《Foster Brothers | COMPLETED》Ch. 14 - Aunt Bella

Ross walked into the living room where we were at. He dropped the groceries when he saw who was in the living room. He ran to his sister, and he hugged her tightly.
"My goodness! You're here!" He exclaimed in astonishment.
"Ross?! What's wrong?!" Lisa yelled, running into the living room.
She saw what was happening, and she smiled. Once Ross and Bella stopped hugging, Lisa gave Bella a hug.
"I missed you so much," Lisa said.
"Where are my nephews?" Bella asked.
"They're at football pratice. Michael is at a friend's house," Ross told her.
"I can't wait to see them."
My phone buzzed, and I pulled it out of my pocket. It was from Brent. I walked towards the stairs, swiping the button.
"Campbell, hey, are you busy?" He asked me.
"Um," I said, looking back at Anna and everybody else,"a little."
"Oh, well, okay."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Did I ruin something? Omg, I ruined something. I'm so sorry-.."
"No, no. You didn't ruin anything. I just wanted to see you tonight," he replied, cutting me off.
"You saw me yesterday," I said.
"Yeah, but I want to see you again," he said with a light chuckle.
"Come over later, and bring Nessa with you. I haven't seen her in a while."
"You sure?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm sure."
"I'll see you later then," he told me.
"Alright, bye," I said, ending the call.
I walked back to where Anna was standing at. She was in deep thought, and I had to touch her shoulder to get her out of it.
"Sorry. I was thinking about Elliot," she said with a tight smile.
"Do you want to stay over for a little while? I was just going to watch Netflix all afternoon," I offered.

"Sure, but I don't want Elliot to see me here," she replied, and I nodded.
We walked upstairs to my room, and she plopped herself on my bed. I handed her the remote, and she turned on Netflix.
"Lets watch Tall Girl," she suggested, scrolling through the movies.
"That's fine with me," I told her, and I say on my bed. I leaned up againist the bed frame while she turned the movie on.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It was around three o'clock when Anna left, and I sitting on my bed, doing some homework.
"Campbell! Can you come down here, please?!" Lisa yelled from downstairs.
"Coming!" I replied, getting off my bed.
I walked down the stairs, and I walked into the kitchen where everybody was at. Lisa and Bella were sitting at the table, talking about their lives. Ross was grilling some chicken and pork chops.
"Oh, there you are. Please, sit," Lisa said, patting the spot next to her.
I sat down. "Am I in trouble?"
"No, of course not. I thought it would be a great idea if you and Bella got to know each other until the boys get here," she suggested.
"Okay."
"Alright. You guys ask each other questions while I go make some salad," Lisa said, getting up from the table.
"This is probably really weird for you," Bella started.
"It's fine. Everything is weird at first, but it gets better over time," I replied, fiddling with my fingers.
"Well, I'll start. I'm forty-one, and I have a husband, but he's in Afghanistan right now. I don't have any kids, and my favorite color is green," she said, listing stuff about herself.
"Wow. Um, my favorite color is pastel blue or yellow. I prefer chocolate ice cream over vanilla, and I don't like mashed potatoes," I stated.

"What? How can you not like mashed potatoes? It's the best thing on this Earth," Bella asked, shocked.
I shrugged. "It's a texture thing."
"Oh, okay. Tell me about your favorite holiday."
"I love Christmas. My parents used to wake me up with chocolate chip waffles and bacon, which is my favorite meal, every Christmas morning," I recalled, smiling at the memory.
"It sounds like you had great parents," she said.
"I did."
"What happened?" She asked, and I bit my lip.
"Sorry, but that's personal," I told her, a little bit harsher than I intended it to be.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I should have known not to ask that," she apologized.
"It's alright," I lied, getting up from the chair.
"Wait, don't go," she said, grabbing my wrist.
I flinched back, quickly. I still flinch a little when anybody touches me, but I'm starting to calm down from it around my friends and the boys.
But, Bella is somebody I don't know. At all. Her face held surpise and curiousity.
"I got to go. I have a lot of homework," I said, walking away.
When I got to my room, I shut the door, and I laid on my bed. I shut my eyes, and darkness overtook me.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Cheering woke me up, and I looked around my room. It was dark, somebody must have turned off the lights, and I checked the time on my phone.
7:22 p.m.
I have been out for a couple of hours. I got off my bed, and I walked downstairs to see what the commotion was.
When I walked into the living room, I found out what the commotion was. The boys were home, and they were talking to Bella. Nobody noticed me present in the room until Winter came over to me.
"Campbell, are you hungry? The food is in the kitchen," Lisa asked me.
"Sure."
I walked into the kitchen where I saw the food. I fixed myself a plate then I sat down at the bar, and I started to eat my food.
"Has Anna talked to you?" A voice asked behind me, scaring the crap out of me.
"Shit! Elliot! You just scared the crap out of me!" I exclaimed, placing a hand on my heart.
"Sorry, but have you?" He apologized.
"Yeah. She actually came over today. We talked, and..wait, why are you asking?" I asked, taking another bite of my salad.
"She did?" He asked, and I nodded."Did she say anything to you about me?"
"That's breaking the girl talk rules, but I will tell you this. She looked she didn't sleep instead she has been crying," I replied.
"Alright."
He was about to walk away when I realized something.
"Hey, did Brent come over?" I asked him.
"No, he had to pick his parents up from the airport."
"Oh, okay," I said, a little disappointed.
"But he told me to tell you something," Elliot said, scratching the back of his head.
"What?" I asked.
"He said that he would call you in the morning, and have sweet dreams."
I found myself smiling, and Elliot smirked.
"Okay, I'm going to leave now. Have fun eating your dinner," Elliot said, walking out of the kitchen.
I finished eating, and I sat down on the porch swing outside.
I looked up at the stars, and somebody sat down next to me. I looked over to see Bella sitting next to me.
"Are you ever going to tell Ross and Lisa that you're father is in jail for murder?"

The Song of Souls
WARNING TO MY USUAL READERS: This is not my usual style of story. I've decided to turn this into an anthology of short one-shot stories, that are very atypical of my usual stories or style. Some will be horror, others romance, and others just stupid silly ideas I have. Basically, a collection of shorts I write when I need a break from my usual writing style. I'll include a summary at the start of each "chapter" telling you what to expect. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE SUMMARY! The content and quality of each story will probably vary wildly. (One is even a horror romance featuring an eldritch horror. I promise it's weirder than it sounds.) If you do want to check out my usual writing, be sure to take a gander at my ongoing series, Of Men and Dragons. It's a bit of a long haul at this point, but hopefully it's worth the read!
