《Believing In Fairytales》Chapter Seventeen: Believing In Fairytales

"Good morning fiancé." Robin says as he wakes me up with kisses all over my face.
"I know we are getting married and everything but that doesn't give you the right to wake me up early." I say as I bury my head in a pillow.
"You have to go to work and show off your beautiful ring." He says and I grin.
"That's what Facebook and Instagram is for. I'm staying home today." I say and it all comes out muffled.
"If you're staying home then I'm staying home." He says as he pulls me into his embrace.
"You're so annoying." I groan as I roll over.
"You still love me anyways." Robin says as he wraps his arms around me. "I'm your own fairytale Prince Charming." Robin says with a smirk.
"I don't believe." I say with my eyes still closed.
"Don't believe in what?" Robin asks me and I sigh.
"Believing in fairytales, it's completely ridiculous. A princess falls in love with a prince and then the prince marries a different princess. It's typical, no one ends up with a happy ending."
"Well I believe in fairytales. I found you and you're my happy ending. Because I believed I found you and I'm grateful for you. You're my sunshine on a cloudy day." He says as he places a sloppy kiss on my cheek.
"You're overly romantic." I say with a groan and he laughs.
"Isn't that why you fell in love with me?" He asks and I shake my head. "Then why?"
"Well, you are just a generally kind person and you just so happen to be the man I've always dreamed of. You're like unbelievably perfect and you are freakishly handsome." I say and he laughs.
"I'm not that handsome." He says and I slap his shoulder.
"Bullshit, you are smoking hot!" I say and he laughs. "I bet that you have a large group of fangirls drooling over you this very second."
"The only fan I need is you." He says as he gives me a kiss on my forehead.
"You're full of sweet remarks aren't you?" I ask him and he grins.
"Only for you my sweet." He says and I giggle.
Sammy enters the room with his large tail swinging happily. He easily hops up on the bed and lays between Robin and I. I laugh at him before I wrap my arms around his furry body. I give him a kiss on his head before I lay on his back.
"You and Sammy are like best friends. You hated the idea of him and look at you cuddling with the dog." Robin says and I smile sheepishly.
"Sammy is very likable, unlike you." I say with a wink.
"I know you love me." Robin says with a grin.
"Just because I love you doesn't mean I like you." I say with a laugh.
"What does that even mean?" Robin asks and I smile.
"Exactly. Now, I'm going back to sleep." I say as I close my eyes.

"Are you sure you wouldn't rather do anything else?" Robin asks as his hand trails up my leg and I sigh. Before Robin's hand can get any higher Sammy growls at Robin and I laugh.
"Well, I believe that Sammy won't let you touch me." I say with a laugh.
"He's such a kiss ass." Robin says and I laugh.
"Guess I'm going to sleep then." I say as I close my eyes again.
"I would say goodnight but it's the morning time. Have a great sleep, my love. I love you." He says and I hum.
"Love you too."

"Mama, wake up!" Roland says as he jumps on me and wakes me up.
"I'm up!" I say as I bolt upright in bed. "Are you okay?" I ask as I stare at him.
"I'm bored." He whines and I smile.
"Wait, when did you get home?" I ask as I glance at the clock, three in the afternoon.
"A few minutes ago." Roland says with a smile.
"Where's your father?" I ask Roland as I get up from bed.
"Baking cookies with Rose." Roland says and I nod.
I scoop him up in my arms and give him a few tickles. His loud giggles send a smile straight to my face. I playfully throw him over my shoulder and walk towards the kitchen. I walk in to see Robin teaching Rose how to roll the cookie dough. They playfully laugh as smiles are exchanged between the two. I can't help but smile as well, Rose finally has an honorable father.
"Mama, look at the cookies!" Rose squeals and I smile.
"They look great honey." I say and then I place Roland on the ground to help them.
"Why didn't you wake me?" I ask as I walk closer to Robin.
"You were really tired after the game we played last night. I just wanted you to have some rest." Robin says and I laugh quietly.
"If you didn't insist on three rounds of our game then I wouldn't be tired." I say with a smirk and he laughs.
"What kind of game did you play?" Roland asks and I blush.
"It was a grown up game." Robin quickly says and the little boy nods.
"Can we play the game?" Rose asks as she looks at her father with curious eyes.
"No, you can never, ever play this game." Robin says sternly and I almost die from holding in a laugh.
"How rude!" Rose says as she struts out of the kitchen.
"Ugh, girls." Roland says and I laugh. "Who won the game?" Roland asks and I blush again.
"I won the game." Robin says as he wraps his arms around me from behind.
"Oh, okay." Roland says and then he joins his sister in the living room.
"And I don't plan on you winning our game anytime soon." Robin says as he gives me a kiss on the neck.
"Ugh, boys." I say and Robin laughs. I grab the tray with the balls of cookie dough and bend over to put them in the oven. A hand hits my ass and I hold in a gasp.

"You're such a smashing crumpet." He says in his British accent.
"What does that even mean?" I ask him and I laugh.
"It means you are a wonderful, sexy person." He says as he wraps his hands around me.
"That doesn't justify you smacking my butt." I say with a raised eyebrow.
"It was just staring at me." Robin says with a grin on his face.
"You are insufferable!" I yell at him as I throw a dish towel on his face.
"Love you too!" He says as I exit the kitchen.
I plop down on the next couch next to my children. Roland instantly climbs on my lap and I wrap my hands around him. My hands brush through his soft and wild curls. I see Rose sitting on the corner of the couch looking sad.
"Roland why don't you go play with Papa?" I say and he nods. Once he scurries out the room I pull Rose on my lap.
"What's wrong princess? You look sad and the Queen hates seeing the princess sad." I say and she stays quiet for a minute.
"I'm confused." She says and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Why are you confused?" I ask her and she hesitates.
"Is Robbie my daddy?" She asks and I frown a little.
"Do you want him to be?" I ask her and she thinks for a second.
"A daddy loves you, right?" She asks me and I nod. "Then, Robbie is my daddy. I can tell he loves me a lot so I want him to be daddy. Can he be my daddy?" She asks and I smile.
"Just ask him princess." I say and she hops off my lap.
"Robbie?" She calls and Robin comes out the kitchen
"Yes, princess." Robin says as he walks up to her.
"Will you be my daddy?" She asks and Robin smiles as he picks her up.
"Princess, I was always your daddy. You're my little girl no matter what and I love you so much!" He says and he starts kissing her face and she giggles. A few tears fell down my face as I watched the whole ordeal unfold.
"I love you too daddy! You are so much better than my other daddy. You don't yell at me." She says and I frown.
A part or me forgot that she was in a foster home for six years. The worst could have happened to my child and I wasn't there for her. A few more tears fall down my face and I wipe them away immediately.
"I have to go play with Roly." She says and Robin puts her down.
Once she ran out the living room Robin sits next to me on the couch. His hands wrap around me and pull me into a tight hug. A few more tears fall from my eyes as I silently cry into his chest.
"I know what you're thinking love. I know that if you were there than nothing would have happened to her. It's not your fault that she was taken away from you." Robin says and I shake my head.
"I could've fought harder for her." I cry and Robin rubs my cheek.
"You were in a difficult position, you both were. Now, stop blaming yourself and do something useful." He says and I raise an eyebrow.
"What could be useful right now?" I say and he gives me a smirk.
"You could just be quiet while I kiss you." He says and I laugh under my breath.
After a long and lazy kiss Robin pulls away and stares at my face. I give him a small smile and he rubs my chin. He pulls me into his lap before he gives me a short kiss on the cheek.
"Rose is safe and healthy and she is living in a happy home with us. Now, just stop worrying honey. I will keep you both safe." Robin says as he pecks my lips.
"Thank you." I say and he nods his head.
"Let's watch some trashy reality show on the telly." He says and we move to cuddle on the couch.
"Your British slang is just coming out today, isn't it?" I say with a smirk.
"Yes, darling it is." Are you gobsmacked by all my terms, sweet crumpet?" He says as he kisses my neck and I giggle.
"Why do you keep calling me crumpet? I like it better when you call me babe, it's more American." I say and he laughs.
"I love you babe." Robin says and I smile.
After about an hour of watching television I noticed how quiet it is. I carefully get out of Robin's sleeping grasp and walk towards Rose's room. I open the door and see both of the children asleep on the floor next to a sleeping Sammy.
I laugh to myself before I pick Roland up. I carry him to his room and place him in his bed. I give him a kiss before I leave his room. I go back to Rose's room and place her in her bed. I give her a kiss as well and quietly close the door.
Warm hands wrap around me and I lean against his chest. I smile to myself as he holds me close to him. He gives me a kiss and his hands start to move up and down my curves.
"The kids and Sammy are asleep. Do you wanna play a game?" He asks and I laugh.
"Maybe this time I'll win?" I say and he laughs as he picks me up bridal style.
"I highly doubt it my love." He says as he starts to kiss me.
Our lips are still tangled as he walks to our bedroom. He opens the door and closes it behind us. Maybe fairytales aren't that bad.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
