《Foster Brothers | COMPLETED》Ch. 33 - Try-outs

It's Tuesday, and today is soccer try-outs. Nicole has been talking about it all day while I was extremely nervous.
"You'll do fine, princess," Brent said, wrapping his arm wrapped around my waist.
We were walking to the soccer field where everybody was meeting. I already changed into a pair of black Nike tights, a black sports bra, and a black workout tank top. I had my long blonde hair pulled into a high ponytail.
"Your right. I'm just overthinking it," I said, but my heart dropped when I saw Clary and Naomi standing on the field, fixing their makeup.
I don't even know why they wore makeup when we're going to be running and sweating.
"Nope, can't do it," I said, about to turn around, but Brent kept me in place.
"Don't worry about them. Look at me," he said, cupping my cheek,"I believe in you. Plus I seen you practice all week after school, and you're amazing at it. Just breath."
I nodded,"I'm ready."
He smiled,"Good. Now go and show them who Campbell West is."
I kissed him on the lips before sprinting off towards the field. Brent was going to sit in the bleachers since he's going to drive me home. I saw Nichole stretching by herself, so I plopped down next to her.
"You ready?" Nichole asked me.
"Yeah," I replied with a side smile.
"Oh great, here comes Satan and her minion," Nichole mumbled as two shadows stood over us.
"Clary. Naomi. Do you need anything?" I asked them, looking up to meet their glares.
"We were just checking out the...competition, but I don't see any," Clary said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"That's because you're blind," I replied, standing up from the grass.
"Am I? Well at least I'm not the one with mommy and daddy issues," Clary shot back.
My hands started to shake again, and Nichole saw that because she stood up quickly.

"Leave, Clary. Now," Nichole said, venom lacing her voice.
"Just watch your back. Accidents happen all the time in sports," Clary said before leaving.
"Campbell, you need to calm down. You're letting her get to you," Nichole said, looking me into my eyes.
I took a deep breath, relaxing myself. "I'm okay. Let's do this."
She nodded,"Good."
"Ladies! Listen up!" A woman coach yelled. She has a pixie cut and it was a brown color. Her eyes were this dark blue color which was looking at everybody.
"I'm Coach Scott! I'm the soccer, volleyball, and softball coach for the girls. Now today I'm going to spilt y'all up into two teams. You will go against each other, and the first team to three points wins," she instructed.
"But that's not all. If you want to be on this team, you have to show that today. I need girls who are will put their whole strength into soccer. Are we clear?" She asked, making us all nod.
"Now split into two groups."
Nichole and I went on Team A, and I noticed that Clary and Naomi were on Team B.
"Start!" Coach Scott yelled.
The ball was in the middle, and Nichole kicked it first. She passed to a girl named Isabella. The other team was trying to block us, but I escaped them, trying to keep with Isabelle.
She passed the ball to me, and I kept it going until I was elbowed to the ground. I looked up to see Naomi standing over me.
"Oops. I didn't see you there," she said before leaving me on the ground.
"Naomi, no elbowing! Or else you're out of here!" Coach Scott yelled."Let's go. Back to starting positions!"
This time the other team had the ball, and Faith started to run with the ball. Nichole and I tried to get the ball from her, but she was quick. Then she kicked the ball, and our goalie, Annalise, missed it, meaning Team B has a point.

"Dang it," I mumbled, walking back to the middle of the field.
We had the ball, and Nichole passed it to Maddi, who ran towards the goal. I blocked a girl who was gaining on Maddi. Maddi kicked the ball into the goal. The goalie missed it, and the goalie missed it.
"Yay!" Maddi exclaimed, looking back at us.
"Great kick Maddi!" Coach Scott yelled.
We returned back to our starting points, and the game continued. Every time I had the ball, Clary or Naomi would knock me on the ground. We were tied right now; 2:2. The sun was setting, and this was going to be our last round. My forehead was covered in sweat from running.
Coach Scott threw the ball, and Nichole got it first before Clary. She passed it to Wanda, who ran until she was almost the goal, but three people started to block her. I looked around to see that I was the only one left open.
"I'm open!" I yelled to her.
She nodded, and she kicked the ball over to me. I ran, and I could hear Clary gasp. It was like things were going in slow motion. I kicked the ball, and it went passed the goalie. It hit the net, and it bounced back onto the ground.
"Team A wins!" Coach Scott cheers.
"Yay! You did it!" Nichole yelled before hugging me.
I heard Brent cheering in the stands, and my cheeks turned a bright pink. He was, in fact, the only person standing on the bleachers.
"Girls, I want you all to know that you all did amazing, but I have to pick 12 girls to be on the team. That announcement will be up on Friday. If you get on the team, practice starts Monday. Are we clear?" She asked.
Friday, huh? That's January 16th.....my birthday.
I totally forgot about my birthday. I haven't celebrated my birthday since I was twelve. I pushed the thought tot he back of my head as I look back to the group.
"Yes Coach," we said altogether.
"Now have a nice night," Coach Scott said before leaving the field.
"Eeeee!" Nichole and I squealed together.
"I hope we make it," Nichole said, putting her jacket on.
"Me too," I replied, looking for Brent.
I found him, waiting for me at the gate. I turned back to Nichole.
"I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow," I said with a smile.
"Okay, bye, Campbell," she said before hugging me.
I hugged her back before walking over to Brent. He threw an arm over my shoulders, and we started to walk to the parking lot.
"You did amazing! Even after Clary and Naomi pushes you down, you got back up and scored that goal," he said, proudly.
"I think you're more excited than me," I joked.
"I am. Your my girlfriend, and I'm going to support you," he said as we stopped at his car.
"I haven't even made the team," I told him, getting into the car.
"Yet. You and Nichole rocked that field," he said as he started the engine.
"I'm just so nervous about Friday," I said with a tight smile.
"About the results?" He asked.
Of course he didn't know that it was my birthday. I never told him or the boys. I laid back against the seat.
"Yeah, the results," I mumbled.
"You okay?" He asked, concern.
I nodded my head,"Totally. Just tired."
I hope Friday passes soon so I won't have to worry about my birthday or the results from soccer.
