Everything was so carefree,
I never would've pictured my life now
So weighted and unfree.
Back then my parents and I never fought
I played from dawn to dusk,
But now that many years have passed
I am only a simple husk.
The best friends I had left me
And others were so mean,
They were finally taking off their masks
Finally coming clean.
I was left in the dust
Holding onto things that didn't matter,
I didn't want to grow up
And the world I knew shattered.
But that's all okay now
I figured out who I want to be,
Even if I'm a child at heart
I never not want to be me.
