McCree came down to the kitchen. Angela was there preparing a dish.
"Hey Angie."
She looked up.
"Oh, hello Jesse."
"Whatcha makin'?"
"Genji returns tonight, so I thought I'd make his favorite meal. He enjoys these poke bowls with crab and..."
"Wait, Genji is coming tonight?!" McCree asked.
"Y-yes?"
"Oh god."
The door opened. Hanzo sat up to see Jesse come in with a bowl of soup. He sat on the edge of the bed and scratched his head and handed Hanzo the bowl.
"What is it Jesse?"
"I've gotten some...news." Jesse said a bit afraid to speak.
"What kind of news?" Hanzo asked taking a sip of soup.
"I just found out that Genji is coming in...tonight."
Hanzo starred wide eyed and nearly spit the soup from his mouth. He did his best to swallow the rest.
"What?!" Hnazo exclaimed.
McCree sighed wiping Hanzo's face off.
"That's what Angie said." Jesse explained.
"How does Angela know him so well?"
"Back in our Blackwatch days Angela and Genji were really close. I never knew why. To be honest I kinda miss the guy."
"I-I am not ready to face him!" Hanzo exclaimed.
"Darlin', it's to late to 'be prepared'. You gotta face him. He's your brother. I'm sure he wants this to work out just as bad as you do."
Hanzo took a deep breath.
"Okay. I will be downstairs tonight."
"You sure you're feelin' alright?"
"Yes, I will manage, love. I-I am ready."
Later that night, Hanzo never came to dinner. Genji was greeted by everyone but Hanzo. It got late. Hanzo finally decided to go downstairs. He walked from his room and turned a corner, bumping into someone, hard.
"Excuse me, I..."
He gasped looking up.
"G-genji?"
"Hello brother."
"I uh..."
"Jesse told me you were a bit under the weather. I hope you feel better soon." Genji said kindly.
Hanzo was speachless. Genji put his hand to Hanzo's shoulder.
"You shouldn't be out of bed, brother. Get some rest."
He smiled under his mask before walking away. Hanzo wondered why his brother was acting this way. He was being, nice? After everything he had done to him. Hanzo smiled and chuckled a bit.
"Maybe he really has forgiven me." He looked down solemnly. "But can I forgive myself?"
That night McCree came back to their room. Hanzo was lying in bed trying to process his encounter with Genji. McCree looked over as the door closed.
"Hey, how ya feelin'?"

"Better."
"Did you see Genji?"
Hanzo froze in silence. He felt his body tense up. Genji's appearance flashed past his face as he tried to gather his thoughts.
"I-I did."
"And?"
"I didn't know what to think. I only saw someone I killed. Someone who I believed was gone, because of me. Now he looks like...that. All because of me."
"You have to forget about that darling."
"I can't forget about something like that."
McCree sighed and looked down. He nodded a bit.
"Maybe not, but you need to forgive yourself. Genji has forgiven you. He's just...nice like that."
Hanzo sighed and got back under the covers. McCree took off his boots and set his hat on the dresser. He climbed into bed with Hanzo and wrapped his arms around him.
"You'll get over it love. I know you will."
Hanzo looked over his shoulder.
"I'm still sick."
McCree nuzzled his face into the back of Hanzo's neck.
"I'll take my chances for you darlin'."
-----
"An omnic monk?"
"Yes Jesse, he has trained and traveled with me over these last eight years. He has decided to join Overwatch as well. You'll be meeting him later this evening."
"Amazing. Can't wait!"
Hanzo walked in.
McCree turned and smiled.
"Hey Hanz. How you feelin'?"
Hanzo looked to see Genji sitting next to Jesse. He quickly turned his gaze to McCree.
"I'm feeling much better today." Hanzo replied.
"Genji was just telling me about his training in Nepal. He's had quite the adventure."
"Yes, I have found peace brother. My master, Zenyatta, is very wise." Genji explained.
"Who is he?"
"An omnic monk from the Shambali monastery."
Hanzo sat with them.
"Your master is an omnic?"
"Of course. All the monks at the monastery are omnics, but I don't believe my master liked how they were teaching, so we left and have been traveling ever since."
"I just didn't think omnics had the ability to master such arts."
"They are a lot more talented than you think, brother. I understand though. Lots of people underestimate omnics."
"They don't exactly have good background, but I've learned to like em. Hanzo...not so much."
"Jesse, don't." Hanzo said sharply.
"It's ok Hanz." McCree sighed. "I'm gonna go fill my drink. Genji, you want anything?"
"Actually I um, brought a bottle of Saké to celebrate. It's my brothers favorite. I'll go get it."
"Thanks Genji."
When Genji left the room McCree studied Hanzo's face.

"Jesse?"
"Comfortable yet?"
"I...am learning."
"Good."
Genji returned with a large bottle of Sake.
"Nice, I'll grab some glasses." McCree said rushing out of the room.
Hanzo cursed under his breath. Genji sat down and looked at him.
"So brother? I've heard you have gotten into a pretty good relationship with Jesse. Are the rumors true?" Genji asked.
Hanzo swallowed hard.
"They are."
"Tell me, what about Jesse intrigues you?"
Hanzo was hesitant. Genji could feel the tension.
"Brother, it is ok. Jesse and I are good friends."
"He...is very understanding. Funny and kind. We feel safe together. He has saved me in more ways than I can count. He has an entertaining personality."
"That is great Hanzo." Genji said. "I am happy for you."
"Thankyou."
McCree came back in with the glasses.
"Alrighty, I got the glasses. Let's celebrate!"
He began pouring the wine and handing out glasses to Hanzo and Genji. He poured one for himself and held it up.
"What shall we drink to?" Jesse asked.
"...To family." Genji replied.
"Alright then. To family."
They all touched glasses and drank.
"It feels good to be home."
"We're glad to have ya back Genji. Right Hanz?"
Hanzo looked a bit skeptical, but grinned.
"Of course, it is good to see you brother."
"I cannot wait to fight beside you both."
For a brief moment there was no tension. The three of them felt unstoppable together. They felt like family. At the dinner table that night everyone felt like that. They felt unstoppable when they were with their family. Everyone laughed together and occasionally threw scraps of food across the table. The ladies put the boys in check, but that's just what families do. They help eachother and keep them in line. When Hanzo and McCree looked at one another that night, they felt all the love they could ever want.
"I missed him, every day I missed him. Now he is here. We will soon fight along side one another and gain a better bond."
"That's good love. I'm happy you're finally getting along with Genji. Somehow I didn't notice before that he has a thing for Angie?"
Hanzo looked up in shock.
"Angela?! Not a chance. She's way too good for him." Hanzo exclaimed.
"I agree, but honestly they get along very well. I could honestly see Angela falling for him."
McCree climbed into bed.
"Anyway, that's not really our business. Just like no one has to know about us."
"Are you trying to keep it a secret?"
"I really don't talk about it unless the conversation comes up darlin'."
"Then how did Genji find out?"
"The conversation came up."
Hanzo chuckled.
"I don't see any reason to keep it a secret."
"I don't see any reason to promote it love."
Hanzo sighed.
"I understand your concern."
Hanzo climbed into bed snuggling next to McCree. McCree pulled out his holophone and pulled up a page on a vacation home in Dorado. Hanzo looked over just before he closed the page.
"What was that?" Hanzo asked.
"Uh...n-nothin'."
"Jesseee!" Hanzo exclaimed grabbing for the phone.
"Hey quit it! You're still sick!"
He pulled it from Hanzo's hands, but grabbed it from McCree and turned to the other edge of the bed.
"Hanz, no!"
He quickly typed on the phone and pulled up the page. Hanzo stared at it confused.
"A...vacation house?" Hanzo asked.
"Damnit Hanz, it was supposed to be a surprise!" McCree exclaimed snatching the phone back.
"I-I'm sorry I..."
McCree sighed.
"I was hopin to take ya to Dorado for a few months after our suspension. Guess the cats outta the bag."
"Well, thankyou Jesse."
Jesse sighed, but chuckled a bit wrapping his arm around Hanzo.
"You're welcome."
Hanzo kissed Mccree's neck and fiddled with his beard.
"I'm gonna go take a shower." McCree said getting up from the bed.
He began walking to the washroom, but turned to look at Hanzo.
"You're gonna join me." McCree said smiling.
Hanzo grinned and stood up to follow him. They waltzed into the washroom and locked the door. McCree carresed Hanzo's shoulder and played with his stuck-out nipple. Hanzo leaned in letting his lips slide across Jesse's neck. McCree reached into the shower and turned the nob on a cool setting. The water trickled from the shower head. The two of them removed their clothes and immediately got chills as the water ran. It made them both erect. Hanzo grabbed the bottle of soap and began massaging it into McCree's hair. Jesse took a sponge full of soap to Hanzo's chest.
"So, what were you planning to do once we got to Dorado?" Hanzo asked.
"I'm fine with doin anything darlin, as long as I'm with you."
"Well, I've heard lots of interesting things about Dorado. We could go to the beach."
"I like it."
"I've heard that they have good food and lots of parties. I think it's good I learned about this trip sooner. We can plan better."
"Are adventures ever planned out Hanz?"
"I guess not. We can see where our days there take us."
"That's the spirit."
Hanzo tried his luck at teasing Jesse and tugged at his rider, but immediately felt his ass being grabbed. McCree chuckled at him.
"There is no winning against you, is there love?"
"I wouldn't say it's impossible, just very hard."
"That's one of my favorite things about you Jesse. You never give up."

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
