Wild hair freely flowing

in the cold azure ocean;

neon green eyes glowing,

capturing hearts with tails' motion.

Voice so sweet and tempting,

beckoning you ever so closer.

All the people are jumping,

but every creature is a poser.

Just one remains on-board,

isn't seduced by their lies.

The muses get quickly bored

and finally stop their cries.

One swims forward warily

as the others observe, still.

At last, they talk properly,

without any intention to kill.

Deals are made clearly,

a strange new friendship forms.

Has to leave now - far too early,

but he's wary of the storms.

The way back is slow and quiet,

only company - the peaceful tunes.

The sailor eventually grows tired

and is lulled to sleep by their croons.

When he wakes again,

he's floating in a lovely bay,

outside's falling gentle rain

and everything's painted grey.

Seems almost like a dream,

like an old, faded memory.

Heart's full to the brim

with love for this new mystery.

Several years slowly pass,

but the vision's still so clear.

With only reflections in smudged glass,

the lovely lullaby he can still hear.

Unicorns lay with their maidens fair;

oh, how I wish I could bring you there,

to wonder and magic and pixie dust...

Unaware, over him, a love spell she cast.
