《Foster Brothers | COMPLETED》Ch. 22 - Princess

It has been two days since my panic attack, and I feel okay. I'm going back to school today, and tonight is the last football game for the boys.

Speaking of the boys, Gaberial and I haven't talked to each since that day. I think he feels gulity for what he said. Gavin came to me yesterday, apologizing over and over.

I haven't got a chance to talk to Madison about her moving, but I needed to.

"Campbell? Are you ready?" Elliot asked, knocking on my door.

"Almost," I said, tying my white converses.

I chose a simple outift for today; a gray wool sweater, light washed jeans, and my white converses. I put a golden choker with stars on it around my neck.

I grabbed my bag and my phone before exiting my room. Winter was chewing on one of her toys in the living room. I gave her a scratch behind the ear before grabbing an apple from the kitchen.

Nobody was in the kitchen so I walked out to the garage to see Elliot waiting in his truck for me.

When I opened the door, I asked,"Where's Michael?"

"He wanted to ride with Nick today, so Nick took him. The twins rode with Dad," he explained, turning the music down.

"Oh," I replied, throwing my bag in the floorboard. I had to literally jump in Elliot's truck because of how short I am.

"Are you ready for the game tonight?" I asked him, five minutes after leaving the house.

"Yeah. The ride is going to take forever though," he said.

"Two hours is not that long," I argued.

He rolled his eyes,"It is when I have only my phone to keep me company."

I shook my head and looked out the window. Blurs of green, blue, and red were passing by us.

"Elliot," I said, breaking the silence.

"What?" He asked, focusing on the road.

"Do you ever wish your parents never signed up for fostering?" I asked him.

He looked at me with a serious look on his face.

Shaking his head, he said,"Never. If they didn't sign up for it, we never could have gotten you. I would never know what it's like to have a sister."

"Really?" I asked.

He nodded,"Really. I mean, you keep to yourself majority of the time, but you went through a lot. And that's not your fault, either. You're cool, you came to our football games, you helped Anna and I during our fight, and you help the boys and I."

"You don't know how much that means to me," I told him.

He licked his lips,"Also, don't worry about what Gaberial said."

I raised my eyebrows, but he started talking before I could speak.

"He came to me after you fainted, and he told me everything. He's beating himself up about it."

I nodded, and I thought about something. I really needed to talk to Gaberial before or after the game.

I was making my way to the restroom when somebody called my name. I turned around to see Gaberial running to me.

"Gaberial?" I asked.

"I need to talk to you about the other day. I didn't mean what I said, Campbell. I was just so angry at Gavin because he thinks he has to know everything going on in my life," he said.

"And I know that isn't an excuse to what I said. What I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry," he finished, looking away from me.

"Gaberial, I'm sorry."

"For what?"

I licked my lips,"You guys have been so kind and open to me, and I haven't been with you guys. You're probably going to say that it's fine or whatever, but to me it's not okay."

"Campbell..." he drawled out.

I held up my hand to him to make him be quiet.

"I forgive you, Gaberial, but I understand if you don't forgive me. I have been really closed off lately," I forgave him.

"I forgive you, Campbell. Hell, we all do. We understand that you came from a rough past, and it's okay if you don't want to open up just yet," he said.

"Forgive and forget?" I asked with a small smile.

"Forgive and forget," he repeated my words with a nod.

"Did you make up with Gavin?" I asked him.

He nodded his head,"Yeah. We made up after you passed out."

I smiled,"Okay. That's good. Also, I would really like to meet Hailey."

He smiled at me,"I'll bring her at lunch."

"Okay. I have to get to class," I said, realizing that I'm still in class.

He nodded,"See you at lunch."

I walked back to my classroom, and I made my way to my desk. Brent was behind me, and I felt him tap on my shoulder.

I turned around and whispered,"What?"

"We're on page fifty-one" he whispered, pointing to the book.

"Thanks," I whispered back.

"Guys, I want you to meet Hailey, my girlfriend," Gaberial said, making our heads turn to him.

Hailey was standing next to him with a big smile.

"Hi," we all said.

She waved,"Hello."

Gaberial set in his regular seat, and I noticed there was an extra chair beside him. Hailey sat down next to him.

"You're on the student council, right?" Anna asked Hailey.

"Yes, I'm the treasurer," she replied, putting a strand of her dark hair behind her ear.

"That's cool."

"I wish I was in that bus right now," Nick complained, taking a bite of his pizza.

"So, you could sleep?" Nichole asked him with an eyebrow raised.

"Maybe."

She rolled her eyes,"Only you Nick."

"So, Campbell, what are you wearing to the winter formal?" Madison asked me.

I shrugged,"I don't know yet. I'm probably not going anyways."

"What? Why not?" Anna asked, eating her fries.

"I don't do dances," I told them.

"You have to come! It's so much fun!" Madison exclaimed.

"I'll think about it."

"Brent, what about you?" Madison turned the attention on him.

"I'm still thinking about it," he said, shooting a glance at me.

"You people!" She said, frustrated. We all laughed at her.

"Campbell, do you want to wear my jacket tonight since we are going to another school?" Brent asked me.

I nodded,"Yes. I shall wear you're special jacket tonight."

"You're still calling it that?" He asked.

"Yep until you tell me why it's so special," I said, popping the 'p'.

"You are a child, Campbell West," he said with a playful eye roll.

"And you are no fun."

"I'm fun," he defended himself.

"Mmmmh, right, sure."

"I feel hurt," he said, placing a hand on his heart, dramatically.

"You're so dramatic."

His head snapped to the side, and his eyes widen. I laughed at his reaction.

"I'm not dramatic."

"Yes, you are," I said.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Yes."

"No....wait you tricked me," I said with my mouth wide open.

"Second time now," he replied with a smirk playing at his lips.

"Are you always this cocky?" I asked him.

"Only cocky for you, princess," he said, making my heart flutter.

"Princess?" I asked.

"Yep. That's your new nickname from now on," he told me with a grin.

"Oh lord, help me," I mumbled under my breath.
