The galaxy eats the sky,

That's all I've ever known.

Even when the sun sets,

That's all it's ever shown.

The buildings are the sky,

That's all that's ever happened.

Even when my feet stay still,

What more could I've imagined?

The lampposts live as buildings,

Skyscrapers in the sky.

Little pricks of sunlight,

Gazing up so very high.

Bright even in the darkness,

It's the city that never sleeps.

It thrums with the energy,

And dances to the beats.

Watching the people go by,

I let go of all my strife.

Because this is my world.

And this is nightlife.
