"No".
"Come on Tony, he's old enough to go on missions".
"Look, Nat, I know you guys get along, and it's not like I don't trust you" he looked her in the eyes quick, "I do, it's just..."
"I know you just want to protect him, but how else is he supposed to get experience?"
Tony was silent. His eyebrows were switching between something concerned, but also signifying that he was thinking. He picked up the white coffee mug and downed the whole thing. Sighing as he rubbed his face, he looked back up at the spy. "Fine".
Natasha made a quick smile. She didn't want Stark to know how excited she was to spend time with the baby spider.
"But there are conditions".
She looked to Tony, his face serious. "Of course. Your kid, your rules".
Tony walked over to Natasha and leaned against the table. A few paperclips fell to the floor, scattering.
"I don't want you gone for too long. Three days at most, and nothing too dangerous. Make sure you call every night, and I will be monitoring Peter's vitals at all times. And if anything goes wrong, or if something becomes dangerous, get Peter out of there. He's been in the med bay so many times, the doctors are starting to gossip about my parenting skills".
Nat smiled at the last one, and she held back a chuckle. "Of course Tony".
Tony watched as Natasha walked out of his lab. He was sure that the mission would be fine, but he couldn't help but worry.
------------------------------------
"Hey, Peter? It's time to go."
Peter opened his eyes and met Natasha's. She was wearing her spy suit and holding a few bags, 'supplies', he thought.
Peter got out of bed while Natasha went to go pack the car. He got dressed in his spy suit and attached new fluid packs to his web-shooters. If he ran out, that would be a big problem. He packed extra clothes, a few extra fluid packs, and toiletries into his bag. He skipped out the door in excitement. 'I can't believe dad actually said yes'.
Natasha and he had spoken of going on a mission soon. Peter had recently turned sixteen and he and his aunt were extremely close. She had been teaching him how to fight better because apparently he was "sloppy". Her words, not his. Nat had taught him how to be stealthy and even taught the young hero some Russian.

He walked to the car and put his bags in the trunk. He made eye contact with his aunt, smiled, and they sat in the car.
An little while passed before Nat pulled out her watch. She opened a blue screen, one that was projected from the expensive watch. The plan was in front of his brown eyes.
'Dangerous Man?'
'Stolen files on the Avengers'
Apparently, some fake worker had been able to get a job at Stark Industries. He acted like a normal employee for a few months but had secretly taken some files. They were identified to be files on the Iron Man Suit, Captain America's powers, Hawkeye's whereabouts, and even some files on Peter himself. If these files got into the wrong hands, who knows what would happen and what those people would create.
Peter's eyes widened when he realized which file on him had been taken. The document had the list of all his abilities, his relationships, and his identity. 'If they deliver those files...' he thought.
Natasha must have realized what he was so concerned about, so she started telling him her plan. They would follow the man for a bit and take back the flash drive and any evidence that could be used against them.
"Peter? If anyone tries to attack, I will allow you to fight. But if things get too dangerous, I'm taking you out of there".
He nodded but he didn't like that part of the plan.
------------------------------
They watched the man as he walked around town. A briefcase in his right hand, the flash drive likely inside. Peter took in the man's looks.
Grey short hair
Dark eyes
Pale skin
Tall
Looked like he was angry.
The man quickly turned into an alley. Nat and Peter followed. She motioned a finger to her lips. 'Be quiet'.
They watched as the man handed the briefcase to another man, this one was covered in dark clothing, Peter couldn't see his face. The hooded man handed over another case, probably cash. They nodded heads and then turned away from each other. A deal was completed. They followed this man back to a warehouse, empty it seemed. They went on the roof and Nat made a small hole, dropping a tiny drone into the room. She turned on their earpieces.
"Is that it?" A woman's voice.

"Yes, dropped off in the right location, at the right time. Though, he seemed nervous. Kept darting his eyes up". The hooded man.
Peter's eyes widened as he heard the echo of a slap.
"You dumbass! He was being followed! How dense can you be??"
Peter looked to Nat, her eyes had widened a bit she she seemed calm.
"Those people are probably watching us now. Stand back"
Natasha's eyes widened, "Move!". Too late. Both spiders fell into the building. The roof had been broken in. They landed in a crouch. Natasha could see a few splinters her suit and in Peter's suit but he seemed fine.
The lady who had taken the briefcase snarled. She turned to the man and shot him. "Can't have someone on my team who can't even make a mission without losing a trail".
Natasha attacked first. She threw kicks and dodged punches aimed at her. 'Aunt Nat is so cool!' he thought, 'now it's my turn'.
Peter shot his webs onto the pillars around the building. He launched himself towards the woman and knocked her off balance. Landing over her, Peter quickly webbed her into a cocoon.
Natasha grabbed the briefcase, and the two heroes turned to leave. Then everything went to hell.
-----------------------------------------------
About 30 men and women flooded the warehouse, guns in hand.
"Spidey! We gotta get out of here. There are too many".
Natasha looked to the roof, so did he.
In quick movements, the two quickly climbed up the walls and quickly ran away on the surrounding rooftops. Gunshots echoed. Peter heard screams of frustration coming from the building. The briefcase was still in Natasha's hands. She took the flash drive out and put it in her pocket. "Let's go".
"Natasha! Look out!"
Natasha watched in slow motion as a young man shot at her as he fell back through the unstable roof. He had climbed up the side of the building, determined to get the flash drive back. She knew she didn't have time to move. She braced herself for pain, but it never came. Instead, she saw Peter bleeding out on the rooftop.
"Shit! Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay. I gotta get us out of here. I'm going to move you okay?"
She quickly picked up the teenager and jumped down into the alleys. Calling her car, she carefully set the teen down. Wrapping the wound, she jumped into the car and drove off.
-------------------------------------------------------
She was driving towards Avengers Tower when she got the call she had been dreading.
"Where are you?"
"We are almost back Tony. His vitals are stable, I stopped the bleeding. Though, he's still unconscious"
She heard the older man let out a breath. "Okay, okay. I knew he shouldn't have gone. This is my fault".
"Tony, if this is anyone's fault, it's mine. I should have watched him better. He was my responsibility, it's my fault that Peter is hurt. I'm sorry".
"Nat-"
"We are pulling up, get the med bay ready".
Natasha pulled the car into the garage. A few doctors ran out and placed Peter on a stretcher. He groaned in pain. They ran off towards med bay, all she could do was fall to her knees.
She sat still. Tears pricked her eyes. It was her fault. She should be the one in pain, not him. He should be happy, not feeling the pain in his lower abdomen. She is the one who caused it.
'My fault.'
'It's my fault.'
'He's gonna hate me.'
Natasha went back to her room.
---------------------------------------------------
When Peter woke up, he didn't seem to be into much pain. Yeah, he was sore, but nothing he couldn't handle. Tony had given him a lecture, and a long hug. But when Peter didn't see Natasha, his heart dropped.
"Hey, dad?"
"What's up kiddo?"
"Where's Aunt Nat?"
"She...is in her room. She just needs some time to think. She feels that it was her fault".
Peter got up despite Tony telling him not too. He walked to Natasha's room and went inside. She was asleep on the bed, tear tracks from the previous crying were still visible. Her face seemed to be stuck in a frown.
Peter didn't want to wake her, but he laid down in the bed next to her. "It wasn't your fault. I was protecting you. I would never blame you".
As he fell asleep, he was pretty sure he felt her sigh in relief, and maybe he even saw a smile.
