"Sir, it was an accident," I said, getting annoyed.

"Yes, but you were giving clear instructions. I would've given you guys detention for a week, but the accident caused a teacher to get hurt," he replied, using his hands.

"Mr. Ivers, technically, Ms. Gomez was running," Nick told him.

"What does that have to do with anything?" He asked with a confused face.

"If Ms. Gomez wasn't running, she wouldn't have slipped. There was liquid stuff all over the floor. She should have know not to run. I rest my case," Nick said, leaning back in his chair.

Mr. Ivers was silent for a few minutes, before saying, "But she wouldn't have fell if there wasn't no liquid on the ground."

"Well, since you said that, it was all Brent's fault. He was distracted," Nick said, pointing a finger at me.

I can't belive I'm best friends with this idiot.

"Is that true, Mr. Mason?" Mr. Ives asked.

"Yes, but Nick wasn't paying attention either. He could've stopped me, but he wasn't paying attention, either," I said with a smirk.

"Back to square one," Mr. Ives mumbled, "Alright, boys, this is what you are going to do. I can't bench you two because the school needs to get in the playoffs, and you two, and your brothers, are my best players. You will have dentinion Saturday and Monday."

"What happen to 'a teacher was hurt' speech?" Nick asked him.

I whacked him upside the head. Mr. Ivers took that into conceration. Great.

"Mr. Cade, that is a good point. If the school doesn't get into the playoffs this season, you both will benched in lascross all season," he said.

"What!?" We both yelled.

That was too far.

"You heard me. Now, I called both of your parents, so they will deal with you at home. Now get to pratice," he told us firmly.

We walked out of the office. Hallways were empty since everyone went home. That reminds me.

"How did Campbell get home?" I asked Nick.

"I think Anna took her home. Do you think Xavier will ground you?" He asked, walking towards his locker.

Nick put in his combination, and he exchanged books. Homework sucks.

"Xavier probably won't even ask me about it," I said with an eye roll thinking about it.

Xavier is my older brother. He goes to a college ten minutes outside of town. He's always out partying, or at a girl's house.

We get into arguements a lot over him being drunk everynight when he comes home.

"And Vanessa?" He asked.

"She was upset when out parents left, again, but she was fine this morning," I replied.

Vanessa is my little sister. She is a total sweetheart, and she dances. Every since she was three, she wanted to dance. She's really good for a four year old.

"Enough questions about me. How does it feel to have a sister?" I asked him.

He shrugged, "Campbell is nice, but I just feel like she's hiding something."

"Well, she has been in the foster system. Anything could of happened."

"Yeah, but I wish she knew that she can tell us anything."

We walked into the locker room. It was deserted since everybody was on the field.

Nick and I got dressed, and we walked onto the field. Coach was checking things off of his clipboard.

Coach has blonde hair and hazel eyes. He's only twenty six, and he is our youngest coach ever. He is the coach for football, lacross, and baseball.

"Mason! Cade! Your late!" He hollered, looking at us.

"Sorry, Coach, we were held behind for an assignment," I lied.

He shrugged it off. "Get on the field."

He blew his whistle, and I put on my helmet.

Let's play football.

"Breny!" Vanessa yelled when I walked into the house. She ran to me, and I picked her up.

Her brown hair was in pigtails, and her brown eyes were full of exictement. She was dressed in a long sleeve white shirt with a panda on it, and gray sleeping pants. She looked adorable.

"Hey, Nessa. How was your day?" I asked her, using her nickname.

"It was fun. Mrs. Cole taught us some letters," she said with a smile.

"Gosh, you are getting taller everyday I see you," I joked.

She hit my shoulder, playfully. "I'm little not tall."

I laughed at her, and soon she join.

"Thank god, you are here. If I would had to wait for thirty minutes, I would have been late," Xavier said, walking towards us.

"To what? A hookup?" I asked him.

"What's a hookup?" Vanessa asked.

"Nothing you need to worry about, muchkin," Xavier told her.

I put her down, and I squatted down.

"How about you go play with your dolls, and I'll be up with pizza and ice cream?" I asked her.

She nodded. "Okay, but just pepperoni."

"Okay, I'll be up there in a few minutes."

She ran upstairs, and I stood back up. Xavier was leaning againist the rail of the stairs.

He was dressed in a black leather jacket, black jeans, and a white shirt. His dark brown hair was ruffled, and his brown eyes were fulled with boredom.

"Take a picture, it will last longer," He said, sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes,"Where are you going tonight?"

He got off of the rail. "Just going out with a few friends."

"When are you going to back?" I asked him.

He raised his hands up in peace. "Probably by midnight, Dad."

"This isn't funny." I crossed my arms.

He put his hands on my shoulders. He was a little bit taller than me, but I didn't care.

"Chill, little brother, I won't get drunk tonight," he said with a smile. He walked past me, and opened the door.

"That's what you say every night," I mumbled.

"What did you say?" Xavier asked behind me.

I turned around to face him. "Nothing."

"Good, I'll see you later tonight." He shut the door, and I was alone in the living room.

I pulled my phone out, and I ordered a pizza for Vanessa and I. Once I was done, I walked upstairs. I checked on Vanessa then I walked into my room.

My room has dark gray walls, and my bed is in the middle of the room. I have lacrosse sticks hanging on my walls. By my window, I have my shelf full of sports stuff.

My tv hangs on the wall, and a shelf full of books are underneath it. My closet is next to the door.

I put my bag on my bed, and I changed into sweats and a red t-shirt. I looked outside to see the stars shining bright. It was around seven when I got home.

I saw a car park, and I knew that it was the pizza guy. I walked downstairs, and I grabbed a ten dollar bill out of the money jar.

I opened the door before the guy could knock on it. He stood there, holding out pizza.

"It's $6.46," he said.

I handed him the money, and he handed the pizza to me.

"Keep the change," I told him.

"Thank you. Have a good night," he replied.

I shut the door, and I called Vanessa down. She walked down the stairs, and I have her a water to drink. She looked at me like I was crazy.

"Why do I have to drink water?" She asked.

"Because it's a school night, and you are already eating pizza and ice cream. You need something healthy," I told her.

"Do I have to drink it?" She asked, again.

"If you want ice cream, then yes."

"Okay, but don't expect me to like it."

I placed the pizza on the coffee table, and I grabbed us some napkins. If my parents found out we were eating in the living room, they would have our heads.

"Nessa, what do you want to watch?" I asked her, looking on Netflix.

"Can we watch Beauty and the Beast?" She asked with puppy eyes.

"Sure," I replied, turning it on.

We each grabbed a piece of pizza, and we sat back.

We ended up eating all of the pizza, and we had some chocolate ice cream. Vanessa fell asleep towards the end of the movie.

I turned the movie off, and I cleaned up our mess. Once I was done, I picked Vanessa up. She stirred for a minute, but she went back to sleep.

I walked up the stairs, quietly, and I walked towards her room. Her room is right next to mine. I placed her in her pink princess bed.

I covered her up, and I kissed her forehead. I walked out, leaving the door cracked.

I walked towards the end of our hallway, and I walked inside of the bathroom. Vanessa has her own bathroom since she is a girl, and Xander and I share a bathroom.

My parents bedroom and bathroom are on the other side of the house. We rarely go to their hallway since they're never home.

My parents sell houses, apartments, etc. all over the country. They use to leave us with nannies until we got old enough to drive. When Vanessa was born, our mother stayed home until Vanessa was two.

Now, they come home for every holiday, and they come home every now and again.

I turned on the shower, and I jumped in. I washed my hair and my body before getting out. Then I changed back into my sweats and my t-shirt.

I brushed my teeth, and I walked to my room. I got my homework out, and I worked on it for an hour.

Then, I made sure the front door was locked, and I climbed into my bed. I made sure my phone was plugged up before I went to asleep.
