《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》S2 Part 39 - For the Queen

"Look! There's (Y/N)!"
Toga was straddling the dead body of a thug with her knife stuck in his jugular while watching the wide screen television in the room. The League needed a place to camp out for a while, and Twice found an in between spot where some low lives were, more or less, welcoming.
"Sorry, Shigaraki. I thought they'd be cool," Twice said, ""
Shigaraki dusted the human ashes from his hands onto his pants, "It'll do, Twice."
"I'll say," Compress grinned from beneath his mask, "They have running water."
"Dibs on first shower!" Toga said, "I want to look nice for my (Y/N)!"
Spinner opened a box of crackers from the pantry and began eating them, "No argument there. You're covered in the poor guy's blood..."
"Are you sad about it?" She asked.
"They attacked first... I'm just not sure if any of this has to do with Stain's ideals."
"I love Stainy," Toga pulled the knife free from the dead guy's throat, "But I love showers too."
Shigaraki plopped down on the couch in front of the T.V.. He was sulking and not doing much to hide it. Not only did he lose you, but he lost his master too. Without All For One's guidance, how was he supposed to keep going?
"Cheer up, Shiggy," Toga looked up at him, "We can play some video games?"
"Not now," he sighed, and continued watching the news closely.
There you were. Walking out of the hospital with your "posse." Tomura glowered at the green-haired boy in particular. Why haven't I killed him yet?! So annoying...
"Does she... have wings?" Compress asked, "I don't remember wings."
"She looks so pretty! I love her even more," Toga swooned.
"She does..." Tomura scoffed, "She's always going to be surrounded by all those heroes. It's infuriating."
"Poor girl," Compress shrugged, "I really thought she'd flourish here. Her life looks so suffocating."
"When do we get her back?" Toga asked.
Tomura crossed his arms. For a while he was silent, thoughtful. The League eyed him in anticipation, even Dabi who was lurking in the corner lighting a cigarette with his fingertip.
"Doesn't that hurt?" Spinner asked, "Your body is already..."
"Exactly," Dabi blew a thick cloud into the air.
Shigaraki watched your face from the safety of the television screen, and suddenly smiled. He could see it in your eyes as you starred at the people harassing you. The ideals forced on you by the heroes were slowly slipping.
"I don't think we have to do anything," he said, "I think the next move is going to be hers."
"Really?" Compress asked.
"The tighter my grip, the harder she struggles to break free," Tomura explained, "I think we gave her enough to think about."
Dabi chuckled, "Doesn't it ruin your fantasy that she's your, what, niece or something?"
"Don't be stupid!" Tomura snapped, "That's obviously not a thing."
"So, we let her go free. That's the plan?" Dabi asked.
"For now."
Dabi dropped the cigarette on the ground and put it out with the heel of his boot, "I'm out of here."
"Where are you going?" Spinner asked.
"Recruiting. Something other than pout about losing my girlfriend," he shot a condescending glance at Tomura.
"Wait!" Toga shrieked and pointed at the television, "Look! What's happening - what's happening?!"
Tomura's eyes grew wide. This... couldn't have gone any better. His throat was dry as he laughed in surprise and interest.

"Well, well! Looks like (Y/N) is going to have her hands full," he beamed, "Maybe she'll need our help sooner than I thought."
The questions hit you from every direction:
Did you know that Butcher returned before the night All For One attacked?
Are you working for your father?
Did Stefano Valentini kidnap you?
Are you working with The League of Villains?
Why did you look more villainous now?
Did Hawks kill Valentini because you two are an item? Does the small age gap bother either of you?
Would you and Shinso return to UA? What about Bakugo?
Was UA allowing you to continue your schooling and getting certified?
Did you think any agency would accept you?
What happened between you and All Might at Kamino? Did you hurt him? Why?
The heroes Aizawa brought along helped keep anyone from getting too close, which you were grateful for, but it was still hard to hear. These were the people you were going to be helping one day, but it didn't sound like they wanted your help.
What did they want from you?
You tried to keep a blank expression and wished you knew how to fly with your new wings so you could just disappear. Someone brushed your shoulder and stood in the way of some nosey people and their phones while keeping pace with you.
"You're doing fine," Bakugo grumbled, "Don't give those vultures anything they want."
He side glanced down at you with mild concern. You sighed, feeling like you didn't deserve any of your friends and their kindness. The fact that Bakugo was being kind at all was kind of a miracle.
You grabbed onto his arm, making him stiffen, but he didn't pull away. He squished your hand between his bicep and ribs. "I know you're all tough now but I can still protect you... if you want," he said.
"Thanks, Katsuki," you grinned.
"Don't fucking mention it."
Momo appeared to your right and interlaced her fingers with yours. You looked up in surprise at her warm but determined smile. "We'll get through this," she said, "I remember feeling a little strange doing commercials during my internship because of my looks... Your heart is what's important."
You smiled, I really don't deserve any of you!
"There's a lot more people than I thought there would be," Izuku said, "They seem so upset..."
"This probably isn't the best time to be thinking aloud, Midoriya," Shoto said.
Izuku cringed, "R-Right!"
When Shinso walked by the crowd accompanied by his mom, you could sense their immediate fear and intrigue. They cowered back as if he could, or would even want to, brainwash them all on the spot.
One ballsy chick skirted through the heroes to speak to Shinso, "Shinso! My friends and I all think you're fucking hot you can totally brainwash us anytime!"
She wasn't unattractive, you noted with a sour taste in your mouth. Guess fans were a positive thing...
But when the girl went to touch Shinso's arm, his mom caught her by the hand and smiled the most unfriendly smile you'd ever seen.
"You're going to head back to your friends now, dear," Mihoko said. You forgot, her quirk worked like Shinso's, except that instead of through conversation, all she had to do was touch someone to control them.
The fan girl slowly backed off and turned around. The heroes apologized for allowing her to break the fold. Shinso rubbed the side of his face in embarrassment and also appreciation.
Go mom!

You thought the worst of it was over and the excitement was dying down when a blur of red feathers dove down from the sky and landed inside your friend circle.
"Heyo!" Hawks grinned at you, "Wow, miss popular, huh?"
"What are you doing here," Aizawa groaned.
"Had to support my girl," he shrugged, "We're dating now, didn't you know?"
You froze and starred at him in panic, "D-Don't go saying crap like that! Not around all these gossiping weirdos!"
Hawks feigned puppy eyes, "Hurt my feelings why don't you. Oh - this must be your harem!" He waved to your classmates who all had a mixture of awe and disappointment with his presence.
"I believe it's a reverse-harem for a group of boys?" Iida suggested, earning a few dirty looks from your friends, "Uh, I just mean if we're being technical!"
"My bad," Hawks said, "Good thing you only got one man to worry about, right, (Y/N)?"
You could feel Bakugo's skin turning lava hot to match his temper, "Who wants chicken nuggets for lunch..." A small explosive popped in his hand.
"You can't do that to Hawks, Kacchan!" Izuku pleaded.
But Hawks, as usual, didn't look bothered, "Oh! I do!"
Aizawa glowered at the nuisance being created, "I'll ask again, why are you here? Did they ask you to come?"
Hawks turned to your teacher with a little more respect than he showed previously, "Yeah. I'm the backup in case it gets too hairy out here. How do you feel about flying, kido? Looks like you sprouted some wings of your own!"
"Uh..." you laughed nervously, but you were all interrupted.
"You're from UA and her teacher, right?" A man stood out from the crowd and addressed Aizawa. Your heart sank, recognizing this man as someone from the press conference during the kidnapping.
"Yes," Aizawa said.
"I'm amazed. You have a reputation for expelling students within the first days of classes. And yet, this girl who clearly shouldn't be studying hero work is still enrolled. With what - academic probation? A slap on the wrist? It's obvious the villains favored her and she was spotted with them publicly. What are we teaching our future protectors? That's it's okay to sympathize with the enemy? Have anything to say about that - (Y/N)?"
Everyone was silent, even the excited crowd waited for your response. Aizawa didn't expect you to say anything, nor wanted you to, but part of you was ready to pounce on this guy and tell him exactly how you felt about him and his questions.
You thought about Tomura often, unfortunately. You never got the chance to ask him but you wondered what his upbringing was like with his quirk. It couldn't have been easy, you would know. Sure, your quirk didn't disintegrate people but look how society treated you.
He never had a chance.
Twice's tortured face came to your mind too. He was a lost person, a disturbed person, but who would help him? Of course, villains would. You looked out at the many innocent faces, knowing full well none of them would have stepped in to help Twice. It should be the other way around. Maybe, if you helped the people who really needed it, there would be less villains to worry about?
Of course, there were always people like Valentini, who were beyond anyone's reach...
You took a step forward, letting go of Momo's hand. Bakugo tried to keep you close but also wasn't sure what you were doing. The man egging you on smirked as you left the safety of your friends to face him. Aizawa had his scarf ready in his hand and Hawks kept his keen eyes on you with curiosity.
"Aren't you tired?" You asked.
The man was stunned, "Huh?"
"Aren't you tired," you repeated, "Tired of chasing me? Expecting - no - hoping I screw up. So, what, you can 'get' me? Catch me in the act. Prove that I'm a monster? That'll make you happy?"
"You-"
"We just lost All Might," your voice rose, "Why aren't we focusing on restoring peace? Instead of focusing on something as insignificant to all of you as my love life?
I accept that my dad is the Butcher. I don't like it but I can't change it either. I can also understand that that might scare some of you - but maybe instead of worrying about how powerful I could become, you should just be happy that I'm on your side."
Crickets. It was as if no one expected you to actually speak back. You were just a punching bag for the media to play with.
Sorry, your eyes narrowed, not anymore.
The sound of clapping hands came from behind you. It was awkward and painfully slow, and when you turned around you saw the smug look on Hawks's face, "Bravo."
Thanks to Hawks's encouragement, a few fans in the crowd followed suit and cheered you on. The man questioning you turned red in the face both angry and humiliated, "Sure, you have all the heroes wrapped around your pretty finger, but isn't that part of your nature? I won't be fooled by a witch like you!"
"That's enough!" Aizawa moved to protect you from further bombardment. That's when you spotted something that stopped your beating heart.
You saw the same skeleton mask that the Butcher wore. And his hooded jacket. The look on your face must have alerted Aizawa and Hawks because they both leered in the same direction you were facing.
That wasn't the only mask you saw, though. Standing in the mass of people were several masked, hooded, people. They seemed to continue popping up as if they choreographed this.
Movement from the rooftop of nearby buildings also captured your attention. More skull-faced people sprouted like weeds growing all over town.
"What is this..." you could sense something horrible coming.
One of the mask wearers pushed his way to the front. He wore the same costume as Butcher, but you knew it wasn't him. This person was too thin to be your father.
Midnight and Monarch both dragged you back, Midnight clutching you as if you were about to be ripped out of her arms. "Eraser..." she hissed.
"I know," his eyes were glowing and his hair stood on end.
The masked stranger got close enough to the reporter who was pestering you, who took one look at the plastic skull and the color drained from his face. What happened next caught you all off guard.
"We're gonna have to ask you to stop right there, Skellator," Hawks said.
He did stop, for a second. But from the sleeve of his jacket, the stranger drew a knife. He buried it deep in the reporter's stomach and said in a malicious whisper;
"For the queen..."
It happened so fast. Even Hawks's jaw dropped. You gasped. Midnight shouted something you couldn't understand because nothing was computing. Aizawa was already working to restrain the assassin. The crowd scattered in a panic as they began noticing the other skeleton figures.
"(Y/N)!" You heard Shinso shout. You turned, horror written all over your face, but he was being held back by one of the heroes.
Bakugo's eyes were wide and Kirishima yanked him back to follow the heroes to where they were evacuating everyone to safety. Iida had to grab onto Izuku and Shoto who were both preparing their attacks while Momo was glued to the spot.
You saw the red blood from the knife wound spilling onto the sidewalk. There was an awful ringing in your ears, drowning everything out.
"Baby girl!" Monarch shook your shoulder, "You're going to go with the nice bird man now, okay?"
You didn't respond, but Hawks scooped you up in his arms. Before you could utter a single word, you were airborne. The wind roared and your hair danced in your eyes. The dying reporter collapsed and became a small red dot in your vision becoming smaller, and smaller...
Until nothing.

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

8 157Another Terror Infinity Fan Fiction
This is my first time writing anything on rrl. I've been a reader for a couples years now and decided that I wanted to give it a shot. I might not finish this story and the releases will be eratic but I'll try to get at least one chapter out on Sundays but if I don't have time it obviously won't happen. The title of the story should tell you everything you want to know about it. I welcome all criticism and hope I can provide entertainment for whoever reads this.
