《Foster Brothers | COMPLETED》Ch. 29 - One of a Kind

It has been two weeks since I told everybody my past, and things are great. For Christmas, we opened presents, and we spent the watching movies and play games. Then we had a big dinner.

And for New Year's Eve, we invited the girls and Brent over. We celebrated together, and it was super fun.

But today school starts again. I was currently getting dressed. I picked out a white bralette, a green sweatshirt that said Vans in the corner, and black leggings.

After I changed into the outfit, I put my white Vans on. I pulled my hair into a ponytail, and I decided to put on some mascara and lipstick. I sprayed some perfume on me before putting on my necklace I got from Brent from Christmas around my neck.

It was a rose gold chain with a diamond heart on it. And on top on the heart is a crown. I smiled at myself in the mirror before grabbing my stuff. Then I'd exited my room, and I walked downstairs.

Gaberial was the first person I saw. He was sitting at the bar, eating Fruit Loops. I set my stuff down next to him, and I walked over to the fridge to grab the chocolate milk.

"Morning, Campbell," Gaberial said, looking up from his phone.

"Morning, Gaberial," I replied, pouring the milk in a cup.

"Why are you all.....energetic?" He asked, looking me up and down.

"I guess since it's the first day back. Where's everybody at?" I asked him before drinking my chocolate milk.

"Getting ready. Dad had to leave early because he got paged," he said, eating his cereal.

I nodded, and Nick walked in yawning. He sat down beside Gaberial.

"I can't believe Coach is making us practice today," Nick said, leaning back in his chair.

"For lacrosse?" I asked him.

He nodded,"Yep."

"When is spring break?" Micheal groaned, walking into the kitchen.

"In April," Nick replied.

Micheal scowled,"Too far."

I smiled at him while putting my glass in the sink. Then my phone buzzed, and I picked it up from the counter.

B: Be there in a few.

I smiled, and I grabbed my bag out of the chair next to Gaberial. He looked at me suspiciously.

"Brent picking you up?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

I tried to hide my smile, but I failed. "Yes."

"I can't not wait for June. I'm so tired of riding with Elliot, well, Nick now," he groaned.

"Same here," Gavin agreed, walking into the kitchen.

"Morning, Gavin," I said, giving him a high five.

"Morning, Cam," he replied, grabbing the bread. Probably to make toast. My phone dinged again, and I opened the text message.

B: Waiting outside.

I put my phone in my bag before slinging it over my shoulder.

"I'll see you guys at school. Bye, Micheal," I said, opening the kitchen door.

"Bye," Micheal said.

The twins nodded, and Nick was too busy with making some oatmeal that he didn't hear me. I walked out of the house, and I saw Brent's car parked in the driveway. He was standing by my side of the car, holding the door for me.

I skipped over to him, and he kissed me.

When we pulled apart, he said,"Good morning, beautiful."

"Morning, handsome," I replied with a smirk.

I climbed into the car, placing my bag in the floorboard. He shut my door, and he climbed into his seat. We buckled ourselves up then he started the engine.

"So, how would you like to have dinner at my house Friday?" Brent asked, making me raise my eyebrows.

"That sounds amazing."

"Great, I'll tell my Mom you're coming," he replied, and I snapped my head to his direction.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"My parents want to get to know you better, and they are leaving next week so Friday is the only time you can come for dinner. And Nessa has been asking about you," Brent explained, paying attention to the road.

Dinner with his parents?

I know that we had Thanksgiving together, but I was mostly quiet during that because of Bella.

Brent saw the look on my face, and he grabbed my hand, holding it in his.

Then he said,"They'll love you. They did at Thanksgiving. Plus I'll be by your side the whole night."

I nodded,"Alright."

He smiled, and he continued to drive, but he still held my hand. He parked his car ten minutes later in the school's parking lot where tons of people were socializing with their friends.

We got out of the car, and Brent came around to my side. I shut the door, and he grabbed my hand. Our fingers enlaced with each other. I took in his appearance as he was right next to me.

He was dressed in a black hoodie Champion written on it, dark blue jeans, and some tennis shoes. He was wearing the bracelet I gave him for Christmas.

It was a black bracelet with a clasp on it. There was three silver charms on it. One has CW, the middle one had a heart with an arrow through it, and the third one had BM. I saw it in a store, and I thought it was cute. I also got him a red and white hoodie for Christmas.

I saw people stop talking, and they looked over to me and Brent. Well our hands actually. Then they started whispering.

Seriously? Do these people have anything better to do than gossip?

Brent and I walked into the school. We headed to our lockers which were close together. I put my bag in the locker before grabbing my stuff for the first two classes. Then I grabbed my phone and I put it on top of my books.

Brent walked back over to me, and he had his own stuff in his hands. We started to walk to our home room, talking about our classes.

"Mrs. Gomez probably has a ton of notes for us today," Brent said, groaning.

"That's going to be really fun," I said, sarcastically.

He laughed, and we walked into the classroom, making our way to our seats. We sat down, and we waited on the bell to ring.

When it did, Mr.Hermes walked in with a cup of coffee in his hand. Students sat down in their desks, and Nick sat beside Brent like usual.

"Since it's the first day back, do whatever you like, just be quiet," Mr. Hermes announced.

The boys started to talk about lacrosse when a certain brown headed girl caught my attention. She had her phone out, but it was pointed in my direction. It looks like she was taking a picture of me, but I'm sure.

"You in?" Nick's voice brought me back to reality.

I blinked a couple of times,"What?"

"The fair is this weekend. Are you in?" Nick explained.

I nodded,"Of course."

I looked back at the girl to her texting somebody. The bell rang a few minutes telling us to head o first period.

Back to classes. Fun!

I was walking back to the cafeteria from the restroom when the same girl from home room came up to me. She gave me a fake smile which I made me confused.

"Hi. I don't think we official met. I'm Naomi," The girl introduced herself.

Why does that name sound familiar?

"I'm Campbell," I told her.

"I know. Clary told me about you," she said, looking me up and down.

Clary? Omg! Naomi as in Clary's best friend Naomi.

"Uh. I have to go, but it was a pleasure meeting you," I said, nicely as I could be.

As I walked off, I heard her say,"Just wait until Clary finds out."

I ignored what she said, and I walked into the cafeteria. I walked to my seat, and I sat down in the chair.

"Soccer would be fun," Nichole said, looking at a piece of paper.

"What are you looking at?" I asked her, pointing to the piece of paper.

"Nichole is trying to get the girls to join soccer with her," Gavin said.

"Which is not going to happen. There's too much....running involved," Madison told me.

"I'll do it with you," I told Nichole, making her smile.

"Really? Can you hurt your shoulder though?" She asked, making me shrug.

"I don't think so. Plus soccer is pretty cool," I told her, truthfully.

"Awesome! Try outs are next week," Nichole said, handing me a piece of paper.

I looked at it, and I put it in my bag. I started to eat my salad when Brent slung an arm around the back of my chair.

"I didn't take you as a soccer girl," he said, looking at me.

"Neither did I. I guess we have to try new things," I said, earning a chuckle from him.

"Do you want to stay after school and watch me practice? I can drive you afterwards," he offered.

"Okay, and maybe some ice cream?" I asked him.

"You want ice cream when it's sixty degrees outside?" He asked.

I nodded,"Ice cream is ice cream."

He smiled,"You are one strange girl."

"So is that a yes?" I asked, trying my best not to blush.

"Of course. Ice cream it is."

I grinned, and the bell rang. I threw away my leftover salad, and Brent slung an arm over my shoulders.

Life was great right now.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I was extra happy when the bell rang. Since Brent, Nick, Nichole, and I all share last period, we walked out together.

Nichole had to go home because she had to attend her little brother's basketball game. Nick kisses her goodbye before we were off to the lacrosse field.

When we got to the field, the boys left to go change in the locker rooms. Brent gave me a kiss on the cheek before leaving me.

I walked up the bleachers, sitting on the very top where I can see the whole field. Some players were already on the field, talking. I decided to work on some of math homework while they started to warm up.

Brent walked out with Nick beside him. They were in light gray and blue uniforms, almost like their football uniforms, but they were in shorts instead of pants.

Brent caught my attention when he had the ball in his net thingy, running to the end net. I cheered when he threw it, and the person didn't catch it.

I saw Gavin and Gaberial blocking the other guys, letting Brent run. Nick tackled somebody, so he was on the ground.

They did it again, but this time Gavin threw the ball. It hit the net, and the coach was yelling and clapping.

I cheered for all of them. I probably look like a crazy stalker, but I didn't care. I'm supporting my boys. Even though Elliot can play, he still sitting by the coach, observing what plays they needed to play next and who to switch in and out.

When they were done with practice, it was 5:30. All of the boys were sweaty from running, so they went to go take showers. I walked down the bleachers, waiting by the bottom for Brent. As I waited, the coach walked up to me.

"Excuse me, but who are you? I saw you cheering in the stands earlier," he asked, running his hand through his black hair.

"I'm Campbell West. Brent's girlfriend, and Gavin, Gaberial, and Nick's.....sister," I introduced myself.

"I didn't know they had a sister," he said.

"I'm their foster sister."

"Oh," he said, and I saw Brent walking up to me.

"There's Brent. It's was nice meeting you, Coach..."

"Andrews. Have a good night," he said, and I nodded.

"You too," I replied before walking over to Brent.

He kissed me on the lips before we started walking to the school parking lot.

"You guys were awesome. When is your first game?" I asked him when we got into his car.

"In two weeks. It's against Dean Academy," he said, driving onto the road.

"You ready for it?" I asked him.

He nodded,"Yeah, but it's going to be weird since Elliot's not the captain. Thank goodness that Nick is though since he was co-captain."

"Well, I believe in you guys."

"Thank you. Now are you ready to get some ice cream?" He asked, changing the subject.

I smiled, eagerly,"What kind of question is that? Of course I'm ready for ice cream."

We drove for a couple minutes until Brent parked his car by the ice cream shop. We got out, and we entered the shop. The walls were a pastel blue, and the tables were a pastel pink. It was super cute.

"What can I do for you two?" A girl asked us.

"One chocolate cone with sprinkles," I said, looking at the chocolate ice cream.

"And I want a strawberry cone with chocolate syrup," Brent added.

"Okay. That will be $6.80," the girl said.

I started to dig out some money when Brent pulled out a ten, and gave it to the girl.

"You didn't have to pay. It was my idea to get ice cream," I said when the girl went to make our ice creams.

"Yes, but you were taking too long. And I'm the boyfriend so it's my duty to pay," he said.

"That's not fair. You already done enough for me," I said, pouting.

"I like doing stuff for you, princess," he said before looking over at me. "Don't give me that pouty lip either."

"I'll pay for our next date. Deal?" I said, holding out my hand.

"You're not going to let this go, are you?" Brent asked, looking at my hand then at me.

"Nope," I said, popping the 'p.'

He sighed,"Fine. You can pay for our next date."

I smiled,"Yay!"

The girl came back to us, holding two cones. When she handed me mine, I started to lick it.

"Campbell West, you are one of a kind."
