《Believing In Fairytales》Chapter Four: Small Dilemmas

"I can't believe you got a second date!" Emma says over the phone.
"Me neither! He was complete perfection!" I squeal like a teenage girl. I roll over on my back and move my hand over my duvet.
"I have to meet him!" Emma yells over the phone.
"Absolutely not! I don't need you chasing him away and ruining my chances with a good guy."
"If I scared him away then he would never last in a relationship with us."
"Us?"
"Me and you are a package deal! You can't have one without the other."
"I would hate for him to run especially away after that great kiss." I say and I move the phone away from my ear.
"What kiss?!" I hear Emma yell and I laugh to myself.
"He kissed me before he left and it was amazing! I don't know what makes him so special. He could just be a guy that ends up hurting me in the end." I say the last part with a sad voice.
"I'll just have to shine off my gun and shoot the bastard!"
"You can't kill this one. He has a really nice son that I want to meet."
"Fine, I'll put my gun away but he isn't safe from my taser." Emma says seriously and I laugh at her. My phone buzzes and it's a text from Robin.
"Sorry Em, I have to go. Robin is texting me."
"Send me screenshots!"
"Of course, bye!" I say and I hang up. I look at my phone to see a lovely text from Robin.
I really enjoyed our lunch date and I can't wait to see your gorgeous face tomorrow for dinner
I can't wait to find out more about you. If you don't mind I would like to start now
Ask me anything
What do you like to do for fun?
I would usually play with Roland but he's with John at the moment. I guess in this case I would watch sports.
Why do you ask?
I'm really bored and there is nothing for me to do
I texted that five minutes ago. I stare at my screen still waiting for a response. I'm also still trying to figure out what I did to make him stop texting.
I'm probably just being a bit paranoid. I sigh and I start to slide off my bed and take off my sandals and cardigan. I walk towards my closet to find something comfy to change into. I am almost certain that I stood there for about ten minutes trying to figure out what to wear. Finally I decide on a pair of black pajama shorts and a red tank top.
I head out of my room and walk towards my kitchen. Emma left a complete mess from when I left. I should clean this mess up but at he moment I'm starving. I look around the cupboards for junk food. I turn around and my eyes lock on to the prey. I stare at the chocolate cake on my counter. It's delicious frosting is just teasing me as it glistens under the ceiling light. To eat it or not to eat it, that is the question.

A knock on the door interrupts my train of thought. I walk over to the door and I open it. There is Robin standing in my doorway with a bag of groceries. He was dressed almost as casual as me with his white shirt and sweat pants.
"What are you doing here?" I ask as I stare at him.
"I was bored and you were bored so I decided to come over and make you dinner."
"You don't have to do that you know."
"I insist." He says with a smile on his face.
"You can come in but only because you are very attractive." I say with a smile and he walks through the door. I kick the door so it's now closed. I walk in to find Robin sitting on the couch.
"The television awaits milady." He says and I walk over and plop down on the couch next to him. I grab the remote and turn on the TV.
I flip through the channels and I spot a reality show. I start watching it and I instantly get bored. Before I can change the channel Sean Maguire walks across the screen. I start freaking out in my head because I adore Sean. Apparently Robin notices me freaking out.
"Who is that guy?"
"He is Sean Maguire and I adore him. He is such a talented actor and he is amazing to look at." I beam as I almost fall off the couch.
"I don't think this Sean guy is as handsome as you think. He looks awfully weird."
"You look exactly like him!"
"No I don't think so. I despise the guy."
"Why?"
"I'm jealous of him. He has you drooling over him in less than a minute."
"You shouldn't be jealous because I like you."
"I know I just wanted to hear you say it." He says with a devilish smirk and I slap his arm. We both laugh and I change the channel to something we both agree on.
Somehow during the movie my head ends up on Robin's shoulder and his hands are wrapped around my waist. I'm not sure exactly when this happened but I am very comfortable. Robin moves one of his hands and places it on my back. He moves it in small and smoothing circles.
The woodsy smell of is cologne is intoxicating. His heartbeat is beating quietly in my ear. His gentle hand on my back is making it harder for me to stay awake. My eyelids grow heavy and I resist sleep for as long as possible.
"Go to sleep." I hear Robin whisper in his perfect accented voice. I listen to him and my eyes slowly close.
*****
"Regina." I hear his voice say in a sing song voice as he rubs my shoulder gently.
I hum in response and I open my eyes slowly. Emma? Emma was right in my face staring at me with a devilish smile. I was laying on my side with a blanket draped over my shoulders.

"Emma why are you here?" I say and my voice sounds completely different and very unattractive.
"Am I not allowed to see my best friend?" She says in a tone that raises my suspicions.
"I'm actually glad she came over. I was dying to meet her. She also told me a great story about you." Robin says and I look up to see him behind the couch.
"Squirrel in the woods?" I ask her hopeful that she didn't tell him about my most embarrassing memory.
"Yup." Emma says with a pop.
I honestly hate this girl. From where I am laying and where she is sitting on the coffee table I have a clear shot. I ball my hand in a fist and punch her in the arm.
"I'll kill you later." I say as I sit up on the couch.
"Is that threat?" Emma says trying to challenge me.
"It's a promise." I say and I give her a deadly glare. "So, Robin what's for dinner."
"We are going to have pizza since Emma burned what I made. Emma ordered your favorite. I also invited her to stay." Robin says with a smile and I glare at Emma who pays me no mind.
"Let's eat!" Emma says as she walks into the kitchen. Robin and I follow her into the kitchen and sit on the bar stools behind the counter. The pizza box is already open and Emma helps herself to almost half the pizza.
Dinner was great. Stories that I approved of were told and laughs filled my apartment. The night ended with a very drunk Emma who had to stay over. I am now helping her get to the guest bedroom.
"Robin is a really great guy." She slurs her words and every "r" sounds like a "w".
"I know that Emma." I say helping her get in the bed.
"If you don't get laid tonight I will be very sad."
"I don't like the drunk Emma." I say before I close the door.
"You don't like the sober one either!" She yells and I shake my head and start laughing at her. I walk back to the kitchen to see Robin sitting on a bar stool with his elbows on the table. He looks like he is thinking about something serious. I don't want to disturb him but I can't help it.
"Something on your mind?" I ask him as I casually lean on the door frame.
"Yes, I have a dilemma and I'm not sure whether I should follow my heart or my brain."
"The heart usually knows what's best. Your brain only gives you the logical answer. So when in doubt go with your heart." I say and he nods slowly then gets up from his chair.
He slowly walks toward me until our noses almost touch. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me closer to him. His lips gracefully meet mine. It's a sweet kiss and our lips slowly move together.
I wrap my arms around his neck wanting to be closer to him. My lips move in time with his soft lips. Passion filled the room as he continues to kiss me sweetly. It's been an eternity since my last breath and I pull away. A smile on my face as I take a deep breath.
"Was that your dilemma?" I say and our foreheads meet.
"It was. Now I have another one. I want to kiss you again."
"Then do it." I say and it takes little time for his warm lips to engulf mine.
He moves slow and he takes his time. He sucks on my bottom lip and I pull him closer. He moves his hands upward and places them between my shoulder blades. The warmth of his mouth sent a current running through my body. I lost myself in his peppermint breath and soft lips.
Just like that my small infinity was over when he moved away from me. I let out a long breath and Robin still holds me close to him. I'm not ready to admit it myself or him for any matter but I think I love him. I pull away from his warm and inviting embrace and I instantly regret it.
"That was, uh-"
"It was amazing." He says to me and I instantly blush. he makes me nervous and at the same time he makes me relax.
"Yes, it was." I say before I swallow a lump in my throat.
"I have to get going. I have to put my son to bed. I'll pick you up tomorrow at seven and dress fancy."
"Uh, okay sure."
"I'll see you tomorrow." He kisses my cheek and even that small kiss sends electricity through my veins. "Bye Regina." He says and he walks out the kitchen. I hear a door open and slam signalling that he gone.
I walk into my room and quickly change into a pair of pajamas. I plop down on my bed and stare up at the ceiling. Robin Locksley. He's handsome, considerate, a great kisser and possibly the guy of my dreams. He has me wrapped around his glorious fingers and I'm enjoying it.
I never thought that I would fall this hard and this fast for Robin. He's an amazing guy and he's so sweet. I just got to know him and his face just sort of became him. Like his personality is written all over it. And he just turned into something so beautiful.
"Fuck." I whisper to myself as I still stare at the ceiling. I've only fell for a guy like this once and that didn't turn out too well. Hopefully Robin isn't like that or maybe I should break up with him now. Breaking up with the most handsome and considerate guy I've ever met. This should be easy.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
