"How..." you staggered back
Grim's eyes slowly gazed back at you. The resemblance was almost sickening. Monarch always raved about how you looked like your mother, but even you could see the characteristics Grim passed down to you.
All you could envision were the old news videos of Butcher and his massive arms crushing the life out of heroes. Your stomach was in knots.
"Want to hear my theory?" All For One said,
"Kings have their era - their prime! But then we must surrender the crown to the younger and more able. Tomura is my champion. And your long lost father, and potentially the only man to usurp my thrown of the underworld, is choosing his. Aren't you?"
Grim said nothing while you continued to stare at him in disbelief.
"Is that why you tried to take me..? You thought I'd be just like you?" You couldn't believe you were exchanging words with the guy - your corrupted flesh and blood.
"You don't know anything," Grim said flatly.
"Yes, well... everyone likes leaving out the details," you scoffed, "And I've decided that I don't need to know. I don't want anything to do with you, or you," you pointed to All For One, "or your League!"
"Woooo," Twice laughed, "She's gettin mad. "
"I am calm!" You clearly weren't, "In fact, I'm peachy."
Your voice changed suddenly into something unpleasant. It was happening again. Your own red aura matched Grim's, albeit a little less menacing.
Bakugo fearlessly clasped your wrist, "(Y/N), we have to go!"
"So soon!" All For One laughed, "But we're just getting to the good part!"
He retracted the black appendages caught by Grim, and readied another attack. This time, you were ready. You shoved Bakugo out of the way and leapt up to meet All For One face to face.
You uppercut his arm so the tendrils missed you. It was effective but didn't create the impact you were hoping for. His arm felt like punching a boulder, even at your best. The two of you were at a stalemate in strength, but your instincts were telling you he had more up his sleeve.
You heard multiple voices calling for you to stop. Even the voice in your head warned you to stay away from this man. Luckily, what Grim told you had been correct; letting your energy run continuously, like a car, instead of on and off was working. You weren't breaking your bones anymore, even if the pressure built up inside made you feel like a balloon with too much air.
It was the most surreal surge of power, and yet, All For One had no trouble stopping you.
"You're going to take me on, (Y/N)?" He asked, as if he were asking a small child which ice cream flavor they wanted, "How adorable."
He crushed the arm you were using to push him back with a deadly grip, making you yelp, "Even your father didn't attempt to attack me until he had a few lives under his belt! But, you're no use to my protégée dead. So, why don't you go back to Tomura now and behave."
He hardly moved or seemed to do much of anything, but an invisible force blew your hair back and then the rest of your body. You were hurled through the air as if you were nothing but a small insect in his way.
"(Y/N)!" All Might returned just in time to catch you before you hit the ground.

His feet slid back as he slowed you both into a stop. You looked up at the ever-smiling hero, and mentor, "All Might..."
He didn't show it in his face, but you could feel it - something was wrong with him. His muscles were shaking like he was straining himself.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Fine," you just had to reassure him so he could focus on the fight at hand, "I'm sorry I attacked him, I-"
"Don't worry about that now," All Might said, "You and Bakugo stick together until I deal with these villains!"
"Butcher..." All For One addressed Grim, "We have our differences. But there is something we agree on - a common goal in the shape of a blond, annoying, justice-seeking brute?"
Grim's half-masked face was more terrifying than when he had the entire skull. You watched as he and All For One leered in your direction. All Might grimaced and gently set you down on your feet.
"All Might," you didn't know how to address your concerns without sounding discouraging, but your quirk could sense his energy was suffering. How was he supposed to fight both All For One and Butcher?
"Fear not," he winked, "They shall not be victorious."
"Filling your students with such hope, All Might," All For One taunted, "Let's just see how loyal your younglings are."
The black tendrils came towards you both from two directions this time. There were too many to deflect at once. All Might made to shield you from them, but ultimately you were both pierced.
You felt the impact, similar to a knife digging into your flesh, but it didn't have the same burning sensation as actually being stabbed. The force pushed you and All Might closer together.
"Forced quirk activation," All For One announced proudly, "A cruel twist to have your student be your demise."
Forced what?!
Before you knew it, you began draining the life out of All Might.
Your eyes widened in horror. He was doubling over in pain and his trembling limbs were becoming worse. You tried pulling yourself away as to not touch him, but it was impossible.
"Stop!" You yelled at All For One and to yourself, "Please, stop!"
All Might's face was thinning. His muscles were deflating. You were forced to watch him slowly become more and more skeletal. What was happening to his body?!
"We've have had so many reveals tonight," All For One said, "It's about time we unveil your little secret, All Might. First to go will be your self-respect and ridiculous public image. Show the world how pathetic you really are, Symbol of Peace."
You thought desperately of a plan - maybe call Bakugo over to explode you and All Might apart. He seemed to have a similar idea because you heard him behind you setting off his quirk, but the blasts never touched you.
"You have to punch me or something, All Might!" You said, "I can't stop it!"
All Might was about to respond but instead coughed up blood. His energy was so faint, like a flickering flame or embers leftover in the coals. You on the other hand felt like your blood was made of molten lava. If you took anymore of All Might's life force, both of you were toast.
"No..." you thrashed your head back but your body was under All For One's control.
I'm going to be the reason All Might fails...
Wait!
All For One could force you to use your quirk. But he didn't know everything about your quirk - at least, that's what you were counting on. You could take from others, but that's not all you were anymore.

You concentrated on switching gears. Could you trick All For One's quirk by using your "link" ability? It had to happen - and fast! All Might was looking more and more like a corpse. If you could get All For One to force you to give energy instead...
Come on... come on! Just do this one last thing and help All Might!
"What are you-" All Might jolted suddenly.
The overflowing power your body consumed was finally releasing and channeling itself to a much weaker host. The tiny flame inside of All Might became doused in lighter fluid. Your eyes shot up and you delivered All Might your best, heroic smile.

"What are we going to do, Midoriya?" Shoto asked, "We need to get them out of there, now."
"I'm thinking!" Izuku said.
Shoto clenched his fists, "What was she thinking, attacking that guy..."
The two of them huddled together outside the broken building observing the pending battle between the villains and All Might. They were accompanied by Iida, Momo, and Kirishima.
"This is bad guys," Kirishima said, "Why does All Might look like that?"
Izuku gulped.
"All Might is probably afraid to hurt her," Momo whimpered, "That's why he hasn't pried her off yet..."
"Hang on, what's happening now?" Iida pointed out.
Izuku peered around the crack in the wall that Iida was looking through, "Of course! Iida, remember (Y/N) gave you that boost during our exam with class 1B. I think she was able to switch which ability she's being forced to use!"
Just seconds ago, All Might looked near death. Although, Izuku was already aware of his secret image and second life as the "skinnier" All Might. But now it seemed as if his muscles were inflating again. His sunken eyes were bright and his grin was less forced.
"I hope you're right!" Iida said, "Okay... what's this plan of yours?"
"Well, considering the state (Y/N) is in, or will be in, this will rely heavily on Kacchan. And you, Kirishima."
"Me?" He asked.
"If I call out to him, I don't think he'll cooperate. But if he hears you, his friend, he might. He's probably figured it out by now that as long as he and (Y/N) are there, All Might can't fight as well. He'll be looking for an escape and... I'm positive he won't leave (Y/N) behind."
"It'll be difficult to extract them both," Iida said, "Without using our quirks to fight..."
"We'll use them to get them out - but not to fight," Izuku smiled, "We just need the perfect window."
"You idiot," Bakugo said under his breath as he watched you and All Might being bested by the villains. He readied an explosion to break the hold All For One had on you but he was stopped by Compress.
Bakugo dodged the magician by diving to the left and blowing up Compress's right side. The villain flew backwards with his trench coat covered in black burn marks. Toga jumped on him next, while Twice pulled out a long tape measure as if to capture him with. The League wasn't going to let him interrupt their leader.
"Dammit," he grumbled. He might have to break the rules and start causing some real damage.
He used the impact of his own explosions to jump out of reach of the villains, but he didn't want to create too much distance away from you. He wasn't sure what was happening to All Might, but his form shrunk from his usual muscular physique. It terrified Bakugo seeing his role model in such a vulnerable position, but he had to believe in him until the end.
"Master - what's happening!" Tomura shouted.
Bakugo turned to see what had Shigaraki so distressed. All For One stopped his attack and the triumphant voice of the number one hero sounded like a war horn, "A cruel trick indeed, All For One, but you shouldn't underestimate these young heroes!"
Bakugo grinned, "Now we're talkin..." his gaze trailed to you who finally let go of All Might. You had a smile on your face and stood proudly next to him. But that didn't fool Bakugo. He could see the color draining from your cheeks.
"Oh. I'm rarely surprised - how thrilling," All For One said.
All Might charged at both All For One and Butcher with a new gusto. It gave Bakugo plenty of room to reach you. You looked like you had been through hell and he tried his best not to notice how high the jacket you had on went.
Where the hell are her clothes?!
"Hey!" Bakugo growled, "You have a death wish or something! You should've told me you were going to fight," Although, secretly he was impressed.
You stared blankly at him in response.
"Hey..." he sounded less pissed, "What are you-"
Bakugo lunged forward and caught your collapsing body. You were in really bad shape. Your breathing was shallow. When he felt your forehead with his palm it was burning hot, but the rest of you was cold and clammy.
"Fuck..." he grunted, "Hey. Hey! We're almost out of this - you can't give up on me yet!"
He supported your head and neck in the crook of his arm. You were limp and practically lifeless. Bakugo quickly looked up and around for some hope of escape. Now that he had to carry you this would be twice as difficult.
"Claim your prize, Shigaraki," Compress dusted off his jacket, "We should make quick work of this and leave with the girl while we can."
"Like hell," Bakugo readied his spare hand to cause some destruction, "Just try it!"
He scanned the villains that were still conscious or on the better end of injured. You were still outnumbered, but Bakugo would make any of them bleed before they touched you again.
He hated to admit it, but he wasn't so confident he could do this on his own...
Just then, a chill brushed the back of Bakugo's neck. Time slowed as he looked over his shoulder to see a mountain of ice forming and reaching its way to the stars. If that wasn't random enough, he also spotted a cluster of people together in bizarre formation to create a human rocket of sorts racing up to the top.
"COME ON!"
Bakugo's eyes grew wide. He heard Kirishima's voice calling out to him. As he looked closer he could see the faces of he, Iida, and that damn nerd, Deku. Iida was propelling everyone forward with his jets and Kirishima had his arm outstretched. Bakugo knew this was the window he was waiting for.
"I know you're tired, but I need you to hold onto me as tight as you can," he said to you, "Don't you dare think of letting go."
He helped you wrap your legs around his torso and your arms around his neck. In order for him to reach Kirishima he would need both hands to blast you two through the air. He was counting on the force from shooting upwards to keep you pressed against his body, but he was nervous with how weak you were.
This is it...
Bakugo's explosive cry rang through the broken city. He normally had to have his hand canons to create this level of intensity so his arms hurt like hell, but he had you to worry about and it numbed the pain.
His three peers were getting closer in range as you and Bakugo flew through the sky. With a strong grip, he snatched Kirishima's hand and grinned madly, "You idiots!"
Just below, the villains were scrambling with what to do next.
"Who has range?" Magne asked.
With sore-ego and bruised ribs, Dabi came forward and glared up at the pillar of ice, "That would be me..."
"Shigaraki?" Compress inquired, "We're going after them, yes?"
Tomura's gaze burned when he spotted the green-haired student. You and Bakugo were nearly out of reach. His plan failed - again. He lost you. Again!
His fists relaxed as defeat settled in. It already felt like a lifetime until he would see you again.
"Let them go..." Tomura said, "We're leaving as soon as we finish All Might."
Compress tilted his head to the side, "Are you sure?"
"What?" Toga cried, "But I wanted to hang out with her some more!"
No one seemed impressed by the idea of retreating, especially Dabi, who took one look at Tomura before aiming up at the students, "Fuck that!"
He manifested an elemental pillar of his own made from his blue flames that melted the ice, but it went no further. Dabi suddenly felt sleepy and seconds later toppled over into some rubble.
Toga quickly shielded her face, but it was too late. A pink mist contaminated the area and knocked out several more League members.
"It's time to put you ruffians in your place," the sound of a whip cracking made Tomura jump. Strutting through the sleeping spell was Midnight, and though her voice remained sultry, her eyes revealed nothing but loathing.
"You're going to keep you paws off my little girl, now," She licked her lips, "Say goodnight!"
From behind her, Endeavor, Edgeshot, Gran Torino, and several others appeared. A new hope dawned like the sun rising over the battlefield.

The Fracture
It was a normal day for the inhabitants of ERT-5901, more commonly known by the populace as Earth. A beautiful planet with lush resources and fertile land, well at one point anyways. Children were born, the elderly died, and Man was as corrupt as ever. But hey, what can you do about that? Can’t change human nature… But that's not the point. Basically the planet was peaceful, for the most part. Certainly they were better off than the species on FTL-3470… We don’t talk about them. Better to leave that book unopened. Anyways, that was all until January 5th of the year 2025. When the sky broke. Fractured. Stunning ocean blue cracks were spotted in the sky all over the planet. A spiders web of cracks and crevices littered the blue skies, tearing all that global peace to shreds. All while Wyatt Walker, a sad example of a human being, was black out drunk in a bar somewhere in LA. This is a post-apocalyptic, portal isekai, high fantasy kind of story set on our very own green Earth! The world has fractured, broken. The inhabitants of ERT-5901 are in for quite the quick and dramatic change in their way of life. Murder, theft, and death have become the norm. Survival of the fittest to the extreme. If you can’t keep up, then good luck playing the game. Hello, Kaiser here! I am the author of this lovely story and I would just like to put a few disclaimers down here. First, English is, in fact, my first language. This by no means I will have perfect grammar and there are bound to be spelling mistakes (please forgive me) and places where I accidentally put plot holes. If you find anything, I would appreciate it if you could let me know so I can fix / change it. I also welcome any constructive criticism or opinions you might have about the story (doesn’t always mean I will change something). Second, I am by no means a professional writer here. Just a confused student who wanted to write something. So, uh, here's my story? Third, if you can’t handle any of the following I recommend you find a different story as I will by no means change any of these topics. [Gore, Profanity, Twisted themes, Dark scenes, and Death] If you’re a sensitive person or a queasy person I would highly recommend a different story. Fourth, I would like to write with freedom so I will by no means be lenient with my writing. I intend to write without mercy. Characters will die, bad things will happen, blood will be spilled, and humans will continue to be humans. I would like to write things as realistically as possible while still having that dash of fantasy. Not everything will be all dark and gloom, there will be happy and funny moments mixed! (Hopefully, not a lot of edge) Enjoy! ッ

Tales of Light
These are a collection of short stories following different narratives. It's more like a playground and experimenting with ideas or subjects I don't want to write a complete story about. It's also a place to test my skills as a writer. Think of it as a notebook of un/finished ideas. Feel free to pick and choose which chapters to read. They aren't related unless specifically said otherwise. Just relax, enjoy, and cringe at goofy stories. There may be a timeline of events, or not... who knows?
