《Poems》Perspective of a Jacket

A lump of grey when

The weather made goosebumps

And freezed patterns on bubbles.

Bundled with when the snow

Outside matched the ice

Falling from the sky.

Needed when so

Anxious that hands hid.

Frayed with worries

And age.

A wall of fire

Fighting against the

Onslaught of snowflakes

Not yet melted from the blaze.

Thrown away as soon as

Possible.

Fashion accessory.

Nothing more.

The light in a dying sky.

A saving grace

Of shelter.

A flicker of hope in an otherwise

Frosty night.

A soft stone.

Large as a nest.

Tunnels that protect against

Monsters of murder.

Dead weight in the arms of

Zephyr.

Swept aside

Like smoke of a chimney.

Last thought on the wind.

Mountains and valleys

Of stone swamped with holes.

Exhaustion

Carried on top

Of stormy clouds.

A speck glimpsed down upon--

Rushed past.

Molded, muddied, massacred.

Left behind.

Unique in its own beauty

Yet part of something

Bigger

Than itself.

Held the world safely

In its hands.

Protected against those

Inflicting harm.

A family, a home, a hearth.

Together we were united.

Divided--

We fell.
