Chapter Eleven: Sleeping Together

"So have you two kisses or anything?" Ethan asks, smirking at Reed.

Reed looks at me. "Not exactly."

"What does that mean?"

"Nothing!" I shout. "It means nothing at all! We haven't kissed or anything!" Just because Ethan is okay with Reed and I possibly being something doesn't mean he has to know what we did together.

No one does.

Ever.

"This is so weird." Ethan stares at me. "I've known you forever and I swore one day I'd be your best man."

"We all know Josie would be my best man, Ethan." I chuckle softly. "But what does that mean? Just because I like a guy doesn't mean I'm not going to get married, one day." Honestly I really don't want to think about marriage right now. I'm sixteen. I don't need to.

"Two dudes can't get married!"

"Can to!" Reed glares. "Caleb and I can get married if we want! In New York!"

"Ew, I'm not going to New York to marry you! We'll get married in my- Reed we aren't even dating."

He smiles. "Let’s just skip that and get married." I roll my eyes.

"As lovely as that sounds, I've know you like a month. And we are way too young." What if he was actually being serious? Could I actually marry a man? I never thought of my future family very much but I always expected to marry some girl and have a few kids. I don't necessarily want kids, but if I choose to spend forever with a man I don't even get a choice. It's not like men can get pregnant. I guess we could adopt...

Eh.

"Damn, rejected." Ethan snickers.

Reed keeps smiling. "Then if we're too young for that, what do you say about just dating?"

I shrug. "I mean I like you-" my eyes widen. He just! He just asked me out! Oh my God!

"I like you too princess, but that doesn't answer my question." He laughs. Ethan sits awkwardly on Reed's air mattress trying to not look at the two of us.

I blush a little.

"Yes, no?"

"I, uh, yes?" I've never even asked anyone out before! I always thought I'd do the asking out thing. I guess it doesn't really matter who does what in a gay relationship.

"Maybe I should ask later?" A very confused Reed stares at me. "I mean I can do it more romantic if you want."

"No!" I stop him. "Please no, this is fine. I'll go on a date with you." I've never been on a date before so I'm not sure what to expect. I hope he doesn't plan anything too special, for now at least, I only have wrinkled tee shirts and faded jeans with me.

Then again we're stuck at the fair for another week, there's not anything really fancy going on.

"Really?" He grins excitedly. "Best day ever!"

"Most awkward day ever." Ethan mumbles softly to himself.

I sit criss-cross applesauce. Smiling like a fool.

"Mmh, Reed stop!" I giggle softly slapping the hand wrapped firmly around my waist. Maybe I should explain the situation before your minds start wondering off to the gutter.

Since Ethan is spending the night Reed decided it'd be best if he was the one to share an air mattress with me. Apparently "no other boy is allowed to touch me". That and sharing a bed with Ethan isn't fun. He rolls around too much.

Anyways…

"Reed!" I blush softly as he continues to nibble on my ear.

Okay maybe it was right for your mind to leap into that gutter. But it's not like we're doing anything else! Especially not with Ethan here! Now if he wasn’t, it would be another story.

"Why should I stop when your reactions are so cute princess?" He smirks against my neck.

Me cute? Eh..

I let out a huff. "Reed! Ethan is here! You're making me feel awkward!"

"So?" His lips travel down the back of my neck. I shiver.

"So! I don't want Ethan waking up to us doing stuff!"

"Like what type of stuff?" Reed's hand moves to my thigh.

"Please stop." I groan, pulling away. "I'm really tried."

"I'm sorry princess." He finally settles down and lies on his back.

I turn to face him, placing my head on his chest. "It's okay."

Closing my eyes, I begin to drift off, and then Reed speaks, again.

"Hey Caleb are you my boyfriend?"

"Dunno." I mumble into his warm chest. He’s really comfy. "You decide." In all honesty, I'd much rather do this in the morning. It's like 2 AM. Way too late to talk about this kind of stuff.

"If you're my boyfriend can we sleep naked together?"

"If that shuts you up." I'm hardly even paying attention. Sleep is pulling me in and I'm letting it win.

"If I'm your boyfriend can I fuck you?"

"Mmh." I close my eyes and listen to Reed's heartbeat. It's calming.

"And when I fuck you will you moan my-"

That I heard.

My eyes snap open. "Shut up Reed." I grumble. "It's too late. Ask me this in the morning."

"Fine."

A few minutes pass and I can't seem to fall back into my state of relaxation. "Reed." I poke his stomach. This is all that bastard’s fault!

"What happened to sleeping?" He chuckles.

"I can't sleep now." Sighing, I sit up. "I want food."

"Princess it's two in the morning."

"I don't care. I'm hungry."

Reed sits up next to me. "Everything is closed."

I pout and collapse against him. "Do you have food?"

"You can eat me."

I roll my eyes and ignore his dirty remark. "We should leave. Go to McDonald's or something."

"I'm not walking there at two! And there's no way in hell you're going by yourself." Reed pats my head.

"We can take my mom's car!" I'm not sure why I'm so hungry. I ate a bunch today. Maybe eating will calm me down and I'll fall asleep faster.

"Do I get something in return?" He wiggles his eyebrows.

Alright now’s my time to prove I can be just as perverted as him! I want Reed to see I'm not all dorky momma’s boy!

"If you drive me to get food, I'll make you a very, very happy guy." Not only to I say this in the most provocative voice I can, but I also finish the whole thing off with a suggestive wink.

Oh god, what did I just do? That was ridiculous! He's going to think I'm so, so weird!

"Alright. Up. Let’s go get some food."

Wait, no, It worked.
