Smash!
Jolting up from your dreamless slumber you heard glass breaking somewhere in the house. You quietly got off the bed and put on your shoes, looking in your bag you found your trusted flashlight and got up off the floor.
Slinging the bag over your shoulder you crept quietly down the hallway, alert while checking every room looking for the old lady. While looking around you found there was hardly any furniture in this house and no lady in sight, you made your way to the front room to find one of the large windows where smashed in.
Slowly you heard something creeping up behind you, a snarl like a wild animal was greeting another hostile animal. Slowly you turned to see what was behind you.
It was a very pale man hunched over with no shirt on, sharp claws and shark like teeth. Eyes swollen in and glowing an ice cold blue colour. The creature wields an axe that looks like a sharp stone has been tied to piece of carved wood, looking like an axe handle, by a piece of faded ragged cloth.
Eyes widened as the beast like man charged after you, your legs frozen and your eyes closed tight.
Suddenly all you hear is a loud crunch.
Opening your eyes you see a man in a dark brown trenchcoat with a crinkled top wielding a massive hammer, the head of it planted firmly in the head of the monster like man. It's brains and blood popping out of it's shattered skull, covering the part of the hammer that's inside it and leaking onto the floor.
The smell was absolutely unbearable. Yes you've watched a lot of horror movie but you've never seen anything like this in real life, the extreme detail, smell and absolute terror in your mind made you feel like you're going to faint. But mentally your trying to stop that from happening.
The man turned around to look at you. He had round black glasses, dark brown hair that went down his chin with a short scruffy beard to match. In a deep but somehow sweet way he spoke to you, "Hello, Beautiful. You're not from around here, aren't you?"

You couldn't take it any longer: the gory imagery and nasty blood smell was too much to handle, you felt your knees and eyelids give way and soon enough you felt yourself falling to the floor and eyes shutting. The only thing off in this moment is that you didn't hit the floor, instead you felt your body's been caught by two strong feeling arms. Before your mind shut down you could hear him chuckle and say, "Mother Miranda's going to love you."
Soon enough you found yourself fading in and out of consciousness, instead of being inside a house you've found yourself inside a cave and laying on something hard and in an unusual way. Finding yourself watch the ground underneath you move, your tired mind realising what's happening: you're being carried on someone's should.
Groaning at the discomfort you're feeling you hear a male voice right near your head respond to your tired groans, "Quite your whining; we're almost there!"
Too tired to look around your eyes became heavy and shut once more, cursing yourself for blacking out once more.
In the darkness you can hear a pompous posh female voice cut through the silence of your mind, disturbing the peace and quiet of your rest, "The mortal is of no use to anyone else and only recently has my daughters' killed off the last of our servants. I could use with a new maid and if you give them to me in return, when my daughter's slaughter them I'll drain their blood for you."
In half of that proposal you opened your eyes and tried to sit up, noticing that your chained to the floor. Looking up you find yourself staring at a deformed creature, a doll pushing it out of the way crying out to look at you. Squealing out and turning to informing the others that you've awoken.
"You two shut the fuck up!" And annoyed man's voice shouted at the doll and beast, causing the both of them to retreat. The voice came from your right, your saviour, the man from before.

On your left was an extremely tall lady. Skin white as porcelain with a matching white dress and a big black hat, this was definitely the woman who was speaking earlier. She gave you an evil smile, you didn't like the looks of it.
In the middle of them all there was a woman standing on an interesting looking rug, she was dressed head to toe in feathers like a raven or a crow. Wearing a bird skull like mask, looking at all the people around her.
"You mean you want another human pet to mess with?" You looked over at the man from before, he was now talking to the big lady and continued,"Give them to me, I'm the only one here that's hardly any play things. Donna's had dozens, you've had more then hundreds and Moreau has enough friends in his little reservoir."
"Oh, so gauche." The vampire lady instantly retorted, obviously no happy with his words.
The bird lady then entered the conversation, "I've heard all your argument. Some of you where less persuasive than others, but..."
"I've made my decision." She paused for a moment like she's pretending to decide to build a little bit of suspense on her decision:
"Heisenberg. The mortal's fate is in your hands."
Your heart skipped a beat, hearing the handsome man's name gave you butterflies and you don't know why. To be honest it did suit him very well.
"Mother Miranda, I must protest!" The tall lady stood up, now she was on her feet your eyes widened at how tall she really was. Probably over 11 foot tall, "Heisenberg is but a child, and his devotion to you is questionable."
The tall lady started to walk towards you, her cigarette stick in hand and stopping right in front of you. Heisenberg gets up off his sofa like chair and walks up to her, standing closer to you like he was protecting his property.
Not noticing him she continues, "Give the mortal to me."
"Shut your damn hole!" He shouted at her, using some sort of supernatural ability to call his massive hammer to his hand and continued, "-and don't be a sore loser! Go find your food somewhere else."
"-Quiet now child! Adults are talking." She shouted back.
"I'm the child? you're the one that's arguing with Miranda's decision!" Heisenberg shouted once more at the tall woman. You don't know why but him defending you from the vampire like woman has made you feel like you have butterflies in your stomach. It was nice that someone's defending you, it's a nice change.
Now the conversation has turned into a shouting match between the two.
"You wouldn't no responsibility if it was welded on that hammer!"
"Oh, keep growing, one day your head might actually fit your ego!"
The little doll in the background started giggling and shouting "fight, fight, fight!"
You where extremely flattered about him defending you but this entire situation has become extremely uncomfortable, causing you to chirp in with a: "Hey, don't I get a say in this?"
"Silence!" Miranda shouted, causing everyone in the room to go silent. She didn't look too pleased with them all and then took dominance of the conversation once more, "My decision is final, there will be no argument. Remember from whence you came!"
Heisenberg bowed his head and thanked her, meanwhile the lady walked off in smug defeat.
After a moment he then turned around and approached you, hammer still in hand and he raised it above his head like he was going to hit you with it. You embraced yourself by trying to gain some distance from you two, well as much as you can, shutting your eyes tight when you saw the hammer coming down.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
