《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》Part 22 - Birds of Prey

Cold metal stung the exposed flesh of your arm. You and Uraraka had found a dumpster to hide behind while you watched Tokoyami and Sero ran past. The latest incentive Momo instated must've made them desperate because these guys were not holding back.
"That was close!" Uraraka sighed, "I really thought we were going to have an easy shot at this. With people to blend in with and all."
"Our class is cut from a different, freakin' cloth," you shook your head, "Alright... we gotta keep moving. I still think our best shot is cutting through the plaza."
The two of you left your hiding spot once a crowd of pedestrians wandered by. Your eyes were constantly moving, looking for the color blue. Every time a random citizen had a blue shirt or jacket you had a mini heart attack.
"This is fun and all, but," Uraraka whispered, "So nerve-racking!"
"Totally..." you agreed. One minute you're living the high life in silk PJs, now this.
You came to stop at a crosswalk and did your best to hide behind people without disrupting them. The timer wasn't moving fast enough, though. You kept an eye out for behind you, while Uraraka checked your sides. Her hand found yours and tightly grabbed it, "We have company..."
"YOU COULD'VE AT LEAST MADE THIS CHALLENGING!"
Bakugo and Kirishima were across the way, but they had Ashido in tow. You instantly crouched, bringing Uraraka down with you. The pedestrians next to you grunted in annoyance, but let you be.
"Okay, I'm caught, you can chill out, Bakugo!" Ashido snapped.
"Aw, not Mina!" Uraraka frowned.
Could this light be any slower? You counted down the seconds, but it felt like an eternity.
As soon as the light was green, you dragged Uraraka into a full-on sprint. Stealth was good, but against a team like Bakugo and Kirishima, you needed some distance. The mall wasn't far off - a good place to hide and the best shortcut.
"HEY!" Bakugo definitely noticed.
"We got a runner!" Kirishima sounded pumped.
Uraraka was able to keep pace now. The street ahead was fairly empty so you didn't have to worry about bumping into anyone. It also gave the boys a clear shot at your location.
You both heard Bakugo's maniacal laughter closing in, "Where ya goin, (Y/N)?!"
"Quick!" You yanked Uraraka to the left down an alley to a parking garage. You hadn't been to a mall in a while, but usually, they had entrances from the parking area.
The two of you made a beeline for the elevators. Thinking fast, you opened the closest one and pressed a few buttons before leaping back out.
"Wait, why aren't we-" Uraraka began to ask.
The boys hadn't seen you yet, so you waved for Uraraka to follow you. You crouched behind one of the parked cars and waited to see if your ploy would work.
Bakugo and Kirishima came in huffing and ran straight for the elevator. The doors were already closed, and Bakugo cursed loudly, "Dammit! The stairs! Go!" He ordered Kirishima. He watched which number "you" stopped at first.
It worked. Once they were both up the first flight of stairs, you waited for their footsteps to sound far enough away. Uraraka gave you a thumbs up, "That was sneaky, (Y/N)!"
"Thanks," you grinned, "But they'll figure it out pretty soon."
You crept out from behind the car, but something stopped you in your tracks, "Wait," you told Uraraka. It still didn't seem safe. The footsteps were so faint now, but that wasn't the problem.

There was only one set of footsteps still moving.
You jumped back when Bakugo leaped out from the stairwell. "Did you think you could fool me?" There was nothing kind about his grin.
Well, shit. "Kinda," you said.
"Did you and pink-cheeks split up?" He asked. He wasn't coming at you yet, just taking one step at a time - watching you like a hawk.
Pink cheeks? Oh!
"Yep! She's long gone," you said, hoping Uraraka would keep quiet.
He scoffed, "Better hope that your training pays off... Cuz you're mine!"
Bakugo made his move. It wasn't like sparring where you could deflect him. You had to avoid his hands completely! In order to keep Uraraka's hiding spot secure, you escaped out the way you came. You'd be separated, but at least he wouldn't get you both at once!
Back on the streets, you were dodging people and taking detours to avoid traffic-induced obstacles. He was already hot on your heels. While you were feeling the strain in your legs, Bakugo sounded just fine.
It was no use, you had to find a way to stall him somehow...
Your shoes slid against the cement, trying to find the perfect grip. If this failed, you could end up looking like an idiot and horribly break your face.
Pulling your arms back and bending your legs - until you felt like a spring ready to snap - you prepared one powerful leap. Throwing yourself into a backflip.
Bakugo was taller than you, and you didn't have a wall to kick off of. The world was in slow motion as you watched for the precise moment. As you were falling back to earth, you grabbed onto his shoulders and used them to push yourself away.
"What!" He wasn't ready for it, so it took him a second to regain his footing. It was enough time for you to turn back and flee into the plaza's main entrance. Luckily, tagging him wasn't against the rules.
You were glad people were still shopping and drinking at this hour. Most were just standing around which was perfect! You slowed into a jog until you could hide within a random group.
"DAMMIT!!!"Bakugo patrolled the plaza, looking like a poked bear. It was possible he knew you were at an advantage now. Still, you snuck into the nearest department store, doing your best to look natural and not like you just ran a marathon.
Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted something yellow. Your heart gave you a jolt, recognizing your little electric pal. "Come on..." you groaned, still trying to recover. You ducked your head and power-walked through the aisles of clothes. If he was here then some of your teammates must've chosen the shortcut through the mall as well...
"Psst!" You jumped, as a trench coat reached out to grab you, "It's me!"
"Oh... Hi, Jiro," you laughed at her choice of camouflage, "What're you doing?"
"We're in trouble. They're all over this stupid place. We should've just stayed on the streets but Hagakure thought they'd be less aggressive around more civilians..."
"Where is she now?" You asked.
"Captured," her head sank, "So is Momo, Koda, and I think Tsu..."
You frowned. The boys were doing a damn good job at rounding you all up. "As far as I know, Ochaco is still good, then us two. Maybe Sato? Is that it?"
Jiro sighed, "I guess so."
"Alright," you swallowed, "If we can get to the exit on the other end of this store, it'll be a straight shot to the finish line. Well, I guess it's still about a half-mile from here..."

"The store closes in a few minutes, anyway," Jiro said, "If we're not escorted out by our friends then it'll be by security."
"Why did we agree to do this, again?" you slapped your cheeks, "Okay! Game faces..."
"Got a plan?"
"Not one that I like..."
Another day to lose all sense of pride, you thought. You located your target. He was already where Jiro was hiding earlier in the clothing. Now, you just had to get his attention.
"Kaminari!" you called.
He tilted his head, confused by the female voice seeking him out. When he turned around to see you, his expression relaxed, "Well, fancy meeting you here, (Y/N)." He hadn't noticed your trap yet, but he would...
You were standing in the women's section, holding up a hot pink bra, "I wanted your opinion on something," you asked sweetly, "It's a little embarrassing, I just don't know what color looks good on me."
He froze, and you were pretty sure you short-circuited his brain. Denki turned away for a moment, but when he resurfaced, his chill demeanor was restored, "Are you trying to distract me, (Y/N)? That's cute, but let's talk after I win."
"Darn, you caught me," you shrugged.
"What're you going to do now?" he strode over. You placed yourself on the other side of the display table, keeping yourself at a safe distance. "Is this a self-sacrificing mission?" he asked.
"Not quite," you said under your breath, "Excuse me!" You waved to the woman folding shirts. Denki staggered, looking unsure of what to do.
"I'm so sorry," you smiled, "But my friend is looking for underwear for his girlfriend. He's really shy about it, though. Do you think you could give him some advice? He was too afraid to ask you, so I did it for him."
Denki's face fell. It was difficult holding your laughter in, but you stayed true to your act. The woman who looked to be in her sixties, blushed at your request, "Oh, to be young... Of course, I'll help you dear!" She pats Denki on the back, making his mortification even worse. "Now, what does your girlfriend like? Or, rather, what do you like?" She added with a timid giggle.
"(Y/N)..." Denki's ghost left his body.
You blew him a kiss and skipped ahead to where you left Jiro. She was almost in tears from laughing so hard, "His face... oh, his face!" she snorted.
The victory was short-lived when you both realized you still had an objective. Jiro had said more of the blue team was close by, so you couldn't let your guard down yet. The two of you were able to sneak out of the exit without being noticed, thankfully, but now the final stretch began.
"I say we just book it," Jiro said, "We can split up if someone sees us. At least one of us will make it to the park."
"Right," you took a deep breath.
Then, you were off. Both of you running like your life depended on it. Normally, you would pace yourself, but the end was so close. You could do a half-mile sprint, right? No problem...
Jiro glanced behind her, "It's Sato! We're..."
"What?" you gasped between breaths.
"Kirishima, and Iida... crap. AND Ojiro."
Poor Sato had three guys on him. Jiro nudged your arm, "Hey, I'm taking the other street. See you at the finish!"
You nodded. Keeping yourselves in a cluster lowered the chances of one of you making it. You could see the park from where you were. A triumphant smile spread across your face. You were going to make it! You-
As you approached the street corner, your body collided with a giant figure who seriously felt like a stone wall. You were so focused on the finish line, that you forgot about pedestrians. Crap. Hopefully, this person wasn't about to rip you a new one.
The impact pushed you back and you landed on your bum, hard. You warily peered up at the person you just assaulted.
He was a literal beast. Like, All Might was a beefcake, but this guy was maybe two of him. At least, in the bicep department. To further your humiliation, he wasn't alone. He stood next to a shorter - average-sized - male with dark hair and another figure who was tall but had the funkiest hairstyle... Were his bangs arrow-shaped? How does one even do that?
"I-I'm so sorry!" you gasped when you saw the masks they were wearing. Ugh, why so creepy? They looked like plague doctors. You crossed your fingers they'd just come back from a cosplay convention. Or that they were all heroes with similar tastes...
However, they were all in normal business clothing. The dark-haired one had a colorful mask of red and gold, but he wore all black with a basic white tie. His mask only covered his nose and mouth, leaving his golden eyes to look down at you.
You did not like this guy. Creepy mask or not, he had a terrifying, heavy aura around him. Even more so than his friends who looked like hired muscle. His piercing eyes made you want to retreat into a dark corner and never come out.
"Are you in some kind of trouble?" golden-eye asked, but his tone was offputting. There was no concern in his voice.
"N-No," you said, "I just wasn't paying attention. I apologize."
He didn't respond, but his eyes remained glued to you. The big guy next to him suddenly reached down and pulled you up by your wrist. He was so strong that you were airborne before you were on your feet again. You were going to thank him, but you were silenced by a startling sensation in your arm.
You recoiled from him and held your wrist tightly to your chest. What was that just now? It felt like two stones rubbing together, except the stones were your arm against his grip. Even he seemed puzzled by the contact. His face was covered, but he shook his hand as if a bee stung him.
You really blew it now. Not only were you rude to the man who just helped you, but you knew your face was contorted in alarm.
Golden-eye hadn't blinked once, "Are you sure? You look nervous."
You backed away, slowly, "Yeah. I'm fine! Thank you..."
"Hm," you noticed he also had white gloves on his hands. Maybe he's a germaphobe. "Are you out here all alone? Is that really wise, for a young woman to do?"
Your legs felt numb.
"You should be more careful. You don't know who you'll run into out here," he said.
And you aren't making me feel any better about it!
"I'll try to remember that..." you backed up even further.
"There you are."
You turned, just as you saw Todoroki and his hand on your shoulder, "Let's get out of here. Our friends are waiting," he said.
He didn't wait for a response and led you across the street - away from the plague people. You were too terrified to even give them another glance. Did Todoroki sense that they were trouble too? Golden-eye chilled you to your core, but you were curious about the big muscly one.
Why did your quirk react that way when he touched you?
"Thanks, Todoroki," you said once you were out of earshot.
"For what?" he asked.
"Well, for getting me out of there, I guess."
He stopped, "Oh. Yeah. But I wasn't joking. Our friends really are waiting." Without warning, he lifted you off the ground and threw you over his shoulder.
"W-What the hell, Todoroki?" you pushed off of his back.
"What?" he said simply, "I'm taking you to jail."
"Jail?! Oh..." your heart sank, "Oh no. Did we lose, then?"
The stupid plague doctors made you forget the whole reason you bumped into them in the first place. You didn't see Jiro anywhere, but you hoped she made it at least.
"Hey, uh," your fingers felt the definition in his back - solid! "You don't have to carry me you know?"
"No?" he asked, "How shall I apprehend you, then?"
You were glad your front half was out of sight, that way you could hide your blush.
"...N-Nevermind!" You couldn't see his face, but you felt his upper body pulse from a chuckle.
It made you sad that you couldn't win for your team, but the night's surprises weren't over yet. When Todoroki finally let you down, you were with your entire class, congregated at the park. It was impossible to miss the gloom that came from the blue team.
"I'm sorry guys," you frowned, "I was so close, too."
"Sorry?" Momo beamed, "Don't be. We won!"
You shook your head, "Wh- How? Who made it?!"
Uraraka little brunette head appeared, "Everyone was too focused on you and Jiro, they forgot about me! I should be offended by that... but I was able to win for us!"
"Girls win!" Momo jumped into the air.
You were roped into a victory mosh-pit with the girls - plus Koda and Sato. It was funny that no one was afraid to be close to you, physically speaking. They knew about your quirk, and yet they were totally comfortable passing you around and hugging you. It was something so trivial, something they probably didn't even consider, but it meant a lot to you.
Momo then rubbed her hands together, and gave the blue team a sinister glare, "Now then..."
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!"
Bakugo had steam coming out of his nose. He was staring down Momo like he actually wanted to commit murder. However, it was hard to take him seriously while he was in a fluffy onesie... with bunny ears.
"WHY AM I THE RABBIT?" he ground his teeth so hard you thought they'd break.
"I'd rather be the rabbit than an armadillo..." Mineta muttered.
Momo just giggled, clearly proud of herself, "Everyone got an animal, Bakugo, you're not special."
"Lookin' good guys!" Sato taunted while giving them a thumbs up. Koda didn't open his mouth, but his head moved up and down - you guessed that was him laughing?
"I'm making this my wallpaper," Jiro snickered.
The blue team lined up against a wall, wearing onesie pajamas that Momo created. They all had animal hoodies - your favorite being Iida's who had a pink unicorn.
"Men," Iida's voice cracked, "We shall take our loss, honorably. No matter... what!"
"Speak for yourself," Denki played with the ears on his onesie, "Pikachu isn't even a real animal."
"Hush, blasphemer!" Jiro said, "Now smile big for me!"
That night, you all returned to Momo's house, exhausted and sweaty. But it had been so worth it. You laughed until you cried, enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime photo of your class. Izuku made a pretty adorable duckling, not to mention Todoroki and his panda ears...
You knew this was the last night for a while that you could all be so carefree. Next week was the last before the sports festival...
If only time could stop, you smiled, just for a little.

I was Reborn as the Villainess but I will become a Great Sage
Nova Allandis, formerly known as Suna Lee, remembers her previous life and realizes her current life is as the villainess in a fantasy novel she once read. However, as Suna, she was the laziest person with no motivation, possibly attributed to the fact that she didn't go into a major that was her strongest suit. Now that she has a high affinity towards magic and wishes to go into it, will she be able to change her lazy self for the better, or will she go back to being lazy like the villainess in the novel? Can she become a Great Sage and live life happily this time? Note: This is not a "revenge of the villainess" novel, but rather a "rise to fame" novel. A/N: This is just an experimental novel and criticisms are much appreciated, but I'm extremely defensive of my own work and characters. If you are here to put down a novel, please remember, first of all, you are not paying anything to read this, and second of all, authors are humans too.

Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.
