen. Gon always answered the phone. Always.

His next best bet was to give either Kurapika or Leorio a call. He knew neither of them slept much actually. Leorio was usually studying or working perhaps. He often was in the library or up at unreasonable hours. And he only knew because they had a group chat that Leorio would frequently text in. Kurapika however, was usually working. Kil wondered if he should interrupt the blonde, maybe not. He might be doing something important. Then again, Kurapika was rarely ever using his phone. And if he did it was for work and only that, basically.

The panicked male finally looked back at his phone, dialing his doctor friend's number. He'd do anything to find Gon, everyone knew that. Gon always knew he was safe will Killua, no matter the circumstances. They had a very close bond, always believing in each other.

When Leorio picked up Killua wasn't surprised at the tired groaning and complaining that came from the other end of the phone. Leorio wasn't a big morning person. But the moment the male with the glasses sensed something was up he stopped complaining. He sat up straight in his bed where he'd been sleeping since about 4 or 5 in the morning. He'd been studying for an unreasonable amount of time. "What's up, Killua?" He spoke, tone slightly full of worry.

"It's Gon. I don't know where he is. I swear I was with him just last night but when I woke up this morning I couldn't find him." The younger male explained, suppressing the panic in his voice to sound stable. He tightly held his phone as he spoke with the older man. "I have to find him soon."

"Where was he last? Have you spoken with Kurapika?"

"I didn't want to interrupt anything Kurapika was doing. He was last in the guest room but no one else was in there when I looked." Killua explained.

"Could it.." Leorio paused for a quick second. "Could it have something to do with your brother? Maybe what's left of the Phantom Troupe?"

And at the mention of his brother, a shiver shot down the silver-haired one's spine. That couldn't be. Why would Illumi do something like this? It had been a little while since they dealt with him so why now? There was no way Illumi would do this to him.

"I didn't think about it that way.." The panicked young one mumbled into the phone. Leorio leaned back against a pillow and adjusted himself before putting his phone back up to his ear.

"I can try my best to call Gon and maybe get ahold of Kurapika." He spoke.

"I'll try searching for Gon, let me know if you find anything." Defeated, the blue-eyed one hung up the phone and placed it into his pocket. He stepped down the hallway, glancing back into the guest room one more time to see if his brain was maybe playing tricks on him. But it wasn't. This was reality and Gon really wasn't there at all. Not even a trace of him was there besides one of his green coats laying on the edge of the mattress. Something terrible must've happened. At least that's what Killua thought but maybe he was overthinking everything.

Then all of this panic would've been for nothing. His buddy might've gone home or something and went to sleep maybe that's why he wasn't answering. But that wasn't something he would do, he'd leave a note or a voicemail. He'd definitely leave something, not just a jacket. Plus, the brown-eyed one wouldn't just leave either. Unless there was an emergency.. maybe there was. Maybe there was something up with Mito or Kurapika. But if it was Kurapika, Killua would've gone with. He couldn't understand what was going on. And it wasn't Leorio, the doctor was perfectly fine at the moment.

He grabbed the coat from off the bed, stepping quickly towards the front door and slipping on his shoes before leaving the house. Maybe he could.. call his brother and see if anything was suspicious. Illumi was hard to read even for him and they were related. Or maybe Hisoka had something to do with all of this. He wouldn't be surprised if that was true. He didn't know why but the clown always hung around his brother, they were probably good friends although they had opposite personalities really. Illumi simply was here to do his job, to promote it to his family, to kill. Hisoka was there for the fun, to fight, and to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. He was just that type of guy.

It was chilly out and snow had been falling all morning and night. It was still a little dark out and the sun was barely rising, the clouds covered everything so even if the sun was totally up in the sky the day would still be grey. It was nearing Christmas time so the weather wasn't surprising. In fact it was the least of the male's worries of course.

As the snow began to fall harder, it got colder but shops were opening at this hour. It was the time of year when people bought gifts for their loved ones so opening hours were set back along with closing hours.

The sweets shop smelled of caramel and sugar. The employees had gotten started on their day just fifteen minutes ago and Gon... my god this boy. His phone had died about an hour and a half ago so it took him a while to find the place. He was there to get a surprise for his beloved, Killua. He noticed this morning that the other male was having some sort of uncomfortable nightmare and it worried him, instinctively. He was there early to pick up their chocolates. He knew they'd restocked so he'd be the first one there of course to get the silver-haired male's favourite sweets.

They were often sold out by the end of the day too, Gon had read reviews and was smart about it even though he was kind of a simpleton sometimes. He had no idea he was worrying Killua to the bone. And freezing him to death since he was being searched for.

A bright smile appeared on his lips when the shop's door opened and an employee he'd seen around town let him inside. He removed his hands from the pocket of the green winter coat that had been keeping him warm all that time then let out a sigh. "Thanks for letting me inside." He spoke, sounding cheery. Most people would be grumpy at this time of day, all of them heading to work in the snow. Nobody liked it, but Gon was different from them. Always positive.

He walked around slowly, making sure he'd went around and looked at everything before getting and paying for what he needed. He was careful with these sorts of things and wanted his friends to be completely satisfied and comfortable. He was always a people pleaser.

"See ya! Thank you!" The young male shouted to the employees at the shop before waving his hand goodbye and exiting the warmth of the building. He stepped back out into the cold, holding onto a paper bag and placing his other hand in his pocket before striding back to Killua's place. He figured both Killua and Alluka would still be there, hopefully.

"He isn't around town, I can't seem to find him." Again, Killua was repressing the panic that continued to build up inside him as he spoke on his cellphone with the eldest of the group.

"Stay calm, we'll find him. You know Gon, he always gets out of tough situations with that hard head of his." Spoke the taller man, now pacing around the apartment he stayed in. It was near the library so it was rather convenient.

"Alright, I'll keep looking. There's a couple spots I haven't checked yet."

-

"I'm home!" Announced the green one when he opened up the door. It wasn't locked just like he'd left it earlier this morning so the other two must still have been asleep. Gon slipped off his shoes and stepped down the hallway, coat still on. He peeked into the room his buddy stayed in but there was nobody there and the sheets had been tossed to the side. "Where'd Killua go?" He spoke to himself, glancing around like a lost puppy for a moment before turning on his heels and heading to the living room. He waited for a bit until he began to get worried.

But that's when he heard the doorknob turn and a tired looking male stepped inside as he slipped off his signature purple sneakers. "No luck... It has to be my brother." Killua looked as if he were going to cry, staring at the ground. And Gon didn't hesitate to swiftly run up to the other male and embrace him in a tight and warm hug. Only to which the other's blue eyes widened in surprise and for a split second he pulled away. "Gon?! I've been looking for you forever!" He snapped although he was genuinely relieved to see the other.

"My phone died!" Replied the other boy in protest. "I was getting you a surprise since you were having a nightmare." And then a smile reappeared on his face, handing over the bag of sweets he'd retrieved.

"This early in the damn morning!? You moron!" Killua landed a smack right on the back of Gon's head, receiving a pout and a laugh from the other male as he began to laugh himself.

Gon was really okay, he was so glad.
