He lunged at me before I could recall what I had learned from any of my fighting lessons. This body was new to me, I had never experience a fight in my wolf form.

I winced when he clawed at me and I felt my arm prick. Damn, that hurt!

"Get up Serena!" I heard Mathew's thoughts as Ben kept clawing at me.

I growled and with all the strength I had left, I pushed Ben as hard as I could. His body crashed against the trees, meters away from us. I was impressed. Quickly I stood up on my paws again ready to confront him once more. I tried everything, but as much as I fought, Ben also hurted me. And I could feel it, the pain taking over my body as I gave it all, but I couldn't surrender.

Ben threw me through the air and I landed on a branch which plunged into my skin. I growled in pain and tried to stand again as I saw him coming. I pushed myself up but it was useless, it hurt too much.

Ben's wolf walked slowly towards me. I could hear Mathew in the background shouting for me, but I was focused in Ben. I needed to do something. I remembered the time when Liam was about to kill Mathew and I used my power as leader of the Pack in him to stop him. I had to do something similar to what I'd done that time. I shook my head, as everything was starting to become blurry.

The wolf looked at me and growled, showing me he had won, but I was far from giving up.

Ben turned around and started making his way towards Mathew, Liam and my father. He lunged at them and Liam, as Beta, tried to stop him but he was pushed as hard as I had been. Liam whined and stayed on the ground. When my father tried to stop him as well, Ben didn't take less than some seconds to put him on the ground as well.

"Serena, get out of here." Mathew mind-linked me, and I knew he was saying goodbye. Ben was about to broke our agreement.

I needed to shift back into my human form. I needed the control.

Mathew's and Ben's wolf started to fight. Growls, teeth and strength were all I could see.

I closed my eyes trying to focus on the shift. I took a deep breath and focus harder.

Shift, our mate need us. Shift, shift..

The familiar heat took over my body and I shifted back. "Mathew!" I gasped when he tripped and Ben took that moment to go for his neck, one of our weak spots.

That's when I saw my father's wolf collide into Ben's, making both roll deeper into the woods. My eyes wandered to Matt. He had some wounds but he was okay. I walked to him as he shifted into his human form.

"Matt.."

"Serena, go! I need to finish this." He ordered.

"No! You are hurt, you..."

A moan in pain caught our attention and I saw my father's wolf coming into view. He was barely holding it together, before he collapsed on the floor and I ran to him.

"Dad!" I shouted, when I reached him. His wolf shifted back and I noticed the huge gash on his chest and abdomen. He was loosing too much blood. "You are gonna be okay." I sobbed, and cradled his face.

"I'll make sure Ben doesn't get away!" Matt said but my father's voice stopped him.

"I took care of him, he's dead."

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I pressed on my father's wound. Mathew knelt next to me. "We'll get help Dad. I promise."

"Serena...don't." He whispered. "This is what I was destined for. You can not change it."

"NO! NO! NO! This was not supposed to happen. You are not supposed to die, you are my father. My only family." I cried. I was angry, sad and desperate.

"No, you have a family now. And I'm sorry that just now I understand.. your love for him. When I saw you ..." He coughed. "When you decided to give up your life for his, you reminded me of your mother. Of the love we had."

"Dad..."

"You are going to be okay Serena, you-u have someone to take care of you no-ow. Ple-ease take-e care of her.."

Matt nodded and placed his arms on my father's head, showing him respect. "I will, thank you sir...for saving my life."

"Sere-na-a, I l-ove you."

"Me too dad, so much." I whispered before I cried as he gave his last breath.
