He snapped his eyes open, it was pitch black as if he had been falling mindlessly into a bottomless pit. He pushed himself up but sucked in his breath as a sharp jolt of pain spread throughout his entire body. He didn't know where he was or what was going on but soon, he heard his name and noticed a tiny flash of light.
"Killua? Are you doing alright?" It wasn't Gon, it wasn't anyone he knew and when he looked up he saw a young woman holding a flashlight. She clicked it off and flicked on the lights. "Good morning!" She exclaimed to him.
"Where am I? Who are you?" Killua asked. He seemed a bit delusional but maybe it was just the drugs they put on him to ease the pain. The injured boy looked around as if he hadn't seen light for ages. He had a confused expression stuck on his face, his eyebrows pulled up as if he were worried and his lips were slightly parted.
"You're in the hospital and I'm your nurse. You can call me Lilith." She said as she stared over at him and pulled in a short cart. "I need to check your vitals and take a blood sample from you."
"Oh..." He replied quietly, slumping down in the bed as she stepped close to him. As soon as she had finished he felt a needle sliding out of his arm. It felt incredibly familiar but he was so worn that he didn't mind it.
"Heartbeat seems normal." Lilith pointed out, sounding gentle as ever. He only nodded in response. He glanced up at her and noted her creepy features. Long, dark red hair that reached passed her knees. She was thin and bony and her deep eyes were like the thick fog on a rainy, cold day. She wasn't all that tall either and her nurse outfit was different from the others. The others wore white gowns that reached to their knees, always holding a clipboard and a pencil with a pair of small slip-on shoes and a tiny hat that laid atop their heads. Lilith however, wore a lab coat, it was white and she had a hat too. Was she a doctor instead?

"I'll be back to check your vitals in an hour!" She exclaimed and exited the dimly lit room, interrupting his thoughts and causing him to pay her words attention. Where was Gon? That was the only thing he was thinking about at the moment. The last time he saw Gon was when he-
"I'll see you in a bit!" Lilith grinned at him and he practically stared her down as she exited the room, closing the door behind her and shooting him an intimidating and dark stare with a wide grin before she disappeared down the hallway.

The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain).
