《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》S2 Part 33 - The Fallen Kings

😂

You continued to cough up the rest of the fowl gunk from your mouth until it finally stopped. The sound of others also struggling to breathe made you look up.

"Oh gods..." you made a slow panorama of the scene, "Ughhhh!!!"

Not again!

Whatever that gray stuff was, it acted as a warp and took you to a devastating scene. You were in the middle of town in a building that had already been destroyed and almost completely blown away - only chunks of wall remained standing. Surrounding buildings had also collapsed. Who knew how many people were crushed under all the rubble.

You gasped at the sight of the massive Mt. Lady passed out on the ground like a sleeping giant. This was what that officer was talking about. You had been brought to the Kamino Ward...

The entire League of Villains was also present. All of them appeared in the same manner you had. And Bakugo! You spotted the angry blond standing next to an ominous, floating figure of a person you hadn't seen before.

Bakugo was free from any shackles he had previously. Maybe together you could escape for good! But the man hovering beside him gave you a bad feeling in your guts.

You felt someone's hand brush your shoulder and you swat it away, instantly.

"It's just me," you heard Tomura's raspy voice say.

"Just you..." you laughed, not because it was funny, but you were so tired that anything felt laughable, "Just you! Why did you bring me here!"

You smacked him again, but he quickly caught the next attack and held onto your wrists tightly. Once Hawks came and Shinso was safe, you were ready for this to be over. But you were still having to fight. Still in the villain's clutches - no matter your many attempts.

Tomura pulled you into him while you continued lashing out. It wasn't like you were trying very hard, but you were still scared to turn your quirk on again after last time. You were hardly standing as it is. It wasn't that your quirk was exhausted - you were exhausted. Physically, mentally, spiritually and whatever other mortal weakness you could experience.

"Let me go, Tomura..." you muttered. You meant go in every sense of the word. Maybe you weren't hero material, but you weren't villainous either. You had no future with the League - only one of an endless struggle. "I told you if anything happened to Shinso that I wouldn't forgive you. You saved us... so, I will. I do. But we are not friends. Now... Let me go."

His hold on you wavered, and you thought he actually would, but no such luck, "I can't."

You groaned into his chest, "Then I hate you. I'll hate you forever..."

You activated your quirk and sent Tomura flying into Compress, who knocked Spinner over. Immediately, the pain was back in your body. Your bones felt like they were splintering.

"Dammit!" You switched it off again, but the energy you carried was difficult to ignore now. For having such a strong quirk it sure enjoyed being inconvenient.

"Cool it, cupcake. Don't hurt yourself."

You turned sharply to see your blue-burning friend again, "Ohhh, you stay the fuck away!"

Dabi smirked at your response, but it faded rather quickly when he studied your attire - or lack there of. You backed away from him and threatened another powerful attack. He planted his feet but didn't conjure any of his fire.

"Why don't you stay with us, (Y/N)? I'll miss you if you leave!"

Behind you came the sound of your own voice. You gazed in horror at your face on another person's body.

"You'll make the boys so sad too!" Toga whined, and she pulled her knife from her skirt. She was dressed rather skimpy in an illusion of your body, but you couldn't judge in your current fashion statement.

"Who needs her! !" Twice joined Toga's side. He had found a replacement mask and was back to his normal selves. "We're friends now, aren't we?"

Tomura, Compress, and Spinner had all composed themselves and Magne took a spot next to Dabi. The longer you stood there the quicker you were getting surrounded. You were shocked to find Grim, who suffocated you earlier, in their ranks once more.

I guess no one except me saw his little stunt.

You covered your ears with your hands as if that would help. Hearing them was messing with your head. You knew it was a show of weakness if a villain could break your spirits, but you didn't care about appearing strong anymore. You were just going to fight like hell until you were rescued, kidnapped, or worse.

One last "hoorah."

"The girl is overwhelmed, Shigaraki," Compress said, "It should have been curtains hours ago."

"Not surprising. I think it's time to put her back to sleep," Tomura waved his fingers lazily as an order.

Compress tugged on his glove like he was ready to give you a doctor checkup, and Dabi closed in from the opposite direction. You couldn't let Compress lay a finger on you or your last hope of escape was gone.

What hope?

You were outnumbered against a variety of quirks. But you did have Bakugo - who finally turned to look at you. His gaze was one mixed with fear and rage - but possibly something a little sweet too.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" He stomped towards you, but not ignoring the villains around you.

You blew a raspberry with your lips, "I wanted to have a picnic and watch the sunrise - THE BLOODY HELL does it look like, Katsuki?!"

He grimaced, "I thought you got away so, what the fu-"

"Children," a sickly smooth voice entered your conversation. Bakugo's glare deepened. You looked just above Bakugo's head at the hovering man in a business suit. He was almost totally normal looking except that he wore a mask similar to Darth Vader. "We can all have our happy reunions - after I deal with a little pest problem."

You sighed, not ready to deal with any more villains today. But you couldn't let your guard down. Compress and Dabi were still coming and you didn't exactly have the best escape routes.

Bakugo leapt into the circle and caused an explosion to deflect Compress. He looked like he had been itching to battle all night. His knuckles cracked and he crouched with his hands out like weapons.

"What's wrong with you," he asked you in a hushed tone, "You're looking like Deku before he breaks his arms."

"It's a lot to explain," you said.

"Well get ready! I'm done being held captive by these weaklings. And I'll be damned if you don't get outa here for good this time!"

You grinned, even if the odds looked pretty depressing, it was nice having company, "I'm ready."

Everyone suddenly stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to the skies. You followed their eyes and saw the brightness of a gigantic smile soaring towards you like a shooting star.

All Might!

"I'll have you return my students, All For One!" The number one hero launched himself at full force at the man in the suit and tie.

... what kind of villain name is that?

"Come to save the day, All Might? So heroic. But I'm afraid it might be too late." The man, or, All For One, said.

You were expecting a satisfying victory and for All Might to cream this guy with one punch, but your mouth fell open when the villain was able to counter the attack.

"All Might!" Bakugo sounded just as shocked.

"Don't worry," All For One lowered himself to ground level, "It'll take more than that to stop the great hero."

All Might was blasted by a powerful force and thrown back into the sky. All For One's arm recoiled like he'd fired a shotgun.

He was able to stop All Might so easily..?! If the symbol of peace couldn't stop this guy, just what were you up against? You almost shit yourself when All For One turned his focus on you.

"Has my protege been unkind to you?" He asked with a weird air of condescension, "Tomura has done nothing but obsess over you for months but it seems you two still aren't getting along."

Bakugo growled, some popping sounds came from his swearing palms. You just did your best to not faint.

"I, for one, am delighted to finally meet you," he continued, "It's not everyday you get to meet your extended family."

You and Bakugo weren't the only ones who went silent. Even Spinner looked a bit horrified, and muttered, "Are we in the middle of a soap opera..?"

"The hell is he on about," Bakugo asked you, but you couldn't reply.

"There's no reason for you to know me," All For One explained, "You hardly know your own parents."

"Who are you then..." you said.

"Technically speaking, I guess I could be no one. But, I consider you a granddaughter to me." He placed a hand on his chest.

"Master?" Tomura blurted.

All For One shrugged, "Similarly to how I consider Tomura an adopted son. Your quirk is a descendent of mine that I gave to your father years ago."

"You..." but your voice was too weak.

"You've been without answers for so long," his tone was warm but all you felt was malice, "Why don't I give you a little history lesson before our time is spent."

All Might appeared again, this time landing a blow to All For One's stomach. This time, he got sent flying into a piece of broken wall.

"Hang on, Bakugo. (Y/N). Everything will be fine, now!"

"I don't think so," All For One chuckled, "Because I am here."

You watched the man's fingers extended into black tendrils with red, cracked lines. They became so long that they could reach All Might. They roughly wound around his calves and dragged him to the ground before being launched back into space.

"We have to help him," you said.

"We'll only get in the way," Bakugo grunted, "He can't go all out with us close by."

"So we just leave him?" You asked.

Bakugo watched them continuing their fight with hesitation in his eyes, "He's the best there is. We can help him by getting out of here."

All Might landed some promising blows, but you were forced to return your attention to the other villains. Spinner made a move, not using his weapons, but his combat was swift. Bakugo didn't want to waste more time and simply exploded him away.

"Compress!" Spinner wailed, "I'm getting barbecued over here!"

"Don't let the magician touch you," Bakugo ordered as he warded more of the villains away with larger blasts, "You can fight, right?"

"Yes," you sort of lied. You would fight.

Toga, who still looked like you, came galloping over with her knife ready. You bent your body in half to avoid a stab to the abdomen and continued falling back until you fell on your hands. She was intrigued by your exposed position but didn't expect you to propel yourself back up and jab.

"Oh no! My nose," Toga's mirage started falling off in chunks, until you could see bits of her own face again.

Dabi scoffed and nudged the injured Toga out of the way, "Nice jacket."

"Jealous?" You were feeling extra and gave him the middle finger. It was stupid but you were extra counting on him not trying to kill you.

His blue eyes flickered as he aimed a powerful fire attack at Bakugo. Before the flames left his fingers, you risked your quirk and gut-punched him back. His ribs caved around your fist and you knew this would keep him at bay for a while.

Dabi rolled into the distance with a dazed look in his eyes while your hand felt like it was smashed by a hammer. You cradled it to your chest. At this rate, how many more attacks could you withstand?

Bakugo continued to keep Compress busy, but your next opponent looked like Grim. You winced at the phantom pain you knew you were about to experience.

"You need to expel the energy," he said in his gruff tone.

He stopped a few feet from with not even a fist raised to harm you.

"I... what?" You said.

"Your body isn't used to having that much energy at once," Grim said, "You'll implode. You must expel it."

"How do you..." you got sidetracked by the word implode, "I can't! Using it at all is killing me."

"It won't," he insisted, "You have to use more at once. Stop treating it like a bandaid to rip off. Disperse it to more than one body part."

"Why are you helping me?" You asked.

"Just do as I say."

"Okay... we'll try your plan. And hopefully I don't die," you scoffed.

Oddly enough, it seemed like Grim was on your side. Anyone who got close he took pleasure in pounding or kicking them with impressive force that could challenge All Might's. You were confused but couldn't question it like you wanted, not without losing focus of the oncoming villains.

"What the hell!" Shigaraki glared with resounding hatred, "There's no way you were a hero this whole time!"

"You would be right, Tomura," All For One interjected. His nice suit was ripped apart now, but he had gotten the upper hand on All Might once more.

"What do you mean?" Shigaraki hissed.

All For One presented himself in front of you, lowering himself from his height but still keeping his feet off the ground. Neither you nor Grim moved a muscle.

"Like I said, child. Your quirk began with me. Raw power with unlimited potential. It was so hard to part with, but I felt my protege at the time was worthy."

"My father," you glowered.

"Yes! How I searched for him after he betrayed me. And then All Might destroyed my status as the great king of evil, but I found my new protege. One who understands what it is to be grateful.

Now, child of my ilk, will you use your gift for us? Or are you going to waste and squander it for the life of a hero?"

It was impossible to mask your fear, but a choice had already been made. All that was left was saying it out loud.

"No..." your voice trembled, "Quirks don't define anyone."

You allowed your quirk to activate, but this time you felt it in every cell that made your body. It made you sweat from your forehead and the pulsing and vibrations melting your brain. But you were alive.

"It's up to me to decide... and I won't choose you," you glared up at him, only just now realizing scar tissue covered the upper half of his face and he didn't have eyes. "Family isn't only determined by blood or by quirks..."

"And," you added, "No offense, but I already adopted a surprise godfather into my life. I don't need a fake grandfather with a black heart."

"How disappointing," All For One sighed, "Fortunately, you still prove to be of value to me. With your quirk mutated and improved, thanks to your mother, I will remove it from you, as a gift to Tomura. Hopefully, then, you will learn to be grateful for all that is given to you - for they can be so easily ripped away."

The black tendrils shot from his fingertips. You were too close - he had you! What did he mean he could remove your quirk?!

"Master, wait!" Tomura said.

"(Y/N)!" Bakugo roared like thunder.

You closed your eyes, and prepared for the worst. Would it hurt? What would you do without your quirk, anyway? Your journey would be over. Was that such a bad thing..?

"Ah, you finally show yourself," All For One chuckled.

You blinked, confused by the lack of pain and his sudden tangent in conversation. Standing in front of you, blocking the attack, was Grim, but not the Grim you recognized.

Half of his mask had been destroyed and fallen off. A heavy, red aura swirled around him. You could almost sense the death and dread in his power. Atop his head, once hidden beneath his mask and coat, were horns worthy of a devil.

He caught the tendrils in his meaty grasp, but not without causing some damage to himself. You could hear your heart beating. With each beat, darkness clouded your eyes.

"... Butcher," you heard Spinner say in awe.

"My greatest creation and most disappointing of all," All For One said, "What a disguise... how the mighty have fallen, wouldn't you agree? Butcher."
