《Sang Insane | ✔》Chapter Thirty Three

"Sang, I don't know what you were saying, but I think we would all like a translation of what the **** just happened," Says a dumbfounded Paprika.
I sigh.
I guess this happening sooner than I had hoped.
"I can control humans, not just animals. Basically, I was nervous about telling y'all, but Big Bear said I should tell you anywho."
"Ms.Sorenson, I am glad that you are telling us now, but you should be comfortable enough to come to us with anything," Mr. Blackbourne says seriously.
"Trouble, that's ****ing cool! Don't be scared of us!" Meanie shouts.
"Aggele mou, we would be lost without you. We would never get angry because you are powerful," Superman assures me in a rumbling voice.
"Arrow, you are incredible. If we ever overreact, then shame on us," Bow adds simply.
I blush at their compliments.
Maybe I was over thinking the situation.
"Well, we all better get going so we aren't late for school," Kota announces dejectedly.
I wrinkle my nose at the thought of going to school.
"Actually," Mr. Blackbourne says thoughtfully. "I believe the younger of us who are not required to teach should not attend school today."
"What?!" Luke shouts excitedly.
We all look at Mr.Blackbourne like he is crazy.
"You only attend because we are looking for recruits, but I believe we have th best candidate ever right here," Mr. Blackbourne explains looking straight at me.
Whaaaa?
"Oh, **** no! Sang Baby isn't joining the mafia!" North Star protests loudly.
Pug asks, "Why not? She is stronger than all of us in so many ways."
Prince spoke up, "It should be Princess's decision. Not ours."
"Skunk, would you be interested in joining the mafia at all?" Peep asks me.
My eyes grow wide.
The mafia?
"Absolutely!" I grin.
"Mechanic, are you sure?" Motor double checks.
"Yup! I think the mafia would be fun, especially if they are all like you! Although, the first thing I want to do, is right their strongest fighters," I add thoughtfully.
A fight with the strongest would show that I deserve to be there and that I am not to be messed with.
"Coffee Bean, you do realize that we are the strongest fighters?" Blend says with a raised eyebrow.
"What?!" I exclaim. "But y'all are weaklings!"
"Ms.Sorenson, that is only when compared to you. We are all exceptional fighters and members," Mr.Blackbourne lectures.
I roll my eyes as dramatically as possible.
"Well, then joining shouldn't be a problem. When do I join anyway?"
"Who said we all ****ing agree?" North Star mutters.
I give him an icy glare.
Quickly, Axel intervenes, saying, "Us teachers need to be going. You guys have fun and we will revisit this after school."
We all jog back inside and everyone races around getting ready and eating breakfast.
I eat slowly.
I have been up for a couple hours already so I am already ready. I will just need to get shoes on if we are going somewhere.
I head upstairs to Raven's room and open the window.
I clear my throat and start to sing.
It is a powerful song that I put my all into.
Animals come up to his room. Some come race through the door, some fly in, and some scurry up the wall and come in the window.
I direct them to clean everything up and a large eagle flaps its wings and helps fan the smell of the perfume out the window.

Soon enough, the room is returned to normal. Except for the keys on his computer.
What?
I need my fun!
I give each animal a hug and send them back. They all have important matters to get to and I don't want to stop them.
I turn around to leave and see all the boys staring at me open mouthed.
I throw my hands up in the air and exclaim exasperated, "Are we really doing this again?!"
They continue to look at me.
Finally, Marc defends them saying, "Coffee Bean, you can't expect us to pretend this is normal. You are exceptional, not normal. We can't help but stare in awe at you."
I blush deeply.
"Don't you boys have school today?!"
I flounce out of the room and downstairs to the game room as the older boys scramble to finish getting ready.
Dramatically, I fling myself at the couch.
...
...
Now what am I supposed to do?!
I'm bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored—OOOW!
I rub my butt where it hit the ground when I fell off the couch.
I'm in pain pain pain pain pain pain pain...
I roll my eyes and get a deck of cards out of one of the cabinets and start to play a single person card game that I made up when I was three.
"Yes!! The fairy queen beats the gnome!" I squeal.
In this game, the cards stand for other things because I rarely have access to a deck of cards, let alone a full one. This allows me to use just about anything to play.
I am about to conquer the salad with the potato/unicorn hybrid when Gabriel walks in.
"Hey, Trouble! Are you ready to go with us?" He asks.
I turn and look at him suspiciously.
"Where are we going?"
"Surprise," Is his only reply.
I heave a dramatic sigh and draw out my words, huffing, "Fine, Meanie."
What?
Being dramatic is like my number one skill.
I pop up from the couch, collect the cards, and stuff the cards in their box. I toss the cards in the cabinet and stride upstairs to the front door where I slip on my white converse.
Today, I am wearing grey jeans with a red t-shirt and my hair is in a bun.
For some reason, Meanie keeps staring at my hair with twitching fingers.
"Well, are we leaving or not?" I ask the boys.
"Just waiting for you, " North Star chuckles.
"Cupcake is riding with me!" Always shouts. He grabs my hand and we run to his small light blue car.
I giggle and hop in the passenger's seat.
Apparently, Luke knows where we are going because we immediately set off.
Soon we are driving around in a small neighborhood and Luke is muttering mean words and banging the dashboard with his fists.
Apparently, Luke does not know where we are going because we are currently lost.
I smack his shoulder to get his attention.
"Luke! Just call your brothers!" I instruct.
"What? No way!" Luke scoffs. "They would never let this down! Plus, my phone is dead, otherwise I would use the GPS."
I sigh.
"Star? Up for a job?' I offer hopefully.
"Luke, take a right here," I direct.
Twenty minutes later, we are back on the highway.
"Luke! Just tell me already so we don't get lost again!" I exclaim.

"No! I'm not gonna ruin the surprise!" Luke says.
"Well, how else are we going to get there?!"
"Hmm... How about... Umm... Ooh! I can get us there from the post office on Main street!" Luke perks up.
"People still use post offices?!" I ask incredulously.
Luke gives me a duh look.
"Yes, Cupcake. People use them all the time. Including myself. Now, take us there!" Luke orders in a goofy voice.
I giggle softly and, through Star, we are able to get there.
Luke finished the rest of the long drive and we pull up to a huge area like the biggest stadium I have ever seen. Not that I have seen many stadiums. At all.
I think my eyes fell off my face, they were open so far.
Luke laughs and we race to the door.
Obviously I won.
Seriously, why do these boys even bother?
I fling open the door and slowly walk in taking everything in.
I am in a well lit lobby with wood floors, grey walls, and a wooden desk with a man sitting at it. Pictures of cars litter all the walls.
The man, probably in his early twenties, looks up at me and stares.
Luke flies through the door, finally.
"I don't even know why I tried to beat you, Sang."
I smile and the man says, "Oh you're Sang? My name is Ryder Roswell. The other boys are already in with the cars. I just finished entering your information."
Ryder stands and leads us out a different door and we walk into a giant garage.
Immediately, a certain beautiful car stands out to me.
I am awestruck.
I squeal and run over to it.
My first instinct is to run my hands over the car to see if it is real, but I don't want to wake up if this is just a dream.
Ryder laughs, "I guess you found the car you want to drive."
"Drive?" I repeat stunned.
I get to drive this work of art?
North Star is actually going to let me?
"Well, what else would you do at a race track?"
"Surprise!" Luke announces giving me jazz hands.
"I get to drive it?!" I shout.
"Here are the keys. The boys are waiting at the start line. Drive safely and have fun, darling."
Quickly he goes over the rules of the track and a few things that are different about this car from the more normal ones. For example, this beauty has a hand brake it is a standard.
I snatch the keys from his hand, grab a helmet, and hop in as Luke gets into a sleek bright blue car.
I rev the engine and melt a little on the inside.
I think I just found the love of my life.
Getting the feel of the car, I take it out to where the others are lined up waiting.
Soon, we are off.
The track is oval shaped and soon I am in the middle of the pack.
The feel of the wind, the powerful engine, and the adrenaline rush makes me giddy.
I am not sure that if I have ever been happier than here.
Sarah helps me calculate the driving line and in no time, we are in the lead.
Once we get far enough ahead, I get to have fun with the turns. I drift through one and make a sharp hand brake turn on another.
On the twentieth lap, we near the finish line loads ahead of the boys. I decide to make this turn I saw on a world records thing. It was a parallel park where they drove straight at the two cars, spun in a circle, and perfectly parallel parked. Completely focused, I twist the wheel and park in between the comes at the end of the curve.
Bam.
I step out of the car and pull my helmet off and shake my head to get the hair to come out.
I walk over to Ryder who is standing there stunned and holding a timer in his hands.
"Oh, how was my time?" I ask.
Ryder continues to gape.
"That bad?" I say sadly.
"I-I think-k you j-j-jus-st-t broke the w-world r-rec-c-cord," He stutters.
Whaaa?
"The world record?" I repeat. "But it wasn't even that hard!"
Ryder stares at me.
"Will you marry me?"
I turn bright red and turn to focus on something else. Anything else.
At the track, the boys cross the line in a pack.
North Star races over with Brandon.
"Sang Baby! You have only drove once with me and Brandon! And you were terrible! How did you do that?!" North Star exclaims.
"Mechanic, I can't believe how fast you were! What was your time?" Brandon asks.
"She broke the world record," Ryder states.
By now, the others have caught up and they are all stunned.
Again.
"Who wants to go again?" I chirp.
This snaps them out of it and we spend about four hours racing.
For some reason, the boys keep glaring at Ryder. They really are strange. Maybe it is because they are mafia peoples... Will I become strange?!
I shake myself from my thoughts and head over to the boys.
I managed to break my record with every race and the boys take turns riding with me and I drive a couple different cars, but my favorite is the pink one.
Silas comes over after the last race and announces that it is time for lunch. Well, his stomach spoke for his mouth, but same thing.
We head to a pizza place and I ride with Kota, Victor, and Paprika.
They spent almost the whole drive arguing about what kind of music is best.
I plop down in the large red corner booth and place my hands on the big table.
There are ten of us squeezed in the table. While it is a large table, I don't think it was meant for nine muscular men and a girl.
"Are we getting the normal pizzas?" Kota looks around to confirm the orders.
Everyone nods and I don't say anything because I am unsure.
"Skunk, what kind of pizza do you like?" Peep asks me.
"Cheese, please!" I giggle.
A waitress comes and takes our order.
She is a truly disturbed person.
I think she forgot her pants.
She is wearing a short black skirt and a partially open blouse and a lot of makeup.
For some reason, she likes to lean over a lot. I hope her back is okay.
"My name is Samantha," She said with a voice that made me concerned about her throat.
Samantha doesn't seem very healthy with her voice and back. I hope her mother doesn't hurt her as well.
"Sang, I think... Maybe she is trying to flirt with the boys?" Sarah guesses.
Someone needs to give her flirting lessons.
I decide to make things easier for her.
I give a mischievous smile and say, "I think the boys want your number."
She brightens up as they shoot me horrified looks.
When she brings out sodas and pizza, she hands each of them a napkin with her number on it.
Ah, playing matchmaker feels good.
We eat quickly because the boys seem to be in a strange rush.
Once we are out the door, Gabriel explodes.
"Trouble, what the **** was that?!"
"And with Ryder all day!" Luke adds.
"She looked lost and a little sick so I helped her out. I don't know what you are talking about with Ryder. I thought it would be fun to help y'all find a girl. And it was," I explain simply.
For some reason, it kinda hurt. I guess I never really thought about them finding a girl until I decided to be nice to Samantha.
"Sang Baby, we don't need to find a girl!" North Star shouts.
I tilt my head and ask, "Why not?"
They all stare at me.
North Star mutters under his breath and stomps off.
Corey murmurs softly, "Let's just head home, Sang."
I beam at him.
I think their home just became my home.

8 176Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
