« Wake up Eli you were sleeping all the day without eating"

"I am not hungry Hailey just let me rest; I can forget everything only when I sleep"

"But don't forget you are pregnant and the little life inside you need food look at you, you seem so weak"

"I feel like I am dying Hailey, what this happened to me?"

"Don't say that sweetie you have a thousand of reason to live and the first one is you and your baby"

"How will I do without him? I can't I can't" I cried

"Of course you can and I am here I will support you and help you, ssshhh don't spend your tears for someone who don't deserve them"

Hailey hugged me and she got out me of bed to the kitchen.

I was eating when my phone rang

"Hello Mrs Elissa Robertson"

"Yes who is speaking?"

"I am David Richards; Mr Robertson lawyer"

I felt my heart jump from its place and I held my breath. Hailey noticed my discomfort and looked at me with questioned eyes.

"Mrs Robertson are you still here?

"Ye... yes I am listening"

"I call to inform you Mr Robertson asked for divorce so could you come Friday at 10am to sign the divorce papers?"

"Adrian asked for divorce already?" I asked him shocked

"Yes Mrs Robertson like I said we wait for you Friday is it ok with you"

After a moment I replied

"Yes I will be there"

"Thank you Mrs Robertson I will send you the address of the cabinet"

He hung up leaving me stunned. I dropped the phone my hands can no longer hold it.

Hailey hugged me and tried to calm me. I couldn't believe my ears how he can do this to me, divorce me so quickly. He forgot all our memories, good times and our love. Or maybe he didn't love me like I do after all. Adrian told me his lawyer will contact me but I thought he was bluffing. The lawyer's call is like a slap for me, it woke me up from a dream I was living and brought me back to reality.

So here I am in front of the building. It's 9.50 am and I couldn't enter yet but I have to. I must to be brave; he wants divorce I will give it to him.

I took the elevator and entered to the lawyer's office I found the secretary I smiled to her and said

"Hello I am Elissa Robertson and I have an appointment with Mr Richards"

"Yes Mrs Robertson they are waiting for you" She smiled and guided me to a room she knocked and opened the door for me. He was here, Adrian sitting and wearing a black tuxedo with a black tie handsome like always. I diverted my eyes from him when I heard the other man speaking and coming towards me

"Good morning, I am David Richards we were waiting for you take a sit please"

"Good morning" I shuttered, Adrian didn't respond nor looked at me his eyes fixed on his phone

"So let's begin, we are here today to proceed the divorce between Mr Adrian Robertson and Ms Elissa Garner. I prepared the papers according to Mr Robertson's requests so I will ask you Ms Garner to read this" Mr Richards said giving me the papers.

Honestly I didn't read anything unable to concentrate but I didn't say it and returned them to him.

After a moment the lawyer said

"Like you see Ms Garner you will have nothing from Mr Robertson wealth and you don't have any rights on his money, his company or different properties, is it right Mr Robertson?"

I looked at Adrian and for the first time he did the same and said bitterly

"Yes I will give her nothing"

I just put my head down, I didn't want him to see my hurt.

"Ok and you Ms Garner do you have any demands?"

"Yes, actually I would want something" I replied and saw Adrian look up and smirk. He probably thought I am going to ask for his money.

"What do you want Ms Garner?"

"Actually if this is possible I would like the photo albums we made"

Adrian stared at me with surprised regard and his lawyer asked him if it is ok with him he said

"Ok I will give them to her I was going to throw them away anyway"

I looked at my intertwined fingers and tried to stop my tears.

"Do you want to add something else" Mr Richards asked, I just shake my head.

"In this case we can sign. Mr Robertson are you ready?"

"Of course let's end this as soon as possible" Adrian said and signed the papers without hesitation

Mr Richards lend me the papers I looked at them and to Adrian maybe I could find some regrets or emotions in his eyes but nothing he was staring at me with coldness so with shaking hands I signed them. I thought my nightmare was finished but Mr Richards came out another document.

"Ms Garner I have known that you are pregnant?" The lawyer asked

I stared at him with widened eyes and said "Why are you asking?"

"Excuse me Ms Garner I know this is a very personal question but I need an answer"

I nodded by lowering my head.

"In this case I will ask you to sign this document"

"What is this?" I narrowed my eyes

"Huum Mr Robertson doesn't recognize your child and he wants to be sure you won't ask nothing from him in the future" He said embarrassed.

I was shocked for a few moments and I didn't realize my tears were flowing. I looked at Adrian unable to believe his cruelty. I felt humiliated and belittled, I wiped my tears forcefully and grabbed the document and signed it with rage and asked a copy of this document, after the lawyer gave me the copy I stand up.

"Can I go now?"I asked

"Yes Ms Garner and you can come back tomorrow to get the photo album. What time Mr Robertson will you bring it?"

"11 am is ok for me" Adrian replied

"I will be here at 11 am then" I said by getting up. I stayed for a second looking at Adrian straight headed to the door I stopped when I hear Adrian's voice

"Stop"

I turned towards him, maybe he regretted he don't want me to go, I looked at him with hope

"Give me the ring, it's expensive you don't deserve it" he said

I gave it to him I don't want it anyway then I left slamming the door.
