I know I did the silliest thing a guy can do when it comes to asking a girl on a date. I completely dragged some of my teammates at Anders' house and disturb the family for a bit.

My actual plan was to just ask Jade, every chance I get. But her mom has different plans, the night after I dropped them to Jade's apartment, Mrs. Kaufman hit me up.

I was shocked that night and relieved that Jade's mom has been so understanding, I fessed up everything I have done and ask for her forgiveness that I hurt her daughter. And with that she offered that she'll help me convince Jade to go on a date with me, after telling her that I want to take her daughter on a date.

This was all her idea, in the past few days we've been planning it together with Tori, Anders and we dragged Collins along with us.

I'm nervous. Like fuck! I am not asking Jade to marry me, but if she'll reject me. I'll surely shrink like a plastic bag getting burned out.

I noticed Collins dragging Jade on the kitchen and that is the signal. Everyone already knows what's going to happen so we slowly and silently went outside.

My teammates are all but giddy and supportive about this, which I totally appreciate. Mrs. Kaufman approached me as everyone is getting ready.

"Go easy on her, she told us earlier that she's not feeling well." She reminded and I nodded.

Few seconds passed and everyone is ready, Collins finally went out of the house waving a thumbs up. I braced myself.

"Goodluck!" He said when he walk past through me.

I made my way through the kitchen seeing Jade checking out ingredients of I don't even know what.

"What time will we start baking? I do-- oh! I thought it's Collins." She said.

I tried to hide my nervousness and smile. "Hi, how are you? Your mom said, your not feeling well."

I saw her twitch her lips, still gluing her eyes on some of the grocery bags. "What? You guys are close friends now?"

I chuckled and silent for a bit. "Uhm... Jade?"

"Hmmm?" This time she looked up and I suddenly can't breath. I have never felt this nervous before.

"You got a sec?" I don't freaking know what to say to her at the moment.

"What's up?" She asked and then noticed the thing that I am currently holding.

"Oh my gosh! Are you going to blindfold me Barzal? I knew it." She asked sounding so annoyed but yet she looks amused. "I knew there's something fishy going on. What are you trying to do? "

I only smiled sheepishly and waved the blindfold.

"I don't know what's up with you and a blindfold but I'm not wearing that." She said pointing at the blindfold on my hands. Slowly the Jade I knew is coming out. She's slightly grinning at me right now.

"Why do you have to be such a spoiler?" I said smiling at her widely too.

Baby steps, baby steps.

"You know I hate being surprised."

"It is not a surprise." I reassured her.

"Then let's ditch the blindfold, dumbass!" She said. "What is it?"

I sighed. "Alright, then let me use my hands to cover your eyes then."

She stared at me for ten seconds contemplating on whether to do it or not, as I offered my hand for her to take.

"Fine!" She said dropping her hands on mine, I couldn't help but squeeze it.

She stood in front of me and let me cover her eyes. This is the closest contact I have with her eversince we broke up I miss being next to her and touching her.

"What are you trying to do, Barzy?"

"Barzy." I echoed. "I missed that."

She snickered and tried to elbow me but she didn't start from walking, instead she pulled my hands that is currently covering her eyes and faced me.

"Uhm... Mat?" She said looking straight to my eyes sounding so hesitant.

I suddenly cannot breath and I can't even talk. I seriously wanted to kiss her but I won't, not until she officially takes me back.

I just raised my brows instead.

She looked down and sighed. "I'm sorry."

When I heard those words, I just lose all my control and I reached for her grabbing her waist holding her close to me.

"Jade." I said and reached for her cheeks. Water starts to form on her eyes. "No. I'm sorry, I let that shit happen-- that I ruined us."

"I believed you then Mat." She sighed blinking the tears away. "And I'm so sorry for being so insecure that I refused to forgive you right away even if I know that I have already did."

She wiped her tears away slightly laughing and looked at me again. "I'm so sorry Barzy, I understand if things won't work out between us and that if you chose to be friends. It's fine with me, of course you don't want to be with someone who deals with a lot of insecurities and shit bu--"

"Are you already rejecting me? Or something?" I said grinning this time. "The hell Jade, you haven't seen what's going on outside yet and now you already sound like you are about to reject me."

She gasped opening her mouth. "Oh my god, are you asking me to marry you?"

"You wish?"

"Absolutely not. I'm not ready for that." She replied chuckling. "What's going on outside Mat?"

I hesitate but she's now glaring at me. "What is it? If you're not going to tell me, I am not coming out."

"You let me covered your eyes like five seconds ago and now you decided to--"

"Just." She started raising her index fingers. "Tell. Me."

"Okay. Okay." I said still can't help myself from smiling. "I was about to ask you on a date with the help of some few people."

"Few people? Dude, you ask half of the guys on your team." She said. "You ask for my family too, didn't you?"

I nodded. "This was your mom's idea."

"No wonder, she's a bit cheesy." She commented and looked on the doorway heading outside sighing.

"So, let's go?"

"I'm starting to feel embarrassed and bad for people who are waiting outside, expecting that I'll be surprised."

"Don't be." I said holding her hands because I definitely know she's starting to feel anxious at this point. "Besides, I haven't heard your answer yet anyway. So come on."

I dragged Jade and decided not to cover her eyes because I already spoiled it anyway. When we're about to reach the patio she started chuckling when I looked at her, she's covering her mouth looking at the massive windows overlooking the people outside waiting for us.

"What you guys did was such an epic fail." She commented.

"Shut up, pretend that you're surprised." I said smiling opening the door for her.
