《The Wedding In Miami》Cousin's wedding?

"All right, Mads, seriously. This is the last dress I'm trying, I can't do this anymore," I groaned, stepping out of the changing room for the billionth time.

Twelve.

I have tried on twelve dresses and she hasn't liked one. She doesn't want her bridesmaids wearing the same dress. It's cringey. So she's having all of us wear different colors but made of silk. Her best friend, Grace, is wearing a blue one, and her other bridesmaid, Aubrey, is wearing a rose gold one.

"Try this one, here," she tossed it to me. It hit me in the face.

"But you didn't even look at this one," I whined while looking at myself in the mirror.

"Green isn't your color, sweetheart, go try the red," she waved her hand at me while sitting down.

I huffed, went into the changing room and tried it on. It's a cycle now. Wear, show, groan, strip, repeat. I slipped into the red dress, pulling the thin straps over my shoulder. "Okay, here we go," I sighed while stepping out, handing the previous dress to the lady who runs the place.

I think she was getting sick of us too.

Madeline gasped, "That's it, that's the one! Okay, can we take that one, please?" she asked the lady almost as soon as I stepped out of the room.

"Are you serious?" I deadpanned, "Let me look at myself, jeez," I stood in front of the mirror and analyzed myself.

It was a stunning dress like many others here but there was something special about it. It's so simple and classy. I love it.

"All right, I can get out of it," I shrugged before going and changing back into my gym shorts and a t-shirt I found. "All right," I stepped back out and found her paying for the dress. "Oh, Madeline, don't. Please, let me pay for it. You guys are already paying for the flight and the hotel," I sighed.

"Shut up," she smacked my arm before taking the dress from the bag and handing it to me. "The hotel is seventy percent off! Didn't I tell you? William's dad and his uncle own the hotel so everyone coming to the wedding is getting a seventy percent discount," she said as we walked out and got into her car.

"What about the flight?" I questioned.

"You'll see," she shrugged.

What's that supposed to mean? There's only one way to fly from Santa Monica to Miami.

-----

I was tired, sleepy, and exhausted as we currently left for our flight. It's six am.

Nobody talk to me.

I decided to rest my eyes until we got there and opened them to chaos.

"Come on, you idiot!" Zoey's head popped up and pulled me out.

"Jesus, chill out," I whined while grabbing my backpack and taking the iced tea that she handed me.

She knows me so well, she even got me Starbucks.

"This doesn't look like the normal airport, Zo," I sighed while fixing my bag over my shoulder.

"Well tell me this you dumbass, does that look like a normal flight?" she looked at the airplane in front of me and my jaw dropped to the fucking ground.

"This isn't a flight, it's a private jet. Who the fuck is Mads marrying?" I asked as we trudged towards the plane, following everyone else.

"This isn't William's or his dad's. This is his uncle's. The family of the groom is coming in their private jet," Zoey huffed as we got in and sat down.

This is heaven in a plane.

"Jeez, Mads. I didn't know you were marrying someone so rich," I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, I didn't either," she mumbled while sitting down in front of us.

"Hasn't she known him since high school?" I questioned in confusion.

"I don't think eight years is long enough to learn that someone has a private jet," Zoey gaped around.

I doubt we'll ever get over the shock of being in a private jet.

After five long, comfortable, unexpectedly delightful hours, we landed in Miami. "Hey," I smacked Zoey's arm. She's knocked out. "Zoey, Landon's here, get up," I lied and she shot up. "Got you, we're here, come on, let's go," I laughed while walking past her while she slapped my arm. "Ow," I laughed as we got off.

This truly feels like a scene from a movie. We're getting off a private jet, the groom's family is there to welcome us all. This is insane.

William's up first. "Hey, Emma," he nodded, pulling me into a brief hug.

"Hey, Will," I nodded, moving along the line.

If I would have known that we are meeting the entire family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents included, then I wouldn't have worn a hoodie and sweats. "Hello," I nodded at Will's grandma. "Hi," I nodded at one of his aunts. "Hello," then an uncle. "Hey, there," I waved at one of his cousin sisters.

Boy, are these families huge. William's is and so is Madeline's, which is why this is a long line of people greeting and being greeted.

"Hi," a little boy tugged at my sleeve.

"Hey, there," I stepped aside so the others could keep moving and kneeled down. "What's your name?" I asked while straightening his shirt out for him.

He looked about the age of three-four. "Elijah," he said shyly.

"Hi, Elijah," I grinned, "I'm Emma," I put my hand out. "Nice to meet you," I smiled as he shook my hand.

I love little kids.

"Hi, Emma," he stumbled over his words a little. "Okay, bye, Emma," he waved before running off and hiding behind someone's legs.

I laughed while standing up, meeting Zoey in the line. "That was adorable," she chuckled.

"I just fell in love, he is the cutest child I have ever seen," I gushed. "Hello, nice to meet you," I nodded at someone absentmindedly.

"Hey, Emma," he said and I stopped walking. How does he know who I am? Why don't I know who he is?

Zoey crashed into me before we both stepped aside, letting the others continue.

"Liam?" I asked in disbelief.

This is Liam. William's cousin Liam. The same cousin who was a scrawny kid with no muscle and glasses.

"Hey," he chuckled.

"Summer worked wonders for you then," Zoey nodded, "We'll see you around," she pulled me back into the line that we were finally reaching the end of.

"Finally," I sighed. "Hi," I mumbled while looking down and my shoes that were coming undone. I should probably tie those laces. "Excuse me," I stepped away, without actually greeting the last person and kneeled down to tie my laces.

While I was doing that, someone kneeled in front of me, tying my laces for me. "Hey, Em," he smirked.

I fell. I quite literally fell. I toppled over right on my ass.

"Can I help you up?" he smirked as he stood up, holding his hand out for me to take.

I knew better.

I stood up on my own and dusted my hands. "W- what are you doing here?" I stuttered while he linked my arm in his and led us to the cars that were waiting to take us to the hotel.

"I'm the groomsman at my cousin's wedding. You?" he smirked at me.

Cousin's wedding?

"William is not your cousin," I mumbled.

"He is, it just never came up in conversation. He's actually my first," he said, halting and looking down.

"Nicky!" Elijah tugged on his pants.

"Elijah, have you said hello to our lovely guest?" he picked him up while continuing to walk with me while I was here having a panic attack in my head. If I was in Inside Out right now, they would all be there causing chaos in my head.

Elijah nodded while sucking his thumb and Nick pulled it out. "Let's say bye to her come on," he waved as we approached the car my parents and I were going in.

"She's leabing?" Elijah mumbled. I guess he's still confused between his v's and b's.

"Oh, we'll see her at the hotel, don't worry, say bye," he waved while looking at me.

"Bye, Emma," Elijah waved limply.

"Bye," I mumbled while my mom pulled me into the car.

"What is it? You've been standing outside the car for ages, who is it?" she poked her head out the window. "Holy, shit," she sighed.

"Mom!" I exclaimed, rolling up the window instantly while Nick laughed and got into a separate car, taking Elijah with him. "Why is Nick here?" my mom and I asked my dad in sync.

"Didn't I tell you, Lisa?" My dad turned to my mom.

"Um- no, David, you didn't!" she yelled.

"Quit yelling," he waved his hand dismissively.

This situation is so not dismissive.

"His dad is William's dad's younger brother," he shrugged.

"And you didn't think you should tell me that Nick is coming to this?" I asked through gritted teeth.

My dad loves Nick, he doesn't see why I don't. They really hit it off when they met. I don't know how he still likes him.

Maybe I should have told him Nick cheated.

Then I would have known that he's here for his cousin's wedding.
