Never in a million years, had I expected to be in this kind of situation. I felt trapped and scared. My biggest fear was coming true and there wasn't much I could do.
My father hadn't moved an inch as we all stared at each other, even Mathew's tight hold on me hadn't changed
"Father." I muttered breaking the uncomfortable silence that had settled around the room.
"Serena, step away from the intruder." He ordered completely ignoring me.
I tensed up the moment I heard his words and I knew Mathew had too, because his body trembled. I could feel him getting ready, his wolf was preparing for any possible threat.
"I can't do that." I replied back.
For a second my father seemed surprised by my attitude, but quickly turned into the Alpha I knew. He looked at Ben and everything happened so fast I didn't even have time to react.
Ben pulled me out of Mathew's grasp and held me so tight by my ribs, I almost whimpered in pain. The guards started fighting Mathew, trashing everything around my room. I didn't think there would be anything left of it anymore by the time they were finished.
"Ben, let me go!" I said trying to free myself from him, pushing and pulling, doing anything to set free.
Mathew had the two guards on the floor in minutes and walked to where Ben and I were. "Let her go."
Ben grinned and only held me tighter, making me gasp in pain. This time his hold strong enough to hurt. "Agh!" I cried.
Mathew saw red and went for Ben's throat. His wolf clearly pissed and what he had done and I was certain this time he was ready to kill him.

I turned to Liam and my father, who watched the scene with tranquility. "Liam, please help me! You have to stop him." I pleaded and the way he looked at me, let me know he couldn't do anything. His Alpha was right next to him, and he wouldn't disobeyed him. Not even for me, not like this.
"Dad, please! Don't do this!" I begged once more, Mathew had to stop. I needed him to go away, scape this place before anything else happened. "Make him stop!"
" I will." He answered surprising me. He made his way toward them and that's when I knew it was too late. He threw Ben into the other side of the room with a single push and taking advantage of Mathew's distraction, he bit him.
Mathew whimpered and my heart stopped. Oh no! "Stop it!" I screamed, running to Matt.
I pushed my Dad away and caught Mathew in my arms as he stumbled. The bite of my Alpha, the venom, quickly making effect.
"Mathew, shh... It's gonna be okay." I whispered as I cradled his face, trying to examine the bite. It looked deep enough to cause damage. I grazed his cheek as he agonized in pain. Alpha bites were dangerous and I couldn't believe my father had bitten him.
"Please Dad, I'm begging you. Don't. Do. This." I pleaded. "Help him." Tears started running down my cheeks as I sobbed for his help.
My dad stared at me for too long, with no answer. "Liam, take him to the dungeon. The bite will weaken him enough and tomorrow he will pay the price for trespassing out territory."
No! No! No! This couldn't be happening. If my dad punished him, he would be dead by tomorrow. "No, please!" I held Mathew tighter in my arms when I saw Liam making his way towards me. "Stop right there Liam! I won't let you do it! Don't come any closer!"

He gave me a look that clearly said he was sorry for doing it and ignoring my plead, he took Mathew out of my reach.
"Father, please..." I plead one last time.
"You." He pointed at Ben that was at the other side of the room, barely awake. "Come with me and Serena, you'll stay here until I said so. At least until I take care of this lowlife." He gestured Mathew. "Watch her." He told the guards left, before heading towards the door.
My wolf cried..
"Father..."
"Don't ''father'' me any longer Serena, you have other responsibilities. It's tim for you to grow up."
He was out of my sight along with Liam and Mathew, leaving me alone, scared and preoccupied. I needed to do something, they couldn't take Mathew away from me. Not when I had just taken him back, not when I had already made him a promise. That I would take care of him and his family, and wouldn't allow anyone, not even my father to hurt them. And I would fulfill that oath.

I knocked on Leila's house and it opened showing me a very surprised Leila.
"Oh my God Serena, are you okay?" She asked with a frown. I supposed I looked terrible. I had been crying for the past hour wondering what I could do to save Mathew from my fathers order.
"May I come in?"
She nodded and let me in. "Sure. Come in."
We went to her room and sat on her bed. I looked around and memories flooded my mind. Only a few months ago, we spent here all day talking and hanging around like normal people.
"What happened to you? The day of the ceremony you disappeared and.."
"I need you help." I interrupted her, trying not to be so rude.
"What is it?"
"I.. What I am about to ask is.. it is a huge sacrifice Lei, but I don't know who else can help me. My dad.." I teared up again. "He has him Lei and I don't know what to do."
"Your dad has who? I don't understand." She whispered clearly confused about what was going on.
"Do you remember the night at the bonfire we talked about true mates?" She nodded and I continued. "Well, I found him."
"That's amazing. Who is him?"
"That's the problem. He is the Alpha of another pack and I've been meeting him in secret for the past couple of months."
"Oh sh.."
"I know. Everything was perfect but tonight it all changed. My dad took him prisoner and bit him."
"The poison!" She exclaimed with worry.
"Mathew is at the dungeons, but he doesn't have much time left. My dad will kill him tomorrow. at the trail."
"And what are you going to do?"
I held my head between my hands trying to calm down. I needed a fresh mind in order to come up with a plan of what I was about to do.
"I can't let him die Leila, I love him." I said. "I'm going to save him... and I'll need your help."
I looked at her and the moment she smiled and nodded, I threw myself in her arms. "Thank you so much."
"Don't worry Serena, we'll figure something out."
And I hoped we would..
