《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》S2 Part 38 - Maneater
Advertisement
A hint of sunshine leaked into your hospital room from the window blinds. You sighed, wishing the night would have lasted a lifetime.
Last night...
Your eyes widened. Shinso was still in your rooms. In your arms. You had one leg hugging around his torso and both arms around his neck. He was sound asleep still, breathing calmly next to your collarbone. His strong hands held you around your waist and in the light, you could better appreciate the definition in his biceps and back.
Aizawa has been training the hell out of you!
You shook yourself out of that trance. Focus! You had no idea what time it was and if or when nurses would be by the check on you. Or heaven forbid his dad! Neither of you had much clothing on. You must've fallen asleep right after.
"Shinso!" you whispered, "Wake up!"
You wriggled free of his heavy arms that fell limp when you disappeared. He didn't stir. Not even a peep.
"Shinso," you hissed this time, "Come on! Walk of shame - here we go!"
Nothing. Just a gentle snore.
"Fine," you yanked the blankets off him, "Then I'll drag you out and you can explain to your dad why... wha..."
When you looked down at your bra, something seemed very off. As in, your cup size. You felt yourself up, noticing your boobs were spilling out of your bra.
That's strange... this fit fine yesterday.
You brushed it off, assuming Shinso stretched the fabric out with all the aggressive rubbing. As much as you wanted him to leave, you also enjoyed seeing him sprawled out half naked. You were starting to feel hot all over again.
"Hitoshi!" You leaned over his body and pinched his cheeks, "I will throw you out of here without your shirt!"
He twitched slightly but rolled over, completely ignoring you. You were about to make good on your threat and grab him by his ankles when something else caught your eye.
Was your skin... smoother?
It wasn't an extraordinary change, but enough for you to notice. Every blemish or bruise had become nonexistent. Even your nails were clean and shiny. You went to feel your arms out of curiosity and they were soft as butter. Not bad?
You brushed the hair out of your eyes and felt something hard that shouldn't be attached to your head.
"What the hell..."
With hesitant fingers, you reached for the top of your head again and felt not one but two small sharp objects. Now you were feeling a little crazy. You hurried towards the small bathroom but for some reason bumped into the door awkwardly.
"Walk much, (Y/N)," you scolded yourself. Your eyes eagerly searched for the bathroom mirror.
"Oh..."
You weren't exactly sure what you were looking at. It was you, but maybe a "you" cosplaying as someone's demon fantasy. Attached to your back were two, thin bat-like wings. They were smooth, leathery, and burgundy in color. The red textures created an ombré from your spine down. When you went to touch them you could feel them like it was part of your body.
"No..."
The bumps you felt earlier on your head were two small horns that just barely peaked out from your hair.
"No, no, no, no..."
Something was different about your face too. Your lashes seemed thicker but you had no makeup on. Your lips were fuller. Your hair was glossier and more vibrant. Did everything seem annoyingly prettier?
........ my boobs!!
Yup. Your chest was perkier and at least one size larger than yesterday. What about the ass, you thought. You felt around your backside to see if anything outlandish happened down there.
It was worse.
You pulled on a tail. It was similar in color to your wings and you could pull it around your body to see it. The tip was almost heart-shaped.
Oh... my...
You screamed.
That seemed to wake Shinso up. You heard him falling from the pullout bed, cursing, and then scrambling to his feet.
"What is it!" He barged into the bathroom not even bothering to knock. Shinso either realized his mistake or he was awestruck by what he saw.
"I have wings!" you cried, "Wings. A-And horns? And a tail - a fucking tail!" You spun around and looked at him desperately, "Help?"
Shinso was stunned. He continued to stare at the new additions to your body. At first, he looked as startled as you were, but then his cheeks started turning pink.
"Shinso..?"
He covered his mouth with his hand and turned to the side.
"You better say something right now, Hitoshi!" You panicked.
He muttered under his breath, "... it's cute."
"What?"
He couldn't completely hide his growing blush so he turned all the way around and faced the wall, "It's... cute."
"Cute?! I'm a monster!"
To make everything worse, the door to your room burst open. The sound of several feet hitting the tile came running towards you.
"Is everything okay! ... Son?"
Hajime stood outside the bathroom door with a couple of nurses who looked petrified. The screaming must've alerted... everyone. Shinso's dad glared at his son and then you, then back to his son, "The hell did you do?"
"Uh..." Shinso cringed.
You wrapped your arms over your chest to squish your boobs down. You were still in just a bra and underwear, and now you looked like a succubus in all your glory, "Sir, he didn't do this - I don't think..."
"What!?" Shinso said.
"Well," you shrugged, "I don't know! I don't know how this happened overnight."
Hajime grabbed one of the towels hanging on the wall and handed it to you. The nurses eyeballed Hitoshi's abs and started giggling amongst themselves.
"Everyone- out!" Hajime grabbed his son by the ear, "Put a shirt on, Hitoshi. (Y/N), I'll be back in a second and we'll figure this out."
"Okay..." you gave Shinso apologetic eyes before he was dragged off by his dad.
Later, Monarch and Midnight showed up in your room at lightning speed while Dr. Shinso examined you. They had staff on duty with x-ray vision to inspect the new body parts that sprouted out of nowhere.
"This is odd," the examiner said. He adjusted his quirk-enhancing goggles while he ran a finger down your spine and along one of your wings.
"What is?" Hajime asked.
"It's... not bone, or even cartilage. It seems to be moving, like blood flow, but this is... Maybe it's more of an electrical current, actually."
"Electricity is doing this?" You asked.
"I know you're freaking out right now..." Monarch pressed his lips together to contain his huge smile, "But I LOVE this. You look fierce, like a real maneater!"
"I don't wanna be a maneater," you pouted.
Midnight leaned her head to the side, "It's not a bad look if you're feeling self-conscious?"
"Aunty..."
"Sorry," she smirked, "How did this happen?"
Dr. Shinso crossed his arms, "Well. It could be part of your quirk's evolution as we discussed. It just took on a physical form."
"So I'm stuck like this forever?" You asked.

The examiner took a ruler to your wingspan and then to your horns, "May I?" He asked before grabbing your tail.
"All yours," you grumbled.
After he was done doing his measurements he shook his head as if totally bewildered, "They're already smaller than when I first got here."
"How can that be?" Midnight asked.
"The current that I'm seeing seems to be depleting. How did you say your quirk worked before?"
"I take energy from people, and it makes me stronger until I use it up?" You said.
"Ah. Then I would think this works similarly. We won't know until we test it, though."
A knock came at the door and Shinso stepped inside. He saw Midnight and Monarch and tried to hide the embarrassment on his face, "Morning."
"Good morning... defiler," Monarch turned up his nose.
You leered at your godfather, "Oh gods... for real?"
"Look who's talking," Midnight hissed at him, "Hi, Shinso, sweetie... just ignore him."
Hajime didn't even bat an eye. It must be a Shinso family thing to handle insults well, at least on the outside. Monarch's eyeliner was created specifically for this death glare he produced, "Are we not going to talk about the slutty elephant in the room?"
"If anything I'm the slutty elephant, Monarch!" You snapped, "So knock it off."
He gasped and cowered at your side, shoving the examiner out of the way, "Please don't hate me, pumpkin. Your tone was so cold!"
"He spent the night in my room, that's it," you grimaced, looking up at Shinso for approval of your rouse.
"Right..." Hajime sighed, "In any case, you're not in any danger but this is likely permanent and a new learning curve with your quirk."
Your shoulders drooped, "The wings aren't even big enough to fly with... what is the point?"
Midnight pat your head, avoiding your horns, "Hey, we'll figure this out. Who knows, maybe they'll have their uses. And if not then you'll look killer fighting crime?"
"... thanks."
Shinso cleared his throat, "So, she's okay?"
"Yes, Romeo, no thanks to you," Monarch sassed, but when you glared at him he changed course, "... but thanks for your concern."
"What does that mean?" Shinso asked.
"I can't say whatever happened last night didn't affect this... outcome," Hajime said, "But her evolution began before she came to see me. Probably long before coming to the hospital."
Like, after I killed Valentini...
"Oh," Midnight's voice dropped, "That would make sense."
Shinso raised a brow, "Something I should know, (Y/N)?"
He looks mad, you thought. Before this got out of hand you asked to talk to Shinso alone. Everyone else, minus the examiner, knew already, but you didn't want to hide it from Shinso any longer.
"Don't take too long, you two," Hajime said in a dry tone.
Midnight dragged Monarch out of the room while you all listened to him continue to spout hypocrisy about Shinso's dirty deeds. She mouthed "sorry" to you and Shinso before leaving the room.
"You messed around way before eighteen, get off your high horse," she scolded him.
Once you were in the clear Shinso smirked, "I think he likes me."
"Don't take it personally," you scoffed, "He's new to the whole 'dad' thing."
He smiled and then looked down at his feet, "So. When you said you got carried away with Bakugo... I didn't think you meant like all the way?"
"Wait - what? I didn't!"
"Oh. I thought that's what they were talking about with your quirk evolving," he scratched the back of his neck, "I wouldn't have judged you, I was just hoping you weren't lying last night."
You pushed away from the bed, "I wasn't lying, but I wasn't saying the whole truth either..."
"Okay..."
"So," you played with your fingers like you were confessing to your school crush and not to murder, "When I was trying to rescue you, I was taken - right? The League came and saved us, sort of, but there was a point where they couldn't stop Valentini from stabbing me."
You watched to see if Shinso could put the rest together on his own, but said it anyway, "I killed him. Shinso."
His expression melted from jealousy to a look you didn't see often for Shinso. The only other time you saw this defeated look in his eyes was after the sports festival and his loss against Izuku. His brows pushed together and from far away it would just look like anger, but inside he was hurting.
"Say something?" You said.
He let out an uneven sigh, "I... Probably would've done the same. I'm just sorry you had to be the one to do it."
"What's wrong?" You asked, noticing him losing his composure.
"What's wrong?" He snapped, "What's wrong is not only did you have to save me but you had to kill someone to do it. I'm still... weak!" Shinso clenched his jaw.
Luckily, nothing was near him because he looked like he was going to have a Bakugo moment and destroy something. You slowly approached him with your hand outreached, "Hey..."
"And now I'm always going to be reminded that I failed you," his purple eyes went up and down at your wings. You knew he didn't say that to hurt you, but it did. This body was still new so your insecurities were fresh.
"Stop that," you said, "Yeah, I killed him. He was a maniac with a knife to my face who almost blew your head off, Shinso!" Your chest was rising rapidly, "And I would do it again!"
"No," he growled. Suddenly, you were pressed up against the cold, white walls of your room. Shinso held both of your wrists tightly while his eyes bore into yours. Dark knight, Shinso - you named this aggressive persona.
"I'll make sure you never have to kill anyone to help me, ever again," his stare wavered from sad to angry.
"Shinso, it's okay-"
He slammed his lips against yours. It came on a little hostile but soon you both melted into it. After a moment, he pulled back, still holding onto you but glared down at your feet.
"I'll get stronger... I promise," he said.
**
The moment finally came.
The hospital walls weren't going to protect you anymore. Hajime offered an extended stay, but you knew you needed to get on with your life - whatever it brought you.
Midnight brought more clothes for you but had to make a quick purchase on the way over for wing-specialized clothing. Slits were cut out in the back of the thin hoodie. When you tried pulling it all the way down, you realized it was a crop top.
"Sorry," Midnight winced, "I didn't bother unfolding it - I just grabbed the cutest color!"
"It's fine," you sighed, "I was expecting to look like a sex icon, today."
You gave her a sarcastic thumbs up, "I'm just glad I didn't grow hooves..."
You put on the matching sweatpants that also had room for your tiny tail. This is going to need some serious getting used to...
While you were waiting on Shinso, you stood in the lobby with your "escort" team. Aizawa was true to his word and had heroes with him to exit the hospital with you two. It was a special treat for some of the patients coming in to get autographs from some of the pros.
You fully expected to see Monarch and Midnight and Shinso's parents present too, but you did not expect your other entourage.
"Uh," your teacher eyed your wings, "Looks like you have a lot of training to catch up on during your break."
"Yes, sir..." you tried moving your wings on command but it didn't seem to come as naturally as you would've hoped.
"Also. I didn't invite them," Aizawa grumbled and pointed at the group behind him with his thumb, "But they can stay so long as they don't cause trouble, I guess."
"Hi, (Y/N)..." Izuku's green head popped out from behind Aizawa with a bashful wave.
"Oh, hey, Deku," you smiled, "What are you doing here?"
"W-Well, I came because it looked like you could use some support today," he said, "And Kacchan, Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Iida, and Kirishima too."
"Hey, everyone?" You smiled.
Bakugo was fuming but he didn't make to punch Izuku or anything which was out of character, you thought. Kirishima who stood next to him, likely to pull the reigns if needed, gapped when he saw you, "Woah, (Y/N)? What are those!"
"Oh, these... These were a little surprise from this morning."
"You didn't know this could happen?" Momo asked, "I haven't heard of quirks that develop like that."
"It's rare but it happens," Izuku said, "It must mean you're getting stronger!"
"What?!" Bakugo's eyes went completely white, "We both get kidnapped and you benefit from it. This is bullshit!"
Iida stepped in with his chopping hand motions, "No shouting in the hospital, Bakugo!"
"We're just glad you're okay and... " Kirishima said with a blush, "Well, we were part of the rescue party so we figured we should follow through!"
"Yes... the rescue party," everyone felt Aizawa's piercing gaze.
"You guys?" You asked.
"These idiots pulled you and Bakugo out of the fight in Kamino," your teacher sighed.
Bakugo growled, "No one pulled me anywhere! I saved your lame ass after you decided to pass out in the middle of a war zone!"
"I do remember that," you muttered, "But thank you, all of you. I'm... touched that you came for us."
Everyone returned the smile, minus Bakugo who gave a grumpy side glance. And Shoto who had been quiet through most of this stepped forward to take your hand.
"You ready?" He asked. You felt the phantom ice from his fingertips. Truthfully, no, you weren't. You could already see a few newscasters outside the glass doors, and then the mob of civilians with their phones.
"Uh, y-yeah, I'm just waiting-"
A tall presence appeared from behind you and a hand slid down your back. Shoto's duel-colored eyes shifted from your face upward.
"Oh, the gang's all here," Shinso said in his deceptively charming voice. The wholesome atmosphere became one filled with tension - not from all of you, but definitely a few...
"S-Shinso! Hey," Izuku said.
"Hello, Midoriya."
You shivered.
"It's good to see you're doing well, Shinso," Momo smiled. She gave you a quick glance as if to say "hopefully this helps!"
"Yes - I hope to work with you all as classmates again as soon as you are able," Iida chimed in.
"Thank you. Looking forward to it," Shinso said, his hand hadn't left your side but Shoto hadn't released yours either.
If one of us doesn't move soon I might die...
Aizawa rolled his eyes and shoved his way through both Shoto and Hitoshi, lifting you by the elbow, "Make this any more complicated than it already is and you're all expelled."
As you were ushered forward by your teacher you glanced over your shoulder at your friends. Momo and Iida were hot on Aizawa's heels, but Shinso, Todoroki, and Bakugo were in a triforce of hostile energy. Kirishima and Midoriya hadn't moved either, but they were too sweet to contribute the same negativity.
"H-Hey, why don't we get going?" Izuku offered.
"Yeah... don't want to get left behind," Kirishima said carefully.
Bakugo turned around in a huff and bumped Izuku's shoulder, "Out of my way, dumbass."
You gave Shinso a sad smile before returning your attention to the exit and Aizawa. The nerves were easier to suppress with all the craziness from this morning to distract you. Aizawa could sense your distress and gently released your arm.
"We'll protect you. Just ignore those idiots and their cameras. There's nothing better for them to do with their lives, so take pity on them if anything," he said.
You snorted, appreciating him trying to help, "Thanks... let's get this part over with."
