《The Wedding In Miami》From one ex to another

She got all awkward after that and left and I've been sitting here thinking about it for ten minutes.
Shit.
I stood up, throwing the covers off of myself before freshening up. I glanced at the time and it was already time for breakfast so I just threw on a random shirt and went downstairs. In my pajamas. Much to my surprise, almost everyone was in their pajamas too. I guess it's that kinda day then.
I was in line for the buffet when a familiar voice caught my ears.
"Where were you last night? I knocked on your door like a hundred times, you never answered." It was Zoey.
"I was asleep." And that was Emma. Lying.
"I called you, texted, banged on your door," Zoey huffed.
"Okay, you didn't bang on the door," Emma scoffed.
"I knocked pretty hard. It was an emergency and you weren't there," Zo huffed.
"What emergency?" she asked in confusion.
I had slowed down to keep my ears in on their conversation.
"Something happened last night when I was out with Landon," Zoey sighed.
What has this little shit not told me?
"Hey, could you please move up?" Emma tapped my shoulder lightly.
Does she know it's me?
I moved up a little then slowed down again.
"He asked me out, Emma. And I completely freaked out," Zoey whisper-yelled.
"Did you freak out in your head or did he know you were freaking out?" Emma asked while grabbing a chocolate muffin.
She loves chocolate muffins.
"Of course, he doesn't know I freaked out!" Zoey groaned.
"What did you say to him? Yes, no, or you need time?" Emma questioned.
"I said yes," she replied.
"Then you're all good to go, right? When is he taking you out?" Emma asked.
"Tonight. To dinner."
I see that's a lot he didn't tell me.
"Go talk to him, he's right there, sorry," Emma said when she bumped into me. Zoey left and went to go talk to Landon while I stood there. "Okay, could you please move up?" she huffed, a little more agitated now. "Look, I really want the hash browns before they're out, please?" she clicked her tongue in frustration.
I turned around with amusement painted all over my face and she stumbled back.
"You," she huffed.
"Me," I grinned.
"Get out of my way, Nick," she rolled her eyes while walking past me, getting her hash browns and heading to her table.
I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back into the line, keeping her in front of me. "What do you want from me, Nick?" she sighed in defeat.
"Just the answer to my question that you never gave me," I shrugged.

"What question?" she asked in confusion, glancing at me.
"Do you like him?" I questioned while pointing at Liam.
"You never told me why you need to know. What decision are you trying to make?" she arched an eyebrow at me.
"An important one," I gave her a pointed look.
"He's nice, I like him," she shrugged.
"Like you liked me?" I questioned.
She rolled her eyes, "Sure, why not?" she shrugged again.
"No, that's not how this works, babe. You like him or you don't?" I questioned.
"I'm working on it," she smirked before walking away and sitting with Liam.
Asshole.
-----
"Well, what about these, Nick?" my mom asked.
Somehow, William and I got stuck with the women and were now the judges of every single item.
"Where the hell is Landon?" I asked while looking around.
"Nick?" my mom asked.
"Yes, mom?" I sighed, resting my elbow on her shoulder.
"Aren't these pretty?" she asked while holding up earrings to her ears.
"The best, mom," I said while nodding.
"You've said that for every item I've shown you," she rolled her eyes.
"What can I say, mom? I'm not a stylist," I shrugged. "William!" Madeline called him over.
Emma's over there.
"I'm gonna go, mom," I kissed her cheek before going over with Liam.
"Yeah?" he asked Madeline.
So here's where Landon's been. With the normal women. And Zoey of course.
"We are going dress shopping, we need your help," Madeline tapped his shoulder.
"Dress shopping? You brought like fifty dresses?" Will questioned.
"Don't ask questions. We model, you decide and suggest, okay?" she asked.
"Right," he said slowly.
"Great. You help me, Landon helps Zoey, and whose help would you like, Emma?"
We all turned to her.
"Nobody's," she shrugged while looking through some dresses.
"A second opinion never hurts. Nick, you help her," Madeline shrugged.
"What?" we asked in sync.
"It's not much. Just nod when you like a dress on her and shake your head if you don't. You two don't even have to talk, have fun!" Madeline laughed before disappearing between clothes with Will.
"Wait I-" Emma began talking to Zoey but she was also leaving with Landon.
I looked at the few dresses in her hand while sighing in defeat, "I can carry those for you if you want," I shrugged. I used to carry shopping bags for her. She's not much of a shopper so it was never a task.
"Why not? Make yourself useful," she shrugged, handing them over to me.
An hour.
We looked around this entire freaking place for an hour. Top floor and bottom. She's very picky. Nothing I don't know.

She looked at both directions, confused about where to go.
"Changing rooms are over here," I grabbed her wrist.
"Liam is over there. I can take his help," she shrugged knowingly.
"Nice try," I rolled my eyes before pulling her towards the changing rooms. "One down, billion to go," I handed her the first dress and pushed her into the room.
She closed the curtain and came back out moments later in the turquoise dress.
"Spin," I moved my finger around. "Show me the back," I nodded.
"Nick," she gave me a pointed look.
"I am a stylist now, show me," I urged.
She sighed in defeat and pulled her hair up, showing me the back of the dress.
"It's all right, number two," I tossed it at her.
She barely caught it and glared at me before going back inside. This one's better. "Oh, I like that one," I nodded.
"Really?" she asked while looking at herself in the mirror. It's a sundress. I think. It's a warm mustard color and it's looking amazing on her. That's a color I thought looked ugly on everyone. I guess not.
"Trust me," I nodded while putting my phone in my pocket.
"Trust you?" she scoffed.
Ouch.
"Take my advice. From one ex to another. You look hot," I winked.
"Good to know," she smoothed it out before taking the next dress and going back in.
"Next," I shook my head.
"Next."
"This one?" she asked.
"You look good in that one, buy it," I nodded.
She shook her head while laughing. "This one?" she came out and grabbed a hat off one of the mannequins, putting it on and spinning around, curtseying at the end.
"Definite no," I laughed.
"Why?" she looked at me wide-eyed. "Is the hat?" she took it off.
"No, that dress is like fuschia," I looked at it.
"Are you saying I don't look good in it?" she arched an eyebrow at me.
"Somehow you do. But still no. Next!"
"Nope."
"Too blue?" she asked.
"Yup," I nodded.
"How about this one?" she asked.
"I didn't think you're into pink," I checked her out. She looks hot.
"Yes or no?" she asked.
"Yes," I nodded while looking at her.
She rolled her eyes and grabbed the next dress. "Second last one!" she sang.
Finally.
"Navy blue looks good on you," I stood up while stretching.
"Really? I don't know," she looked in the mirror, her back turning to me.
I hung the last dress up in the changing room while standing behind her. "See, with your hair up," I grabbed her hair and gathered it, holding up. "With those heels of yours," I mumbled while stepping closer to her, my chest pressing into her back.
"What heels?" she asked in confusion.
"The black ones. The ones I liked," I mumbled.
"With this? I don't know, I feel kinda fat," she analyzed herself.
No point flirting with her when she's trying on clothes.
"You don't look fat, you look stunning. It hugs in the right places, buy it," I nodded before sitting back down. "The last one, let's go," I handed it to her.
She's taking a lot longer. "Nick, I'm not coming out in this one. I'm not buying it," she said while peeking her head out, "I'm changing back into my clothes."
I stood up, "No, let me see it at least, come on, I've been giving honest feedback," I gave her a pointed look.
"It shows a lot, I don't like it," she said.
"Emma, let me see," I huffed.
"No," she groaned.
I looked around before pulling the curtain open and going inside.
She gasped while stumbling back, leaning against the wall. "Are you crazy? You scared the shit out of me, you could have told me you're coming in," she rolled her eyes, "People are gonna think you're a perv," she gave me a pointed look.
"I'll be a perv for you," I shrugged while looking at the dress.
"You're disgusting," she chuckled.
"You're not gonna buy that?" I asked as we looked at each other through the mirror.
"No. It's backless, and it shows too much cleavage," she shook her head while adjusting the dress. It's surprising how she's comfortable with me right now. When there's no one else here when we both are forgetting the past.
"You don't have cleavage to show," I shrugged nonchalantly.
"Asshole," she smacked my cheek lightly while laughing.
"I'm kidding, Emma," I laughed, "You have cleavage to show, I see that. I think you should buy it. It doesn't show too much, it shows the perfect amount. You look amazing in it."
She smoothed it out and looked at herself, "Really?" she mumbled more to herself before her eyes locked with mine in the mirror.
"If you don't buy that for yourself I will buy it for you," I gave her a pointed look.
"Okay, I trust your choices. In dresses at least. Thank you, buh-bye," she said while pushing me out and closing the curtain.
She should trust my choices in everything.
I chose her after all.
