《Poems》Let the Cleaning Service Die

I thought it would be fun

To see what my mom did

When I was away at school,

So I asked her if I can come with.

I thought it would be fun

To watch the bubbles

Make rainbows on the water,

Splashing along the tiles

In the bathroom,

Or to watch as the gray rag

Picked up the dust along

The pink bedroom walls.

I thought it would be fun

To bond with my mom

While dancing to her 90's music

And scraping sticky stuff

Off the wood flooring

In the kitchen,

Or climbing up the tall walls

To get the spiderwebs

Down from their perches

In the living room.

I thought it would be fun

To get paid for my hard work-

Even in the many years afterward-

Even when I'm old and grey.

I thought it would be fun.

It wasn't.
