I watched as Lexi jumped into the man's arms. She looked so happy to see him. They hugged and laughed with each other as I stood in the background. He kissed her head and I felt my fist clench. I grit my teeth and when I had enough of their sweetness, I coughed.

"So uh who's this?" I grit through my teeth

"Why should you know?" The guy smirks.

He was trying to get on my nerves.

"Because I'm her friend and I care about her."

"Friend? So she's single then? That's great" Brian's smirks grows even wider. I was about to say something when a little voice cuts us off.

A little boy runs up to Lexi and she picks him up. My anger slowly fades away as I see her play with him. The little boy seems to really like her.

"Heh she's amazing huh?"

I turn around to see the guy behind me. He was smiling as he watched the little boy with Lexi. I looked back and nodded.

"Yeah...she is." I mumble

"So, I'm taking you're Cole? Or you could be the Chase guy but I doubt that." He says

"Yeah. I'm Cole."

"Cool. I'm Brian, Alexa's engaged brother. So there's really nothing to get jealous about." He smirks.

"I wasn't jealous." I defend

"Yeah suurree." He chuckles

"I was just being protective of her."

"Okayyy"

"I'm serious"

"Why are you being so defensive?"

"I am not!!"

This guy was annoying.

"Chill dude. I'm just messing with you. Are you sure though you're just "protective"?" He asks

"Yes."

We walk and sit in a bench a little further away from the others.

"So you really don't feel anything for her?" He asks

"Well I care for her."

"What is Alexa to you?" He asks

What is Alexa to me?

"Well she's my friend" I respond

"So then you always get over protective of your friends?"

"Uhhh no?"

"So then she's not just a friend"

"She's a special friend."

"Explain."

"Well...I don't know. She's just special to me." I say

"How so?"

"Well for one we used to be enemies but then, even after all the terrible things I've done to her, she still showed me kindness. She helped me. She made sure I took care of myself. She cared for me more than anyone else has."

"Then I just got attached I guess. And ever since she told me about her depression and anorexia, I just got over protective. I swore to help her. I wanted to make sure that she was happy. I wanna help her." I finish talking. I was smiling as I finished.

"What do you like about Alexa?" He asks

"Heh. I like how kind she is. Even to the people who don't deserve her kindess, she gives it to them. I like how she can make anyone listen to her. Whatever she says, you HAVE to do it. I like that she can trust me."

"Okay you can stop there. I get your point. So I take it you like my sister?" He asks

"Yeah..." I smile lightly

"But...do you have any feelings for her? Like any romantic feelings?" He asks. I am shocked by his question. Romantic feelings? For Lexi?

"Uhh no?"

"Heh. Well if you say so..." He says. A look comes across his face. He stays silent for a while but then looks up at me

"We should get going."

We stood up and walked back to Lexi. Lexi was talking with another girl and the little boy was playing with his toy car. I glanced at Brian and saw his face light up when he spots the girl with Lexi. His face broke out into a wide smile and he's as happy as he could be.

"Is that your fiancé?" I ask. He nods happily

Soon it was about to say goodbye and Brian walks up to me. He pats me on the shoulder and whispers in my ear.

"Take care of my sister, my son and yourself."

He smiles and I nodded my head. The two left and Lexi introduced me to Axel. Axel and I hung out the rest of the day. We became really close and I couldn't help but miss

I was giving Axel a bath when he asked me a question.

"Cole, are you the boyfriend of Auntie Allie?" He asks me

"How do you know what a boyfriend is?!" I exclaim

"Grandpa taught me about it." He shrugs

"Well...no I'm not. I have no girlfriend." I say

"You should ask her to be your girlfriend. Cause you're awesome and she's awesome. You're perfect for each other!! You'll fall in love and be happy together forever. Like mommy and daddy!!" He says

"Heh. You're Auntie Allie and I are just friends Axe." I say booping his nose. I dried him off and started putting on his pj's

"Aww. I still believe that you guys will be in love though." He says. I chuckles and shake my head at him. I carry him on my shoulders and bring him to Lexi's room.

I put Axe in bed and told them I'd get ready for bed too. I said good night and went to my room. I took a quick wash and then changed into some sweats and a shirt. I walked back to Lexi's room but stopped when I heard a soft sweet and angelic voice.

I knew it was Lexi because I don't think Axel can sing like that. Lexi has a beautiful voice. It was soft and smooth. It made me wanna go to sleep.

I was too spaced out that I didn't realize she stopped. She got out of the room and bumped into me.

"Just how long have you been here?" She says raising her eyebrows at me

"Long enough to hear your beautiful voice." I smile widely at her.

" I didn't know you could sing." I add

"I'm not that good." She says

"Are you kidding me?! You sound like an angel." I say. She blushes a bright red. She looks so adorable when she blushes.

"Is there anywhere else I can sleep? Axel is taking up the whole bed." She chuckles

"Not really...but...You could sleep with me?" I grin

"Nah it's fine. I think I'll take the couch." She says. I raise my eyebrows at her and shakes my head. I put my hands on her waist. This feels...right. I mentally shake my head and proceed to throw her over my shoulder.

"Cole!! Put me down!!" She says

"Nope! You're sleeping with me."

"Cole it's fine. You don't have to worry." She say.

I go into my room and lock the door. I put her down and she stumbles a bit. She holds onto me for balance and closes her eyes. I smile at her cute scrunched up face. She looked so cute. She's clenching my shirt and I chuckle at how cute she was.

Once she was okay, I excused myself to use the bathroom. Once I got there, I took my sleeping pills. I went out to see Alexa on the edge of the bed. I chuckled and shook my head. Why was she all the way there?

"You go ahead. I'm gonna use the bathroom for a while." He does just that and I lay on the edge of the bed. I lay down and close the lights.

"Goodnight Lexi."

"Night Cole." She whispers

I was slowly falling asleep, the sleeping pills kicking in. Befor I fell asleep I heard a soft and sweet voice.

And with that, I started to rethink if Lexi was really "just a friend"
