《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》S2 Part 36 - Revelation

You were spotted heading towards Shinso's hospital room by none other than his lovely mother.

She was a quiet, warm lady but also didn't take anyone's crap. You pictured her as the mom-type to sing while baking cinnamon rolls, but had no problem scolding you if you disrespected her. Ironically, she didn't even have to scold anyone to get what she wanted. But she never used her quirk...

😂🥰

Before you could even see Shinso, she peppered you with tiny kisses all over your face and thanked you a thousand times over. Her beautiful features were tearstained; mascara ran down her cheeks, but you had never seen anyone so happy.

"Are you okay, hon?" She asked.

"I will be," you said, "Thank you for the flowers."

Mihoko gave a bashful smile, "That's nothing. If there's anything you need, just ask. I have to make some phone calls but please," she moved aside so you had access to Hitoshi's door.

You didn't want to wait a minute longer. Thankfully, Midnight brought you a change of clothes so you didn't have to wander into his room in your hideous hospital gown. It felt so good to have real clothes on your body again!

It didn't take much to get your heart racing. As soon as you walked through the door you were met with Hitoshi's deep voice, "Hey, kitten."

You wanted to laugh and cry all at the same time. His lazy smile made your entire body warm. He was still hooked up to some IV bags keeping him hydrated, but color was returning to his face.

"Hi," you stood perfectly still, trying to get your body and your brain to agree with what to do next.

"It's okay if you want to come closer," he smirked, "I'm not gonna break."

You nodded and started power-walking, almost running, towards him.

"Hey, now. I didn't mean you should try to break me."

"Shut up," you reached his bed and grabbed his face with both of your hands. You kissed him so roughly that you even startled yourself.

After your abrupt attack you leaned your face away just in case you were hurting him or something. Shinso's warm breath came out shakily and the look in his eye told you that you weren't done.

He pulled you in closer until you were side-saddling the bed, and he secured you to his body by holding the back of your head and cradling the rest of you with his arm, while awkwardly avoiding pulling on his tubes. For a man on bed rest he seemed to have plenty of stamina.

The kisses started off aggressive and hungry, like you needed to do something else to express to each other physically, but couldn't yet. So, there was a lot of hair pulling and frustrated lip biting. Your tongues moved together just as roughly, like you were fighting for dominance in your mouths. But after the rage kissing came the slow, sultry euphoric kissing that made an embarrassing moan leave your lips.

Shinso chuckled, "That's a cute sound..."

You quickly retreated and buried your face into his chest, "Don't make fun!"

"I was being serious."

You both took a moment to catch your breaths. The dream you had about Shinso was nothing in comparison to the real thing. You didn't realize just how much you missed being held by him.

"Speaking of serious," you raised your head again, "How are you doing?"

Shinso's chest raised you upwards before sinking back down, "I don't know. I'm happy right now. If I think too much about what happened I can still feel..." still keeping you close, he slid his fingers along his arm where the wire Valentini used used to be, "What about you?"

"I'll be fine," you smiled through your lie, "Were you scared?"

"Yeah. I was," he admitted, "It'll sound cheesy, but I kept thinking about you. And when you showed up I wasn't sure if you were real or if I'd gone crazy."

"... I'm so sorry for what happened," You said.

Shinso sighed, "(Y/N)..."

"They knew you were close to me and you got hurt. You could've..." you stopped yourself, knowing full well you both knew how close he was to death.

"Don't think like that."

You gripped his shirt, "Tell me it isn't true, Hitoshi. You can't."

He glared into your eyes and kissed you again, just once, "That kind of thinking separated us in the first place. I'm not letting that happen again."

"I want to believe you," you smiled, "But I don't think my drama is over yet..."

It would be so easy to unload right now. Talking to Shinso always came so naturally. But even though you had a rough past few days, you imagined Shinso's had to have been worse. You didn't want to put more on his plate or bombard him with your problems.

Shinso played with the loose hair in your face and tucked it behind your ear, "Are you staying overnight?"

"Maybe. Your dad said something about my quirk acting funny. Even Aizawa suggested staying until tomorrow. I think that's to give the reporters outside time to settle down..."

"Stay. I'll come see you around dinner."

You giggled, "Are we allowed."

"I know a guy," he said with a grin, "I want to hear everything, but my mom isn't going to leave my side all day."

"Thats understandable," you said, "I wouldn't leave you alone ever again! I'm pretty sure I'll be in the same boat with Midnight."

"You don't sound excited."

"Right now, I just want to be happy that you're here."

He was quiet, thinking, and his eyes traced the outline of your face, "You saved me, you know."

You did know. But did he know what you did? He was stuck inside the marble during that bit.

"If we want to be specific," you winced, "I think The League of Villains saved you."

He grumbled, "I like my version better."

The two of you laughed and you enjoyed being in his arms just a little bit longer. Eventually his mom returned and you let her have her son back. It was strange but you weren't as afraid to face what had to happen next.

"You can stay and visit with us, (Y/N)," Mihoko said.

"Thank you. I would but I have some unfinished business first."

She nodded knowingly but Shinso seemed curious. So, maybe he hasn't heard yet? You hadn't even thought how he would feel about it.

When you returned to your room, Midnight and Aizawa were waiting there along with True Man and the chief of police. Deja vu.

The tone of the conversation wasn't too concerning, as in, you weren't going to be going to prison. But since you were old enough to be accountable for illegal quirk usage they had to discuss that all over again. Aizawa looked irritated as if he were itching to use his scarf to strangle you.

"Here we are again, hm?" The chief said, "We've been trying to get who was responsible for those murders, Valentini, for years. He was a vile man and his death will be a relief to many, even to those on my force. I hear you want to take responsibility?"

"Yes, sir." You said.

"You know it's ruled as self defense? Even the use of your quirk isn't damning in this case."

"Oh," your brow furrowed, "Am I not in trouble?"

"Fat chance," Aizawa said, making you cringe.

"Not with the law," the chief shrugged, "Your case will be over in seconds. Especially, with Hawks and Nighteye backing you up. Situationally, it couldn't look better as you were already kidnapped for over twenty four hours and Valentini was a wanted murderer. The issues you'll be facing will be the public. And with All Might gone...

We're giving the credit to Hawks."

You looked at all of their faces trying to decide if you heard right, "Wait, what? Why? I said-"

"With hero society hanging on by a thread it's not the right time to share that our students are killing villains," he explained, "All Might's retirement has already started a ripple of fear and uneasiness. Stain was the first to have everyone questioning our system and now we have villain gangs fighting for power and a social reform."

"Oh... I just wanted to do the right thing," You said. You were so busy thinking about Shinso, you forgot All Might wasn't going to be working anymore.

The chief sighed, "We're all aware of your integrity, and from someone so young I am impressed. But this is a delicate situation and we're looking at not only to keep the peace but your interest as well."

You opened your mouth to speak, but Aizawa cut you off, "You want punishment, I have some for you."

Yikes.

"Yes..." the chief looked at your teacher with a hint of humor, "Eraser Head, principal Nezu and I have had a discussion about how to handle this situation."

Suddenly, you remembered who your teacher was and what he was notorious for. He's going to expel me isn't he?!

"Academic probation," Aizawa said, "It'll put you behind in preparation for your provisional license next semester, but you can make up for it with extra training. You already have a volunteer willing to train with you from Nighteye's agency. I'm also requiring therapy during those weeks of absence."

"Weeks?!" You gasped.

Aizawa glared, "Is there a problem, (Y/N)?"

You dropped your head. That was honestly the least of your concerns when first entering this conversation, "No, sir..."

The Chief said he had work to do and had to leave, True Man also but he insisted the two of you meet again to discuss information you could have on Shigaraki.

Overall, it was a bit anticlimactic, and while you were relieved, that same annoyance from last time wasn't sitting well with you. They did the exact same thing when you and your friends combated Stain. Was it really to protect you or themselves? Or both.

Midnight still hadn't said much but she sat next to you when you used your hospital bed as a chair. Aizawa knelt in front of you, still looking pissed off with his dry eyes burning holes into your skull.

"I want you to know, I'm not punishing you for defending yourself. Or for rescuing Shinso."

"Then..." you waited.

"It's because you surrendered yourself to the villains back at the camp," he said, "I understand where your heart was but next time, you are to fight like hell - is that understood?"

"But you were going to be burned alive!" You said.

"It doesn't matter what happens to me. Just my students," his shoulders relaxed, "Having three of my students kidnapped is eye opening to our security and my ability to protect you... which is why we will also be providing on campus housing. Midnight has already agreed that you should move in with your classmates as soon as possible."

"You've already built dorms?" You looked to your aunt , "Is that really okay?"

Midnight nodded, "I haven't always been able to keep you protected, even in my home. And with... Butcher... making a move, I want you to be as safe as possible."

You heard the pain in her voice mentioning your father. How could you be mad at her for hiding anything? You wanted to be but it was difficult especially when it was clear how guilty she felt over it.

Aizawa took the hint, "I'll be here tomorrow with an escort team." He put his hand on your shoulder, "Don't do anything stupid in the meantime."

When he left the room you turned to Midnight and asked, "Escort?"

She nodded, "We want to get you all to the dorms safely. We don't know what the villains are planning, if anything, and there are a few reporters doing their best to get any dirt they can. Welcome to the fun world of avoiding the paparazzi."

"Damn," you scoffed, "Guess I'm really cool now..."

"(Y/N)," Midnight began, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about your father. He escaped but he never showed himself all these years... I just thought you would be happier not knowing. But I keep making the mistake that withholding information benefits you..."

"I was kind of upset... but I've never raised a kid before so, maybe I don't know what it's like. I just thought after everything you would've said something," you said, "I didn't expect Monarch to hold out either."

"That surprised me as well," Midnight crossed her legs, "I expected it to be the first thing to pop out of that insect's mouth."

The room was pleasantly quiet with only the faint sounds of nurses taking outside. It also made your breathing that much more noticeable, "There's more to it. I can tell," you said.

Midnight's eyes were sad but she still smiled, "Yes. You've grown to be so clever. You know, I wasn't that much older than you when I adopted you."

"T-that's so young!" You said, "How?!"

"How did I raise a child? It wasn't easy but it was an easy decision. Between myself, Aizawa, and All Might, I couldn't leave you in the hands of anyone else."

"Can you tell me everything now? I could do without anymore surprises," you gave her a lopsided smile.

She scoot closer to you on the bed until she could wrap her arm over your shoulders, "Of course."

Before she could start, a tall, devilish character entered the room, "I'd love to hear this bit too, darling."

Monarch adjusted his high collared jacket and puffed out his chest before sitting on the other side of you. Midnight twitched, but probably figured she couldn't do much about him.

"Fine," she cleared her throat, "I would like to wait for All Might to be present, but maybe you can reach out to him later?"

"Why All Might?" You asked.

"Well... It's about the day we found you. All Might was the only one powerful enough to go up against Butcher, even then, we brought myself and Aizawa in case things went south. We found his location and the battle was, expectedly, destructive. We didn't know Hellia had a child.

One of the attacks that knocked All Might and Butcher into a building partially collapsed. It crushed Hellia... You were so small but she managed to save you from the worst of it. I heard you crying and found you both. I saw your eyes and I knew you were his..."

Midnight paused, "But Hellia wasn't dead yet. You were struggling to breathe, and she used the rest of her life force to spare you. I didn't understand it at first exactly how she made the sacrifice but she knew your quirk was similar to Butcher's."

"My mom?" You were starring blankly at the floor, "So... I killed her."

"No! She was going, baby," Midnight said, "She just wanted to make sure you made it. And it worked. The woman might've had a reputation for her bad deeds, but looking out for you wasn't one of them. Her death was a careless accident that we are responsible for.

All Might was sick with guilt for a long time, and he didn't want to leave you to just anyone, but he also didn't think he could be a good parent to you. Aizawa was still so young, but he agreed with your quirk you needed special supervision. So, I took you. No one else knew about you yet - except Monarch - so we didn't share your lineage with anyone in hopes you could have a life without your parents's past pulling you down."

After a minute with the three of you sitting in silence, you finally raised your head, "Is that all of it?"

"That's all of it," Midnight said. Her eyes wavered with insecurity. You could sense her fear waiting for your judgement.

Monarch hummed softly, "That sounds like my Hayami..."

"Did you know that story?" You asked him.

"Not all of it," Monarch's luscious lashes batted at Midnight, "I'm glad I heard it now, though."

"Me too," you nodded, "Thank you for trusting me..."

Midnight hesitated and you could tell she wanted to hug you. You smirked and leaned into you as an offering. She sniffled and kissed the top of you head. Monarch joined the love-fest and wrapped his long arms around both of you.

"Isn't this precious!" He wiggled excitedly.

Midnight didn't even complain. You still didn't know how to feel, but you felt like you had the clarity you needed. Regardless, if it was wrong to lie to you for so long, you could feel the love Midnight had for you. When you examined your situation, you couldn't help but laugh. You had such a peculiar, not cookie-cutter family here between Monarch and Midnight, but they were yours.

You relaxed, and allowed yourself to get swallowed up in the lovey, M&M sandwich. This moment wouldn't last forever. You all knew that now that Butcher made it clear he was coming now.

"I didn't get to see who it was, but I heard him say the name Overhaul."

Shinso addressed the chief and True Man from his hospital bed. He requested being alone so his mom didn't have to listen to the gory details from his mouth. But he agreed to let Aizawa stand in for her to give her peace of mind. His teacher leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.

"I hate to ask, especially so soon," True Man said, "Did you see any of Valentini's other victims? We found the photographs amongst other things..."

Shinso's expression didn't change but his eyes darkened. Aizawa waited patiently for his answer, feeling more uneasy by the second.

"No," he said, and Aizawa relaxed, "But I did hear them."

Aizawa's shoulders stiffened back up.

"I heard them, mostly girls, when he tore them apart," Shinso muttered, "And what he used to hurt them. I haven't heard anyone scream like that before."

The room dropped a few degrees. Aizawa looked to the authorities, hoping their questioning was over.

"Thank you, son," The chief bowed his head at Shinso, "If we need anymore information we will contact you, but please take your time recovering. You've all been through more than young people should."

"Thank you, sir," Shinso said.

The chief of police was wrapping things up and made his last rounds around the hospital. He said goodbye again and nodded to Aizawa. True Man had a forlorn look on his face, but held his tongue and exited with the chief. Aizawa lingered with a nagging feeling in his chest.

"Shinso," he said.

The messy-haired student slowly raised his eyes to his teacher, "Yes, sir?"

"... Come see me when this is all over? Your parents have agreed to therapy once you're recovered. I would give you the choice but I'm making it mandatory before returning to my class."

"I understand."

"Good. Glad to have you back." Aizawa glowered at nothing as he left the room. Once he was a safe distance from onlookers, he punched a wall, making his knuckles bleed.

"Fuck..."
