Summer sun tickling your skin,
gentle wind caressing your hair;
you're the best you've ever been,
laying your soul bare.
Singing of the faraway seas
keeps your blood burning;
you're a breath away from peace
when the world stops turning.
Fresh air fills your lungs with longing
as your eyes overflow and your heart bursts
and you know now you need nothing
else to quench your ravenous thirst.
You're smiling wide
even as hot tears slide down your face
because you feel so right
occupying this timeless space.
Your mind is quiet
like it hasn't been in so long,
thoughts no more a riot,
knowing you belong.
