《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》Part 5 - We're Soarin', Flyin'

"Are you sure you're okay, Izuku?" you watched as he practically hobbled along to keep up.
"Y-yeah!" he grinned, "I'm good! I just... overdid it a bit."
Iida looked down at us from inside his robotic helmet, "That quirk of yours is very punishing, Midoriya."
"Your hand isn't looking too good," you sighed, "But no breaks until we win, huh?"
The three of you were making your way to your next location. Iida was fresh and ready for the challenge, while you and Midoriya tried to keep up with his enthusiasm. You were worried about your usefulness as well. If you were cruel, you could ask Midoriya to lend you some energy, but that could result in him passing out at this point.
And Iida was completely covered - head to toe! You glared at the annoying, baby-transformer costume. Your only hope was to snag someone from the opposite team, but that idea still made you feel crummy inside.
But, you guys had to win.
"We should prepare ourselves for all possibilities," Iida said, "We can't attack and hope that backup arrives. And with the state that you two are in, we should get a strategic game plan going."
"Um," Midoriya thought aloud, "I mean, (Y/N) could recharge and I still have one good hand."
"Recharge?" Iida balked, "How does this quirk of yours work? Not like Midoriya's I hope. No offense."
"None taken..." he muttered.
You felt your face turning pink, "Um! Well..."
"No time to be timid now. If we can power up your quirk, we ought to, now," Iida said. You liked Iida, quite a bit actually. You respected him as a leader and as the student council president. But, truthfully, you two never had a chance to bond like the others. You knew why, and it was mostly your fault.
Iida admired hard work. And if you were being totally honest with yourself, Bakugo had been right about you - you were holding back. You held out on all of them. Now, it seemed that Iida was recognizing you, really, for the first time.
"Alright," you sighed, "I... need to..."
A loud explosion shook the ground. Glass from the buildings above you shattered and rained down. Iida acted quickly and shielded you and Midoriya. The glass didn't leave a scratch on his suit.
"I didn't know we were that close!" you gasped.
"Neither did I!" Iida said, "Our location isn't for another few blocks!"
"Kacchan?!" Midoriya looked up.
On top of one of the many buildings, you spotted colors dancing in the air. A violent battle ensued. It appeared to be a chase, with Bakugo as the cat, and the mouse in a green suit. More explosions vibrated and lit up the air.
"DIE YOU PATHETIC WEAKLINGS!" A raging voice could be heard clearly from the distance.

"I'd say Bakugo is an accurate guess," Iida said.
You spotted someone in a pink uniform as well. Uraraka was using her gravity to raise and lower herself in order to peek through the broken windows of the building. She must be hunting for their objective.
"I couldn't see who Bakugo was blasting," you said, "But it's about to be Uraraka next!"
"Let's help out!" Iida offered.
Midoriya's eyes were moving a million miles a minute, "We need a way to get up there as quickly as possible..." He looked at their surroundings, "We need..."
He moved faster than lightning, collected city props, like a nearby dumpster, and constructed a very poor-looking ramp. However, Iida seemed to understand his role.
"Hold on to me," he instructed.
"Are we seriously doing this?" you asked.
"If you and I can land a power kick right before we launch, we'll make it," Midoriya beamed, "Iida's jets will carry us the rest of the way."
You had nothing else to contribute but worried eyes and sweaty palms. You did trust that Iida wouldn't let you do anything too stupid, though. So, you swallowed your fear and grabbed one of his arms.
"Alright, Iida..." Midoriya said, "Now!"
Fire escaped from the back of Iida's calves. You and Midoriya had to kick off at the same time. As you launched forward on the back of robot-Iida, the ramp was nearing, and your foot was raised.
You nearly lost your grip on Iida, but thankfully, Midoriya was there to catch you. With all three of your quirks launching you upwards, the speed was intense. If I don't have whiplash after this...
"Midoriya! (Y/N)!" Iida shouted, "Incoming!"
You approached the building faster than anticipated, and though you were still at a distance, it seemed Bakugo noticed. He snarled and with his hand cannons, he leaped from the roof. His molten eyes looked furious and bloodthirsty.
"I have an idea," Midoriya called to you. Both of you had hair whipping around your faces from the wind, and you already had a pit in your stomach from being so high up, but you nodded to your teammate.
Bakugo was laughing as he came closer to Iida - midair. His hands were already smoking. Midoriya suddenly had green sparks around his body. He shouted a quick apology to Iida, before kicking off his shoulders.
"YOU IDIOT! I'M GOING TO OBLITERATE YOU, STUPID NERD!" Bakugo was grinning like a maniac.
Midoriya made it obvious he was going to punch Bakugo. His stance was easy to read - one arm and leg back to create the most impact. Bakugo seemed too thrilled by his attempt.
"YOU'RE DEA-" Bakugo stopped.
Attached to Midoriya's leg, was you. While Bakugo focused on Midoriya and anticipated his move, you were in the background (trying desperately to not have a panic attack!) Midoriya swung his leg forward, giving you the momentum to land a devastating uppercut.

"Ha!" you exclaimed. Midoriya's plan worked! Bakugo's explosion missed them by a hair. He went soaring until he crash-landed back on the roof.
Now, you and Midoriya were airborne and you had no energy left.
Shit. Shit. SHIT!
You were mentally preparing yourself for the several-story fall when you felt a tap on your shoulder. Instead of plummeting down, you were floating!
"That was amazing you guys!" Uraraka's smiling face greeted you, "Quick, get inside!"
She was already gliding towards one of the windows. You and Midoriya, whom she also saved, followed. Uraraka pulled him through, and then you, before releasing her anti-gravity quirk. You landed on the office floor and didn't want to move again. Your heart was beating so loudly you thought you would go deaf.
"Thanks, Ochaco," Midoriya gasped, "I was hoping you'd see us."
You rolled over to glare at him, "You had all these plans but not one for in case we fell to our deaths?"
"Ahaha..." he scratched his head, "Well..."
Uraraka just giggled, "You trust us so much, Midoriya. Thank you for coming! Asui and I have been having a hard time..."
Someone came thundering up the stairwell. Before you had any time to react, the door burst open. The three of you tensed, ready to defend, but Iida's voice was music to your ears.
"Well done!" he said, "I was able to land inside, but a few floors below you. Glad to see you're still fighting, Uraraka. How can we help?"
"Iida!" Uraraka exclaimed, "Where did you come from?"
"Our objective was to rescue Iida from Kaminari and Todoroki," Midoriya explained, "So we have an extra teammate!"
"That's great! We need all we can to take on Bakugo... Oh - Asui! We need to find her!"
Your new team of four rushed to the staircase. If Asui was on the roof by herself with Bakugo - and whoever his partner was as - she could already be toast. Iida and Uraraka were ahead, while you struggled to climb each flight of steps.
But this is it... I'm training to become my best! I have to keep going.
Midoriya looked at you in concern but focused on getting to the roof with the others. Just as Iida's hand was on the doorknob separating you all from the outside, a loud explosion sent you all tripping and falling over each other.
Fire and debris attacked your face. You hit your head pretty hard on something, so it took a moment for your vision to normalize. Everything was moving and you saw black spots everywhere. Your ears were ringing, but you were able to hear Uraraka screaming and Iida using his jets.
When you could finally see again, a merciless face was staring down at you. Bakugo continued to glare while pulling on your wrists. What is he doing? You blinked a few times and saw that he had a piece of white rope in his hands.
"No!" you squealed and instinctively kicked him in the nuts.
"....... FUCKING HELL!?" he caved forward.
"(Y/N)!"
Midoriya appeared from somewhere and dove at Bakugo, throwing him off of you. You coughed and crawled out of the destroyed doorway. The explosion had blown it right off - it was amazing none of you were killed. You wanted to go back and help Midoriya, but you had to be able to see clearly first.
After rubbing more crud out of your eyes, you spotted Uraraka in a fetal position. Her hands were tied behind her back. Her eyes were glistening, "I'm sorry, guys..."
Iida hadn't been captured yet, but he took the brunt of the blast, so half of his helmet was missing, "(Y/N), quickly, let's find our objective and avenge Uraraka!"
"Right!" you said, "Are you okay, Ochaco?"
"Yeah... don't worry about me. Just stop the villains!"
You and Iida both nod, "Now where is Asui?" Iida asked aloud.
"Over here... ribbit." You heard her soft voice nearby, but she was nowhere to be seen. She sounded like she could possibly be injured.
You paused, "Iida, wait. Go back and help Izuku? I'll find Asui!"
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yes!"
He put on a determined face and ran to the boys still in the stairwell. Iida could be of more use than you right now, you decided. You proceeded with your own rescue mission. It couldn't be too hard to find her, seeing as the rooftop was completely flat.
Where was she?
"Asui?" you called.
"I'm... stuck," she said.
You were frantic now. Sure, Aizawa said he wouldn't let anyone get horribly injured, but who could stop someone like Bakugo when he was on a rampage?
"Asui!" you tried again.
"(Y/N)? Ribbit."
Her voice was really close now, and you realized it was coming from beside you. But next to you, was the ledge. You took a chance and peered over the side. There she was, Asui! She was attached to the side of the building, in her frog-stance. Nothing about it seemed too odd.
You looked more closely, and realized she was actually stuck against the building, and acting as the glue were purple balls. Survival instincts kicked in, and you knew this was going to be a trap. You whipped around, and as you did, your heel got stuck in something gelatin.
"Well, well, well," a familiar, cringy voice said, "What have we here?"

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
