《Poems》Lost in time, found through memories

Sand dripping down,

hitting the cracked ground,

being swept by a light breeze

as all movements cease,

a waterfall slows to a trickle,

circumstances oh so fickle,

grain on grain piled up,

seeping out of the cup,

memories of you buried underneath,

sufficating you, hard to breathe,

but what can you do

when no one talks about you,

chasing your name away,

the most cursed thing to say,

where did it all go wrong?

guess you never knew

how to play their song,

her discontent only grew,

her words pierced

your sensitive ears,

even now it still rings,

your fingers too numb for delicate strings

sticky and rough

from sugar and salt,

knuckles cut from from splintered wood,

though you only continued,

knocking hard enough to bruise,

but everyone missed the obvious cues,

overwhelmed, holding your breath,

wishing to cheat death,

something you knew was immature,

fingers crossed for a future

that never seemed bright,

always gave everyone a fright,

cursed by your prophetic insight,

burdened from a very young age,

expectations always so strange,

knew how to disappoint,

couldn't make a point,

no idea how to cope,

slipping and sliding down a steep slope,

first slowly, then accelerating,

more and more without stopping,

plagued by nightmares every night,

never knew how to make things right,

people were growing restless,

wished they would have cared less,

it was easy to disappear

at night when everything was clear,

observing from behind painted faces,

occupying unknown dusty places,

living with cute little rats,

having small insignificant chats,

slowly going crazy out of your mind,

but they were much more patient and kind

than most of those you left behind,

but when you'd gone,

still kept a piece of you home,

wanting to return one day,

when they were ready to say:

'Hello,

it's been so long, you know,

and we missed you so,

know we've got a lot of apologies to make,

but we're really glad you're here okay

and we're ready for you to stay.'
