《Sang Insane | ✔》Chapter Thirty Two

I am sliding a piece of French toast onto a green plate when a blood curling scream tears through the morning air.
Ah, the sound of fun.
I set the black spatula down and follow the panicked boys up the stairs.
Seeing where they are heading, I easily pass them and get to Raven's room first.
I open the door.
Doodles. My work looks even better in the light.
Big Bear is curled up in the fetal position on his bed. The brown covers are tangled around him and the phone is still in the bottle, but is now on the ground.
I can't make out what he is muttering in Russian fully, but I catch bits and pieces.
"The aliens... Too much pink... Shrunk my phone... Stole my left shoe.. Stupid scary elves.. Why are there unicorns?!"
The boys, trying to stop their full tilt run, crash into me and we all spill into Raven's room.
Victor landed on my back and I somehow landed on Axel. The others are stacked similarly around us.
I look into Axel's dark eyes as I am sandwiched on top of him and say the most profound thing I can think of.
"Are all of you as heavy as Victor?" I wheeze.
Axel gives a chuckle and I can feel the laugh.
A red faced Victor scrambled off of me and I, in turn, scramble off of Axel.
Once we are all standing we take on the room and Raven.
Raven is shaking a little and his mutterings have grown more frantic and strange.
I can't help it.
I laugh.
Loudly.
It startles Raven out of it and he looks at me, shocked.
The shock turns to rage.
Uh, oh.
I'm thinking he knows it was me...
Raven runs to me so I escape out the door.
Raven shoves the others out of the way and comes crashing after me.

Is this the challenge I have been waiting for?!

Raven's POV
I woke up that morning and stretched my arm out to grab my phone with my eyes still closed like I do every morning.
However, instead of finding my phone, I found a soda bottle.
What the **** is this doing here?
I opened my eyes in confusion and I swear my eyes got burned.
There was one word to describe the room.
Pink.
Pink everywhere.
Pink flowers on the walls, pink flowers on the windows, pink unicorns covering my ****. ****, even the air smelled pink!
All I felt was HORROR.
What happened?!
How did this happen?!
My mind was racing with the possibilities.
The gnomes that I pissed off...
No, it has to be the unicorns. I knew they were real, but I still mocked them...
Wait. Who said it had to be an Earth dweller?
My horror turned into fear as my theories grew darker and bloodier.
I curled up in the fetal position and just sort of rocked myself. I couldn't stop thinking about all the different possible explanations.
All the sudden I was torn out of my thoughts.
A beautiful tinkling noise filled the air.
A vixen pixie was laughing at me.
A certain nagging at the back of my head told me that I recognized these people, but I was too panicked and out of it to put my mind to use.
My emotions were once again replaced. My fear turned into rage.
No one laughs at me and gets away with it.
I lunged at the fairy who smiled and took off running.
I need to catch her.
As a mafia member, I held the reputation of being dangerous. No one ever laughed at me and lived to tell the tale.
Her laughter showed that she was the cause of this and she didn't care at all. She messed with my head and mocked me.

I crashed after her, shoving the other strangers out of my way. I was lunging and trying to catch the foreign female.
I needed to make her pay.

Sang's POV
YUSS!
Big Bear is chasing me!
He isn't going to go easy on me!
I jump and do one of those heel clicky thingies while running away from Raven.
Now, do I set a trap, outrun him, fight him, or hide...?
Hmm...
Imma gonna go with fight.
Seems like a good idea.
I can easily take down the six foot five muscular Russian when he is furious.
With Star's help, that is.
I wait until we are outside before dropping and flipping him over my shoulder and pressing a pressure point.
He collapses, but slowly gets up even madder than before.
We fight until I get bored. Since he is so out of it and the others are nowhere near, this is the perfect time to use that skill.
The one that no one knows about.
My voice.
See, it isn't just animals that I can communicate with and control.I
This would be the perfect time to test this out.
I dash a bit away from Raven to give myself a second.
Breathing deep, I begin.
My voice is sweet and sad. My voice soars with power and grace.
Raven freezes as I get the first note out.
I sing putting myself into the song.
You see, Star is the body and Sarah is the mind.
Me?
I am the soul.
My voice rings out of me and fills the area.
I have Raven sit down cross legged and take deep breaths.
I am sort of like a siren, I suppose.
If I wanted, I could have Raven do anything.
As the song draws near to the end, I slowly release control over Raven and he relaxes.
Blinking he takes in the situation.
"What just happened?" Raven asks huskily in Russian.
"You tried to attack me because I got my revenge and kinda had some fun with your room..."
"Revenge? Why did you need to get revenge on me?" Big Bear asks incredulously.
I get a little angry.
This is a big deal!
This is important to me!
How could he not remember?!
"You promised a chocolate bar and I never got one! You don't get someone's hopes up like that just to leave them hanging! It is sick! This is cruel and unusual punishment!" I rant.
Raven is taken aback.
"All this for some chocolate? Besides, what was that with the singing?"
"Yes! Chocolate is my life! My love! My reason for existing!" I huff before answering, "The singing is a talent of mine. You are the only one who knows about it."
Raven, surprised, asks, "Am I allowed to tell my brothers?"
"Well... I'm kind of scared of their reactions. It was a risk to use it on you, but I wanted to gauge your reaction before telling others. If you had freaked, there would be no chance of me telling the others. As it stands now, I am unsure," I admit.
"My Kitten, there is no need to fear us. Ever. If you have anything that you want us to know, we will always be willing to hear. My brothers would love to learn, but I believe there is no need to tell them."
Confused, I tilt my head and question, "Why not?"
Raven points behind us where they are standing open mouthed.

Riposte
Noël is known across the city of Portland—and not by choice. Under the care of the richest man in the city and just transferred to a new high school, she's already making close friends... and bitter enemies. A chance encounter on her first day plunges her headfirst into a secret underground tournament. Between suspicious classmates and utter strangers, Noël soon gets a taste for the addictive rush of the duel, but questions of love and trust complicate every move she makes. Cutthroat games with grim consequences await her in a shadowy world of competitors all dueling for the greatest prize imaginable. A new story from Etzoli, that one butterfly who writes things. This is a side-adventure I've written during the pandemic, as I've been having a lot of trouble getting into the correct head-space for writing my main series (The Last Science). Expect some rougher bits. Schedule is sporadic, but this will be a shorter one (closer to Snipe or Epilogue in length). I hope you enjoy it!
