《Poems》Steal from the Lord of Heart and Soul

The brightest smile you can give

and the blue eyes with unshed tears filled;

no, not for these things I grieve,

but for the love you have killed.

Struck by the many harsh words

over and again, like a knife sharp;

you became the Emperor of Worlds,

wearing your natural godly garb.

As you opened your mouth to speak,

instead of a sound came no voice,

only a quiet plea, a scream so meek,

hardly recognizable from the silent noise.

Shaking hands and trembling knees;

you fell to the floor, legs too weak

and I felt your tight hold on me release,

but your core was still so bleak.

And when you gazed at me, unseeing,

I knew you could only pretend

to ignore their looks so pitying;

though it was just your mind's fragment.

With every step of mine towards the sky

you started sinking even deeper

and when I finally remembered how to fly,

at last, you realised I am not a keeper.
