《H1ghr High School》4

We won the game and went out to a pizza place to celebrate.
We all occupied numerous booths. I sat with Jay, Haon and Minsik. I sat across from Jay and next to Haon. Jarvis, Harry, Ted and Woojae were all in the booth behind us, Jarvis, being directly behind me. "Heeji, how're you gonna tell me at the game that you and Haon aren't together but sit next to him while we celebrate?" Jarvis turned around in his seat to bother me. Haon's face went red and I sighed. "I wanted to sit with my brother. This is just a coincident." I told Jarvis, turning around in my seat as well. "And what about at practice today? Y'all were running together." Ted joined in on the conversation. "I wanted her to feel encouraged so I ran with her for moral support." Haon defended himself. "Y'all denying it doesn't change the fact that y'all are cute together." Jarvis shrugged, winked at me and turned back around in his seat.
Pizzas arrived and Jay, Haon and Minsik eyed my plate questionably. "Are you on some health kick or something?" Minsik asked me as I picked up a slice of spinach pizza. "No, I like spinach pizza." I sighed, wondering when I'd stop being judged. "But vegetables don't go on pizza." Jay cringed. "You're eating pizza with mushrooms." I pointed out to him. "Mushrooms aren't a vegetable. They're a fungus." Jay tried sounding smart. "Is that supposed to be better?" I cringed. "HOLD UP!" Jarvis hollared, turning around in his seat again. "I know you are not eating spinach pizza! That is the nastiest thing in the world!" "Literally no One complained when I ordered it." I huffed. "No. No. No. Haon you need to break up with her right now." Jarvis continued his protest on spinach pizza. "Well to break up with her, I would have to be dating her first." Haon said simply. "I am moving tables. Dear God." Haon let me up and I carried my food and drink over to Jewook's table. He was sitting alone. "Hey Heeji." He smiled at me, playing some sort of piano game on his phone.

His table wasn't far from where I was sitting before but it was an improvement. "I hope I'm not intruding or anything." "No, you're fine." He said, sitting his phone down. "Hell yeah she is!" Danny yelled from across the isle. "Men getting you down?" Jewook looked at me with sympathy in his eyes. "And women." I sighed, recalling the shower incident earlier today. Jewook raised an eyebrow at me and I relived the incident to him.
"But why were girls making you so nervous?" I paniced. Had I indirectly outed myself? "I'm just really insecure." That wasn't a lie. "I don't see why that would make you nervous around other girls though." Crap, he's onto me. "It just did." I huffed again, feeling myself getting red in the face. "What about girls making Heeji nervous?" Hwimin and Kyujung joined us. I looked at Hwimin who recently bleached his hair. His hair looked great but something seemed off about his appearance.
"Where are your eyebrows?" I changed the topic so I didn't accidentally come out when I'm not ready. "What are talking about?" "Where are your eyebrows?" I asked him again. "I bleached my hair." He said, as if I was dumb. "That doesn't answer my question." I bit my lip, holding back my laughter. "They're where they're supposed to be. I just bleached my hair." He huffed at me. "All of your hair?" I choked back a giggle. "Shut up." Hwimin rolled his eyes and I let all of my laughs out. "Why're you sitting here when your boyfriend is with your brother?" Kyujung asked me. "Bold of you to assume I have a boyfriend." I said in an ironically confident tone. "You and Haon aren't dating?" Kyujung sounded surprised.

I was sitting across from Jewook and noticed him glare at Kyujung and Hwimin. They awkwardly excused themselves and it was just me and Jewook again. "If anyone is ever bothering you, let me know okay?" Jewook seemed stern. "Okay..." I was slightly stunned. "I'm a pretty intimidating person and I don't want anyone giving you a hard time. Putting up with us all the time is probably stressful enough. We don't need senseless rumors spreading." Jewook looked at me with a more than simple smile. I had noticed that other members of the team were scared of him but I never felt a need to be scared of him.
"Whyre you sitting by yourself?" I asked Jewook. "I'm not. You're sitting with me." Jewook laughed. "Before I sat with you." I rolled my eyes. "Everyone is to noisy. I just wanted to eat my pizza and play my piano." Jewook said simply, motioning around the table. "I didn't know you played piano." "Yeah, baseball is more of a hobby. I like music more than anything."
"Jewook! Finish eating! We're gonna go to karaoke after this!" Jay cheered. Jewook sighed and looked down at his plate. "As much as I love music, karaoke is not my cup of tea." Jewook gave me a forced smile and finished the last bit of his pizza. "I feel that." I sighed, standing from the booth and walking towards my brother.
Jay slung his arm around the top of my head and dragged me to the bus We rode in on. "You're gonna sit with me on the way to karaoke." Jay oddly hissed. "Why can't I sit with someone else?" I pouted. "Yeah Jay. Let her sit with her boyfriend." Solomon laughed, grabbing Haon the same way Jay grabbed me. "We are not dating!" Me and Haon both yelled. "Well you and Jewook aren't sitting together either." Jay tightened his grip on my head. "Come on Jay. Why would I wanna talk to a freshman like that?" Jewook interjected. "I don't know. Why would you?" Jay was being irrationally protective. I had never entertained the idea of dating anyone on the baseball team... I hadn't really entertained the idea of dating at all.

At least, they were until she finds herself in the middle of an Anathema invasion… A Dark Magical Girl LitRPG with sci-fi elements. Note: Slow burn and gradual introduction of LitRPG mechanics that become a focal point once introduced. Please be aware this story contains intense violence, gore, traumatic situations, and other potentially unsettling content. Chapter One and Two are considered the first “episode” and introduction into the book. As such, they are mega length to allow for uninterrupted reading. Enjoy!
