《Foster Brothers | COMPLETED》Ch. 1 - New Foster Family

"This is a nice family, and they have kids around your age," Rachel, my social worker, told me.
We were standing at the airport, waiting for my new foster parents. It is November, and it's chilly outside. It is West Virginia, after all.
"Rachel, are you postive that they have no criminal record, or-" I said, but she cut me off.
"Campbell, sweetie, they are clean. They are really nice people. I'm sorry that I put you in that foster home for two years, but this family is different," she said, looking me in the eyes.
"Okay, I'll give them a chance," I told her.
She smiled at me. "You have your medicine?"
I nodded,"Yes, they're in my bag."
I have to take medicine for my shoulder. My last foster father messed it up, really bad.
My father went to jail for drugs when I was twelve, and my mother ran off when I was seven. My father never hit me, but there was times that he would yell.
"They are here," Rachel whispered to me.
I saw a man and a woman walking to us. The man has black hair and blue eyes, and he was in a suit. The woman has brown hair and brown eyes, and she was in jeans and a blouse.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cade, this is Campbell," Rachel introduced us.
The woman, Mrs. Cade, hugged me. I bit my lip from screaming out in pain. My shoulder is burning in pain, and the bruises on my stomach and back are hurting from her squeeze. The bruises should be gone in a few weeks, or, at least, that is what the doctor said.
"It is so nice to meet you. You can call me Lisa," she said, letting me go.
"Hi," I said, quietly.
"I'm Ross," the man introduced himself. We shook hands.
"Now, Campbell has to go to the physical thearpy at least twice a month, until her shoulder gets better," Rachel said, and Lisa gasped.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry. I didn't know that your shoulder is hurting," she apologizes.
"It's alright."
"I think that is all, but please call me for anything," Rachel said, looking at each one of us.
"Thank you," Ross said.
She smiled and nodded, and she walked out the doors. Ross grabbed my two bags, and Lisa held my hand.
"You don't have to grab my bags," I told Ross.
"It's alright. You don't need any weight on your shoulder," he said.
"Come on, let's get you to the house," Lisa said.
Ross led the way while Lisa stayed by my side. We walked outside to a gray truck. Ross put my bags in the back, and I sat by the window. Lisa sat in the passenger seat while Ross sat in the driver seat.
He started the engine, and we were off on the road. I laid my head on the window, and I looked at the moutains.
"I was thinking we could go shopping this weekend," Lisa suggested.
"Thank you, but I don't want to spend your hard earned money," I said.
"Don't worry about the money. The boys spend it all the time," she replied.
My eyebrows scrunched together. "Boys?"
She nodded,"We have five boys."
My eyes widen. More people to beat on me.
She saw the look on my face. "They're really nice and sweet. They would never hurt you."

"Did Rachel tell you guys my situation?" I asked them.
"She did," Ross said,"and we would never hurt you in any way. The boys don't know, though."
I nodded, and I relaxed some. We contiued to drive for another twenty minutes before we came into a town.
Welcome to Midville. Home of the Wolves. Population: 1,213
We passed multiple shops, some schools, and a park. Ross turned down a neighborhood. The houses on this street were huge!
We rode until he pulled into a driveway. They got out, and I took a deep breath. Then I got out of the truck, and Ross helped me with my bags.
The house was gigantic! It's not just a house, it is a mansion. The front lawn is big, but I have a feeling the back yard is bigger.
Lisa and Ross led me inside. The inside was very spacious! The living room is at your right, and the kitchen is the room next to the living room.
The door on the left leads to the garage. The stairs are in the middle, and there is a chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
They led me upstairs. You can see the living room from the stairs. Lisa and Ross walked past many doors, but stopped at the last door on the left.
They opened it, and gestured me inside. The floor is carpet, and the walls are white. The bed is in the middle of the room, and a little table sat next to it. Sunlight was pouring into the room from the window.
A white desk sat on the other side of the room. A MacBook sat on top of it, and some books. A flatscreen tv was above it. I looked at Lisa and Ross.
"Do you like it?" Lisa asked.
"I love it. Are you sure I'm worth all of this?"
"Every penny," Ross said, and hugged me, gently. Lisa did the same thing.
"That door right there is you own bathroom, and your closet is in there. When we go shopping this weekend, it will be filled up," Lisa said.
"Thank you, both," I told them.
"You're welcome. We'll leave you to unpack," Lisa said, walking out with Ross.
My bags were on my bed. I unpacked my clothes in my closet. In the bathroom, there was a bathtub, a shower, and two sinks. My closet was a walk in closet, and it was as big as my bedroom back in LA.
Once I was done with my bathroom stuff, I put my favorite book, Romeo and Juliet, in the desk drawer. I found a note in the drawer.
You are probably going to say this is too much, but all of our kids have a phone to contact us with. We already set it all up with our numbers.
Lisa & Ross
I looked in the bottom drawer to see a IPhone box. I pulled it out, and it was an IPhone 8. I took it out of the box, and I examined it.
It had all kinds of numbers in it. This was alot compared to what I had. I heard a bark downstairs, so I walked out of my room. I walked down the stairs, and the barking noise became louder.
Lisa was rubbing a dog's tummy. It looked like a husky. It has blue eyes and gray/white fur. It is beautiful.
"I see that you are done unpacking," Lisa said.

"Yes ma'am. Is this your dog?" I asked her.
"Winter is our family dog. We had her since she was four months," she explained.
"She's beautiful," I told her.
"You can pet her if you want."
I nodded. I walked to the dog, and I ran my hand through her soft fur. She perched up, and closed her eyes.
"She likes you," Lisa commented.
"Thank you for the phone."
"No problem. Ross went to the store to grab some tomato sauce," she said.
"Where are the boys?" I asked her.
"They will be here in a few minutes. They didn't have pratice today."
"May I have some water?"
"Of course. You can get it whenever you like. I'll show you where the cups are at."
She got up, and I followed her to the kitchen. She opened a cupboard full of cups, and grabbed me a glass cup. She went to the fridge, and put the glass under the water lever.
Once she was done, she handed me the glass. I took a few mouthfuls of water before thanking her.
Then, the front door opened and was slammed shut.
"Mom, we're home," a voice yelled.
"I'm in the kitchen," she yelled back.
I heard footsteps, and I turned around to meet five pairs of eyes.
One has blonde hair and brown eyes, and the one next to him has dark brown hair and brown eyes. The next two looked identical. Twins. They both have brown hair and brown eyes. The last boy is the youngest, and he has black hair and brown eyes.
"Boys, this is Campbell. She is the girl we talked about yesterday," Lisa said, introducing me.
The boy with blonde hair cleared his throat. "I'm Elliot, and I'm the oldest. I'm eighteen."
The boy next to him said,"I'm Nick, and I'm the second oldest. I'm seventeen."
"I'm Gaberial, and I'm fifteen," one of the twins said.
"And I'm Gavin, his twin," the other one said.
"I'm Michael, and I'm the youngest. I'm thirteen," the boy with black hair said.
"Hello," I said, quietly. On the outside I look perfectly fine, but in the inside I'm shaking.
"Your father is at the store. We are having spaghetti, garlic bread, and a salad for dinner," she told the boys.
"That sounds amazing," Elliot said.
"Delicous," Michael told his mom.
"Brent is coming over later. He had to drive his parents to the airport," Nick said before walking out of the kitchen.
Soon, all of the boys were out of the kitchen. It was just me and Lisa.
"Ross and I enrolled you at Midville High. You start tomorrow," Lisa said.
"Is it a big school?" I asked her.
"No, the school only has two hundred and something kids. It's smaller than other schools," she said, grabbing the pasta out of the pantry.
"That's awesome, I guess. Do you need help cooking?" I asked her.
She smiled. "You know, the boys never ask that question. If you want to, you can start cutting the tomatoes. They have to go in the salad."
She handed me a cutting board and a knife. The tomatoes were on the counter. I started to cut the tomatoes, slowly. This was nice, I guess.
After I cut all of the tomatoes, I heard the door close. Ross came into the kitchen with a bag.
"Here is the tomato sauce you asked for, my lady," he said, handing the bag to Lisa. He kissed her on the cheek.
#Married Goals.
"Why thank you," Lisa said with a smile.
"Mrs. C, what is the amazing smell?" A voice asked.
A boy around my age walked into the kitchen. He has fluffy blonde hair, and beautiful blue eyes. He's towering over my 5'3 height. He was staring at me with a curious look on his face.
Handsome is an understatement, he is hot.
"Hey, I'm Brent," he introduced himself.
"Hi, I'm Campbell," I said.
"Campbell is our foster child," Ross said.
"Well, I hope to see you around, Campbell," he said with a smile.
"Yeah."
He walked out of the kitchen, and I heard him walking up the stairs.
"Brent is the boys' best friend. He is over here, alot. His parents are always out of town," Lisa explained behind me.
"May I be excused?" I asked them.
"Yes, thank you for your help," Lisa said.
"You are welcome."
I exited the kitchen, and I walked upstairs. Last door on the left. I kept reminding myself.
I walked into my room, and I closed my door. I went to my MacBook, and I went to google. I need to learn more about this town if I'm going to live here.
Facts about Midville, WV
• The high school was built in 1950.
•The Wolfs had three unbeatable seasons in football and volleyball.
•The town fountain is known as The Wishing Fountain.
I continued to read about Midville. It's actually a really cool town. I heard a knock on my door, so I closed the computer.
"Come in," I said.
Lisa poked her head in. "Dinner is ready."
"Okay," I said, and I followed her out the door.
We walked downstairs, but we didn't walk into the kitchen. We walked into the dining room. Everybody was already seated. I sat between Brent and Gavin.
"Alright. Everybody dig in," Ross said.
They passed around the food, and my plate has everything on it. I started to eat, and everybody was in their own conversation.
"Where did you move from?" Brent asked.
"LA," I replied before taking a bite of my salad.
"That's a cool city," he said with a charming smile.
"Do you play any sports, Campbell?" Michael asked.
This got everybody's attention. I guess they love sports.
"I use to play volleyball before I hurt my shoulder," I said.
"What happened?" Nick asked.
I looked at Lisa and Ross, and they were shaking their heads.
"I-I, um, was helping my last foster home carry a couch. I pulled the muscle. The doctor said the muscle tore," I explained.
"That sucks. I remember when Elliot tore one of his muslces in his leg. He couldn't play for the whole season," Gaberial said.
"What do you guys play?" I asked them.
"We're all on the football team and we have lacrosse in the spring, except Michael," Elliot said.
"Yeah, but I'll play next year. This year, I'm playing soccer," Michael said.
"That's awesome," I told them.
That's how the rest of the night went. I learned more about the boys, and they learned some things about me.
Maybe I'll actually be loved in this family.
