《Poems》Oh, to be a statue forgotten

I will wait for the world to stop

With our faces carved in marble

Lips inches apart forever close

Touching barely but never fully

Till there are cracks from old age

And we're drowning in some lake

Abandoned left to our own heaven

Surrounded by wildlife and hope

And no one remembers us anymore

But we still remember them

Because their memories live on

Written across our bodies' cold surface

Pulled safely beneath our broken wings

Secrets that we take to another life

And though they've long forgotten

We know what they've always wanted

Every time they ask of us the same

Don't let the world forget us angels
