I saw Manik Ji the moment I came out of the room and I went to greet him. He was holding flowers and I don't know how and why I asked him if they were for me and the very next moment I saw his girlfriend.

I felt embarrassed and jealous as he was standing there in front of her room waiting for her to open the door and he had brought the flowers for her.

I had almost forgotten about her being there when I saw him standing there with flowers in his hands.

How could I be so stupid? Why would he bring flowers for me, when he has made it more than clear to me many times that I was just his ward, nothing else?

I just told him that I was going to college but he said I can't go alone because of a kidnapping attempt on me.

I nodded and came downstairs and went to the kitchen to offer my help as there were many guests at home.

Maharaj Ji insisted I go out and rest as I had pain in my foot. I was coming out when I saw him coming downstairs whistling a famous romantic song.

He looked very happy and had a spring in his feet today. It seemed he was really very happy to be with her. It was good to see him smiling like that but I felt a pang of jealousy as well. I shook my head and went to the kitchen again.

The huge tables were set beautifully with tempting dishes.
