《The Wedding In Miami》Perfect plan

Get out of lunch, walk around town for a little while, and go back to the hotel. Completely ignore Nick Heartwell.

That was the plan. The perfect plan. But I guess everyone else had other plans.

On our walk around the place, Liam decided we should go to a bar. It's the middle of the day and he wants to go to the bar.

What is wrong with people?

"Are you going?" Zoey asked me skeptically.

"No. No, I am not going to the bar at two-thirty pm. What the hell? Who drinks in the middle of the day, Zoey? I'm not going," I huffed, shaking my head. I think I'm just still a little pressed from the last time I went to a bar here. I ended up with Nick in my hotel room and that is so not what I need.

"Sorry guys, we're not going," Zoey and I sighed in sync.

"I don't really think we should drink right now," Landon said.

We turned to Nick but he wasn't there. He was already in the car. "What?" he asked.

"Then we're definitely going after dinner," Liam shrugged, getting into the car.

Landon went and sat in the middle and as expected, Zoey sat beside him. Leaving me to sit with Nick.

"Buckle up," he sighed while backing the car from the parking spot.

I rolled my eyes while pulling my seatbelt. Well, let's see where tonight goes.

-----

I sprayed perfume all over myself before pulling on my wedges since I refused to wear heels. I only brought one pair of heels and those are specifically for the wedding. We're currently going to the bar.

The one downstairs because nobody is willing to drive.

I didn't get all fancy and decked up, just threw on a little dress and some golden wedges. There were a bunch of knocks at my door while I pulled on the other shoe. "I'm coming!" I stood up, quickly slipping it on before getting the door. It was Nick.

"Everyone else is downstairs, let's go!" he said, grabbing my hand.

I barely managed to grab my keys and lock the door. "Wait my phone!" I halted.

"You don't need it, you'll live without it for one night," he pulled me into the elevator.

We entered the bar and no one was here.

"I thought you said they were already here?" I looked at him in confusion.

"That's what Landon told me," he grabbed his phone and began texting him. "They're coming," he sighed while walking over to the bar and sitting down. "Can I get four shots please?" he asked. He doesn't normally drink but when he does, it's bad.

"You're drinking now?" I asked while sitting next to him, leaving one stool in between.

"I ordered two for you," he gave me a pointed look.

"Um- I'm not really drinking that hard tonight, can I get a vodka and coke, please?" I asked the bartender.

He handed Nick the four shots he asked for then handed me my vodka and coke.

"More for me," he shrugged, downing one shot after the other before grabbing the lime and sucking on it. "Oh shit," he clicked his tongue. "Four more," he called out.

"Can you hold that," I said to the bartender quickly. "At least wait for the others before your high kicks in," I huffed.

He rolled his eyes but waited nonetheless. Moments later, the others walked in and Nick downed his four shots as soon as they stepped in.

"Hey," Zoey walked over to me, sitting beside me.

"Hey," I sighed.

"Whoa, young sir is drinking tonight?" Landon asked while sitting next to Zoey.

"I guess so," I shrugged, "Where's Liam?" I asked in confusion.

"I don't know," Landon shrugged.

Nick's phone dinged and everyone turned to him. "Liam's not coming. He went out with some other lovely cousins of ours," he said before asking for four more shots.

"How many of those has he had?" Landon asked me.

"Eight."

He shook his head in response before falling into conversation with Zoey. I sipped my coke and kept an eye on Nick. He's had twelve shots and we've been here like thirty minutes. He began asking for four more but I took two away from him.

"So you are drinking?" he asked.

"Two shots," I shrugged, downing them. Before he could have his, I took them too. "And two for them," I slid them over to Landon and Zoey. "No more for him, please," I said to the bartender while grabbing a lime. That burned my throat like crazy. It's hitting harder than it did last time.

"One more!" he called out, slurring over his words.

Sixteen shots.

I think that's more alcohol than he's had all year.

"How does someone take that much?" I mumbled to myself. "All right, I said no more for him, okay?" I snapped at the bartender.

He nodded before serving some other people that were here.

Nick looked around before his eyes settled on my drink.

"Nick-"

Too late.

He finished that too.

"Let's go shwimming!" he exclaimed while standing up, almost falling over.

"Nick," I sat him back down, "That's enough for you," I huffed.

"Aw, look at them!" he said loudly while looking at Landon and Zo. They were about to kiss.

"Jesus Christ, maybe you guys could like, go for a walk? I'll take him up to his room," I huffed while grabbing his hand and slowly pulling him up. An hour. We lasted an hour here. Good enough.

"You sure you don't need help?" Landon asked.

"I'll manage," I shrugged as he stood up. Landon and Zoey left and I began ushering Nick to the elevator. "Nick, come on! We're almost there," I tugged at his hand.

He stumbled but fell into the elevator eventually.

I huffed, pressing the button and leaning against the wall. "Nick, listen to me," I crouched down when I noticed he had melted onto the floor. "It's almost midnight, all your uncles, aunts, grandparents, everybody is asleep. You will be as quiet as possible and cooperate, do you hear me?" I asked as we approached our floor.

"Okay, Emma," he whispered while nodding. If he drinks slowly, he's fine, he has a good capacity for alcohol but when you down sixteen shots in an hour, you're bound to end up looney.

The elevator opened and I held my hand out. He grabbed my hand and the bar on the elevator walls before pulling himself up and shushing himself. I rolled my eyes while pulling him along with me. "Shake it off, shake it off, I-I-I, I shake it off," he began bobbing his head and whispering the lyrics not-so-quietly.

"Nick shut the fuck up," I whispered, turning around to face him.

He pressed his fingers against his lips while going a little cross-eyed.

I rolled my eyes and picked up my pace, stopping when we reached our rooms. "Where are your keys?" I asked.

"My boobies?" he looked at me wide-eyed.

"Your keys, Nick!" I smacked his chest.

He rubbed the spot where I smacked him before pulling his keys out of his back pocket. I opened his door, pushing him inside quickly, locking the door behind me as I stepped in. He was already knocking his shoes off and getting into bed.

"No, no, no, you have to get a little sober, you can't be sleeping as you sing Shake it off, Nick," I grabbed the water bottle and sat down beside him. I quickly opened it and handed him the bottle.

He drank, spilling a fair amount onto his shirt. He whined while looking at his shirt, trying to wipe the stain away. "I ruined it," he cried before throwing it off his head and onto the floor.

"Great," I mumbled while putting the bottle on his nightstand. "I'm gonna leave Advil here, take it in the morning first thing when you wake up. You suck at dealing with hangovers so I'm gonna leave a note. Nick," I shook him a little because he was just staring at me and it was a little freaky.

"I'm just looking at you," he slurred, shrugging lightly.

"Why are you looking at me?" I asked in confusion while writing down a note to remind him to take the Advil.

"Because I don't get the chance to anymore," he mumbled.

I looked up at him before setting the notepad aside. "I'll see you at breakfast, Nick," I huffed while standing up. Before I could go anywhere, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me down on top of me. "Nick," I whisper-yelled, trying to get off of him but he had my legs locked with his.

"I miss you, Emma," he mumbled while tucking my hair behind my ear.

"You're drunk. Everybody misses their ex when they're drunk," I tried getting off but he wasn't having it.

He seemed very comfortable with me lying on top of him. "I miss you a lot," he slurred.

I miss you too.

"I had a perfect plan, then I met you here and it's all ruined," he mumbled.

What plan?

His phone dinged on the nightstand.

'Bayside Marketplace tomorrow after lunch. Don't be late for it- William'
