《Poems》Your Image and My View

Advertisement

Reflections in glass shards

stashed full with broken hearts;

but is it you gazing back,

or just a blank too-tight mask?

Salty tears stream down your face

quite similar to rare white pearls;

they soak through your velvet gown

as they keep slowly rolling down.

Has anyone ever thought

about how you really feel?

Or has everyone simply bought

the blatant lie on a silver reel?

There's a vanity covered in mirrors

and draped in a silky cloth.

It's made to hide all your errors,

therefore its surface is rather rough.

I'm always there with you, speaking,

when you feel like loudly screaming

until your throat's completely sore,

until your weakend knees hit the hard floor.

I gently cradle your puffy face

and wait for you to breathe.

In almost any case

rosy lips stretch to reveal your teeth.

I don't know who told you

I was dangerous – it's not true;

bearing simple pure wishes in my mind,

but I too can only be so kind.
