《Lethologica (an wdy au!)》2: Give 'em hell!

Letting y'all know right now this one's long, so if you hate reading long stuff then it'd be recommended to skip this chapter. (Summary down below at the end.)
————
I opened my eyes again and looked around. It was so dark I couldn't s ee anything, I could only make out a bunch of trees that was everywhere. And I was obviously on some grass, since the ground below me felt...Grassy.
I could feel this wave of happiness come over me as I missed nature so much and hardly got to even go outside. I jumped up and started running around. Oh how I missed this.
————-
I rested a while on some tree since I was so exhausted from running and getting all that excitement out of me. I also accidentally ran into some trees as well since it was so dark.
"Wait...Am I actually in the real world?" I wondered. Was the world always...This dark? I couldn't tell but I just sat with my thoughts for a moment until one thought struck me.
"Is there some type of habitat here?"
I sat up, curiosity got the best of me and I started wandering around, feeling out for trees or just...Anything.
———
All I could feel was grass and trees for a while, until I saw light. I ran to it to find out it was just some cliff.
I stared at the significant view for a while, everywhere...Was filled with trees. I was in a forest. A dark forest.
———-
I continued staring, I didn't want to leave this spot. I just wanted to admire the view for a while.
———-
As I was zoned out, someone thought it'd be funny to tip toe their way to me and try to push me off.
"Well, well, well. Look who managed to find their way here." I couldn't recognise them until they got closer, they had this purple shirt and this short dark purple looking hair...Their pants black and their shoes were this purple black and grey colour. I realised it was...
(Forgot to mention /new outfits.)
"Henry? Wait, why are you here?"
"Why am I here? Why am I here!? I come up to you and I don't even get a "nooo, don't push me off the cliff!" Or anything, just some stupid question."
"It's not stupid it's-"
"Anyways! Say goodbye to your pitiful life." Henry said, grabbing my hand. At that moment I felt something change, I was covered in smoke...Then.
"Woah what the?" Henry stared at me for a bit, curiosity was written all over his face. Not literally.
"Huh? Why are you looking at me like that?"
He just continued to stare until he snapped out of it.
"Anyways! Say goodbye to your pitiful life."
"Wait!" I screamed.
"Ugh, what?"
"What if...We started a truce?"
Henry looked at me with this "what are you even on about" look then crossed his arms.
"Go on..."
"We can be...Travel buddies, I don't hurt you and you don't hurt me."
"Sounds bullshit."
"I-it gets better! We can share food." I stuttered.
"Ew, why would I want to share food with you of all people?"
"Oh my god! I'll make you a blanket for goodness sake."
Henry's eyes widen.
"A blanket? How are you going to make that cat boy?"

"I have my ways! I'll even show you! If you let me up..."
Henry looked at me carefully, as if he were trying to read my intentions, which in turn, made me do the same to him.
He then pulled me up.
"Okay, does this involve you using those funky ears you have on top of your head? Or the dress that you're wearing?" Henry asked.
"Funky...What?" I touched my head and realised...
"The ears, where'd you get them from?"
"That's weird...I don't recall choosing...Cat ears? Is that what they are?"
"They more look like fox ears to me."
I just stood there for a moment.
"Oh yeah and also, what's with the pockets? What do you have hiding in there?"
"Pockets?" I looked down to my side to realise I had pockets.
I put my hand in and pulled out this tiny knife. Except it was glowing.
"Wow, so you're telling me, you had this knife, and you didn't even try using it on me?!"
"I didn't even know I had pockets!"
"Ugh okay...Just, show me how to make that blanket."
"Right."
I slowly backed away and ran for it.
"Hey! Don't tell me you said that just so you could run away!"
As I was running I felt this overwhelming amount of electricity hit me and I tripped onto the soft green grass.
"If I known you were going to run away I would of just pushed you down that cliff. Oh well. I'm sure you'll be useful to me so I'm taking you with me." Henry said, tying me up.
"Where are you planning on taking me?" I asked in a panicked voice.
"Somewhere, I'm not sure yet. I haven't been here for long."
Henry then spent god knows long dragging me around like I was some dog.
—————-
After a while Henry spoke.
"I'm tired, I suppose we could rest here for a while. Oh, and I decided I'm going to use your dress as a blanket."
"Huh?"
Henry then just grabbed half of my dress and leaned on the tree, instantly falling asleep.
I personally didn't like the fact that Henry just decided that my dress was a blanket, but, I just sucked it up and made myself comfortable and fell asleep.
———-
I woke up to an blood curling scream. I instantly bolted up, waking Henry.
"Hey what the hell?!"
"What? I heard someone yelling."
"Are you sure you're not hearing things?"
"No the fuck? Didn't you hear it to?"
"Nah."
Then that same scream was heard again.
"Never mind I did, let's go see what's up."
"Wait before we go, can I at least get untied? In case I have to fight something."
"Sure, but after this I'm typing you back up." Henry said, cutting the rope off of me.
We ran straight towards where all the yelling was coming from.
"Mike stop trying to fight it you're literally injured for goodness sake!"
"No! Jonathan-"
"Just stay back!"
"John-"
"I SAID STAY BACK!" Jonathan yelled, pushing Mike into the bushes behind, where we were.
"Ow..." Mike winced in pain.
Mike was wearing his usual clothes that he'd normally wear when he worked at Nintendo all those years ago. Except this time he had a huge scratch on his stomach and tiny ones on his arms.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked, offering my hand.
"No I'm- woah!" Mike jumped.
"Is something the matter?"
"No...It's just the guy behind you
"Am I really that scary?" Henry asked.
"Yeah, you totally are." I replied jokingly, rolling my eyes.
"Well I'm sorry but...Do you know that man behind you has done horrible things?" Mike whispered.
"Yeah, he literally kidnapped me before."
"He did? God damn it Henry, don't you have some manners?"
"Hey! I kidnapped him in a...Nice way."
"He tied me up and dragged me around like I was a poodle for god sake!"
"Wait wait wait...He? Are you telling me this is a guy?" Mike asked, pointing to me.
"Yeah, what's so bad about that?" Henry questioned.
"O-oh, I wasn't saying that's a bad thing, it's just...He looks like one, what makeup did you use?" Mike asked, turning to me.
"I didn't use any..." I answered awkwardly.
"Wow...You look awfully feminine. You actually remind me of Austin!"
I stood there awkwardly, smiling.
"That's because he is Austin." Henry told him.
"What?! Wait really?!"
"Yeah...Sorry to break it to you."
Mike just stood there.
I decided to change the subject. "Anyways, uh, let's get you bandaged up. You look awful."
"Oh no please, it's fine."
"Are you sure? You got cuts all over you, and they look really deep."
"I'll be fine, I'll just rest here for a while."
"Okay..."
I poked my head out of the bush to see what was going on with Jonathan.
Jonathan was wearing this brown long coat that had pockets, because, everything must have pockets. And he was wearing these long denim pants as well. I could see blood dripping from his shirt which didn't look good. He seemed to be fighting this huge ant that looked really red, also like it was communicating that it was angry.
(To lazy to draw out the scene so am just leaving the character design thing here.)
"God damn it! Why won't you just stand still?!" He yelled.
"Wow, that's a big ant." Henry commented. Peaking out the bushes with me.
"Yeah, all the animals here are usually bigger then usual." Mike informed.
"Oh okay."
"I think I have an idea on how to kill that thing." I announced.
"What's up?"
"Well, first we need to get Jonathan."
"He looks like he's busy right now."
"He's always busy." Mike butted in.
"Fair point, I'll just go and take him."
I hopped out of the bushes and ran towards Jonathan and yanked him back to the bush.
"Die you- hey, hey! Ow that hurts!"
"Sorry Jonathan but I need you for a moment."
"Ow...Hey wait, Austin? Is that you."
I didn't answer and just threw him into the bush.
"Okay so here's the plan."
"Hey wait! You didn't answer my question."
"Yes I'm Austin."
"Wow...Did your hair get longer or something?"
I just looked away, annoyed.
"Anyways! Henry, what do you have on you?"
"Uh...Hold on."
Henry went through his pockets.
"Electric axe, water, tomato sauce packets, bugs, alcohol- wait that's where it was?!"
"Okay, how much of that do you have?" I asked.
"Uhh..."
Henry continued to go through his pockets.
"Only that one."
"Good enough, Mike. What do you have?"
"To much."
"Prove it."
Mike started emptying his pockets to.
"Hm...This seems to be all I have on me."
I looked at all the things Mike had.
"Pen, paper, water. Okay the water will do, anything on you John?"
"Huh- oh! Uh...Just water...Nothing else..." Jonathan smiled.
"Are...You okay? You seem to be sweating an awful lot." I asked.
"No."
"Well at least your honest. Anyways, Henry, can you pour all of the water and alcohol onto the ant?"
"Why? What are you planning here?"
"I plan on using that axe you have on you."
"Okay...What about that knife though? Can't you try that on that ant?"
"My knife? Are you being serious here?"
"Yeah...I mean. Look at it. It's literally glowing."
"It's the size of those scissors that kindergartens have!"
"Just see what it does to the ant just in case."
"Whatever. Jonathan, can you make sure Mike doesn't die?"
"Sure, I wasn't really planning on coming withs anyways."
"Alright, lets go."
"Wait hang on a minute."
"Huh?"
"Where did the ant go?"
"What do you mean?"
"Before it was right there but now it isn't."
Suddenly we heard a loud scraping sound.
We turned around to see that ant.
"Jonathan! Mike! Run for it!" I yelled.
Jonathan nodded and grabbed Mike (bridal style, might I add.) and ran away.
I looked over at Henry, his outfit changed for some reason...I don't know why. It looked weird as hell, he was like...Wearing this witch hat that covers half of his face and this bandana that had butterflies on it...His outfit was even more confusing, he had this shirt with long diamond patterns on the sleeves with this see through skirt that had some sort of buckle? His pants were all ripped as well and he was wearing those shoes ballerinas would wear.
(Again, to lazy to draw the scene so here's the character design thing, we all know what an ballerinas shoes look like, right?)
"Wow, what's with the sudden outfit change?"
"Well, whenever I hit this button it just causally changes my outfit."
"Okay, whatever. I'll go distract the ant."
"Thanks! Hope you die."
I ran past the ant and got up to a high people.
"Oi! Looking for someone?"
The ant quickly noticed and went after me.
I ran loops around it, since, ants don't really have much brains in them to comprehend how to outsmart me.
Eventually Henry got up to a good spot and poured all the water and alcohol onto the ant and threw a hit at its head with his axe.
Surprisedly, the ant caught on fire.
It was running around, trying to put itself out.
I decided to test my knife in hopes it'd make this quicker, so I took a swing at it.
A bunch of electricity came out from the knife and onto the ant, which, made the fire worst, killing it.
"Wow...I have an electric knife." I mumbled to myself.
"Looks like it's the same kind of weapon I have."
"Yeah..."
"Mine is better by the way."
"You're only saying that because it's bigger."
"Well, that's one aspect of it."
I turned around and decided to go look for Jonathan and Mike.
"Hey, where are you going?"
"Going to look for Jonathan and Mike."
"You can't just leave without me!!"
"Pfft, who are you? My dad or something?" I chuckled.
"No!"
"Okay, c'mon moron."
———
Sum: Austin finds out he's in a forest and explores for a while then he finds Henry and nearly dies trying to talk it out, then they decide to go explore together and find Jonathan and Mike, then stuff happens.

Unearthing Secrets
Synopsis: With the Last War ending over 1,000 years prior, the now rebuilt continent of Iabrun has been a flourishing haven for races all across the world. The Ancient Races still hold scars left over from the Last War, their memories clear and their goal set in stone, disrupt any attempt to unearth the secrets that had been left buried beneath oceans of blood. A newly-born Dragon, a race near forgotten, had been born. Filled with curiosity over the demise of his own race 5,000 years prior to the start of the Last War, he must unearth the secrets left behind in order to truly find what he is looking for. This is my first fiction, any criticisms of the work are appreciated. The cover is bad, but editing was never my strong suit.
8 166How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.
8 199Game, Set, Match
You all know the story. The world changes, people get told by mysterious floating menus that earth is no longer the safe haven many first world countries assume it is. People gain magnificent powers. Mages are awesome. Humanity, Fuck Yeah, and all that. I've read the webnovels, seen the tropes. Nothing prepared me for reality. If this works as it should, then you'll be reading this sometime before everything changed. I hope this gives you a chance once it does. As someone on the other side of time, you cannot stop it, but you can fight it. If the world knows whats coming, and people indeed listen, this is game, set, and match.
